Most autistic thing you've purchased lately - c'mon feel the cringe

There’s a British sweet named ‘squill’ (named after the herbal emetic with which it’s flavored in quantities insufficient to cause vomiting) that I found once, in a British ‘sweets’ store, that I have never been able to find since. And it fucking kills me because apparently it’s produced in extremely small amounts; it’s intense herbal bitter aniseed flavor is an acquired taste.
Have you searched the term "winter candy?" I looked briefly and the only candy that would cop to being squill-flavored said it was also known as "winter candy," and of course that it was out of stock.

I wouldn't think everything called "winter candy" or "cough candy" is squill, though; there's probably a lot of licorice and horehound and mint in there, and everyone's remembering the candy their own grandma had. This store has a bunch of cough candy brands, some of which look old-fashioned as dirt, but they just say "herbal" like a euphemism (and the ingredients say "flavorings.")

Sorry if this is ground you've trodden a hundred times before. I like herbal flavors and it being the fugu of candy intrigued me.

Even steel chainmail is terrible at stopping stabs. Chainmail is meant to stop slashes, not stabs.

I don’t have a sweet tooth but that shit floats my boat, I just wish I could find it regularly (or at all, really).

Oh I am well aware just trying to encourage people to be safe because as I said you find idiots everywhere, btw if anyone is interested in making chainmail for themselfs https://www.ironskin.com/product/make-riveted-chainmail-starter-kit/

And I think I have seen those sweets but I've never tried them, they are one of those ones that are REALLY old like predate newsagents shops so you don't often see them if you like aniseed though get aniseed balls they are a bit like a gob stopper an have a touch of cinnamon in them quite nice.

Funnily enough given my HEMA hobby I already know how how to make chainmail, and I have half a bag of aniseed balls too. Coincidence?

That is a bit of a freaky coincidence, I've made mesh bits before for small stuff like guards an so on but never a full suit I'd like to just never gotten around to it, you HEMA guys are good customers especially when you want something authentic making, your also really good at sharing the love when it comes to resource books etc.

I forgot to update after the Drinkmate got here, but carbonated pickle juice is actually very tasty. It was basically a not sweet pickle soda and was weirdly refreshing.

Now onto the autistic purchase: Divided plates. Sometimes I really fucking hate when my food touches so I got myself three Corelle divided plates. A small lunch one and two larger dinner ones. One of the dinner ones is for my mom because she also hates it when her food touches sometimes.

Some new leather winter motorcycle gloves, because cold fingers suck arse at 100km

Recently I've been going to board game auctions and careermogging the poor, autistic trannies that go to those kind of events. I've bought around 90 games this year so far for cheap.
I have a problem.

I finally succumbed to the duckpill

the Publix 95th Anniversary ducks were on clearance and I've been on a big kick for retarded Florida Man merch
not my photo, I just got the basic 3 pack
one for my home desk, one for my work desk, one for my dashboard

$25 ~1985ish GE clock radio. got fed up with my current one, it's a cheap sharp that has abysmal sound quality and extremely bright blue leds. i heard General Electric made good ones, and the red leds should be less harsh.

extremely bright blue leds.
Retro alarm clock is great. Probably be less expensive in meatspace, even accounting for Goodwill's price gouging, but I figure someone checked to make sure it won't burn your house down.

But side note: earlier in the thread I posted about LED DIMMING STICKERS, and they are the answer to this first-world problem. Usually it's a few sheets of black stickers, half of them dimming and half fully-blocking.

I don't know what's actually wrong with me, but LED-dimming stickers are sure nicer than having masking tape on the microwave display. Sadly they don't make them in "other people's headlights" sizes yet.
