Trouble is that that doesn't explain why going to and from the moon is so expensive and difficult. Unless you got someone reputable that people would understand are vastly smarter than Brianna Wu to state a fact without explanation, our testimony is no better than hers. From an uneducated layperson's perspective, dropping rocks off the moon does make sense. If you came along and told them that it simply doesn't work, they wouldn't be convinced.

Mock the sheer ridiculousness of it instead of trying to show why it's ridiculous.

It doesn't really need to be explained every time it's mentioned, although a two minute thing explaining why it is stupid might be worth it.

In general, the public is going to hear some crazy thing about the Moon and just think it's fucking ridiculous with no explanation needed. Look at Newt Gingrich and his Moon shit, even though his Moon shit made a lot more sense than John's.

And I'm so glad that the astrophysics PhDs , military engineers and geopolitical experts who post here have convinced me otherwise.
