More countries should be "liberal"

I don't mean liberal in the sense that they should celebrate diversity and trans surgery, I mean that more cultures should be willing to self correct. Things like abolitionism and conservationism were controversial at the time but are universally accepted now. Some things we were or weren't doing shouldn't be the things we do now. A good example is that essentially the whole sino-sphere has live seafood. It's especially bad in China, but this happens even in Japan. I remember translating the Japanese wikipedia page for ikizukuri (live sashimi) to see if there was any sort of pushback against this kind of thing in Japan, but it only says it's controversial abroad. But for some reason they don't look at other countries negative reactions to things like these and see that they're the odd one out. More cultures probably would be better in people's eyes if they started doing this.
 
Phrasing self introspection and self correction as a "liberal" quality is horribly ironic given current times.

Yeah, countries should be able to self correct, an example being every Islamic nation just self immolating in the name of their pedo prophet, but that wouldn't make them "liberal", it would just make them not my fuckin' problem anymore.

Nothing is more liberal than forcing others to see things your way with threats of violence and life ruination. This might sound like a joke but muh liberalisms might just be the most racist system there currently is, all colored people are seen as some helpless retards who need the white man to rescue them and then they are kept down as slave wagies cleaning toilets and delivering pizza. If they are lucky some might get well paying token black jobs just to fill the quota but once the requirement changes or gets lifted all those bums get kicked out and replaced, all that shit comes with a high cost in national security, peoples safety and efficiency of our societies.

Personally i have never claimed to give a flying fuck about gender based politics or REEcism but liberals (and leftoids, same thing these days) sure do, its always funny to point out their hypocritical actions and watch them seethe.

You won't get anywhere with this argument because of one thing:

Young people these days don't understand what the word "liberal" means.
They legit think that wokism is liberal when it's the most anti-liberal movement out there right now.
As long as it's anywhere on the left, it's "liberal".
They will hear you say the word "liberal" and then they will stop hearing anything you say, they will just start imagining troons waving rainbow flags.

The left needs a new word for a "liberal" because the current word lost all meaning and has too many negative connotations.
It will probably never have a positive meaning again, not anytime soon anyway.
 
Besides the shitty baiting attempt, liberal is a very dirty word in the US. Everyone besides a few neoliberals remaining in the DNC has a negative view no matter what ideology you are at the moment. I believe we are seeing the death of neoliberalism, besides a few remain, if it did not already die. There's still plenty of neocons, but they aren't as common as they used to be back in the day.
 
I love how no argument is provided other than “your culture looks bad to foreigners” as if that should/does matter to the natives. Also, regarding conservation and abolition, neither is universally accepted with slavery and pollution being practiced unabashadely in some countries (unless you count them signing some UN declaration for gibsmedats as a valid form of universal assent, in which case, lol).

That use of liberal is itself a case of them adopting another ideology’s word after the old one (progressive) became toxic because even average Joe’s had enough of Mr Roosevelts Wild Ride.

But my main issue is that the whole world agreed with their rebranding and now, liberal = woke.
Therefore, actual liberals need a new label.

Liberalism is about increasing personal liberties and decreasing government control.
The equality is only when it comes to what you can do in society but all the socialist bullshit like redistribution is very anti-liberal.

He’s conflating, as I take it, the Declaration of Independence’s famous phrase’s claim that all men are created with equal natural rights/equally made in the image of God - people are equal in terms of the moral worth nature invests in them - with the idea that people are equal in ability.
