Cartoon Network policies are perplexing to say the least. EG Italian Cartoon Network decided to not translate and dub the last four episodes of Steven Universe season 5, so in my country they haven't aired yet. But CN also decided that fuck that, the missing episodes wouldn't keep them from translating, dubbing and airing the movie, in fact it's been available since the last month. Riccardo Suarez, Steven's voice actor, confirmed that he knows nothing about the missing episodes of season 5.

Sorry to bump this thread but I saw that vlog from Clownfish TV about CN cutbacks. We have to forget Trick Moon and they outdone themselves for doing much worse than Teen Titans Go with Batwheels, WTF?!

oh my God does that suck. I haven't heard of this cartoon but no show that got the greenlight deserves to have it stopped before it gets a chance to air. That even goes for that dumb-as-shit upcoming cars ripoff and diabeetus-level cute bears show.

Pray to whoever will listen everyone. None of these shows ongoing or upcoming are safe from the cancel hammer until completion, public support be dammed.

It happens a lot in the business. But usually nobody ever hears about it.

No no I know (those old pilot shows are public animation graveyards), it's just the first time I heard it happen given CN's track record lately. It had a pilot online so it already had its audience. And they still cut it off despite having like four other shows with the same path to TV. Maybe when the game of musical executives stops at Warner Media they can resume production but I don't know nor care that much.

Cartoon Network is nothing but a shell of it's former self now...

"OK so we're going to allot 80% of the schedule for this one specific new show and then air the other veteran shows at really odd hours and not advertise for their new episodes. Oh, the veteran shows are losing ratings? Cancel time."

Modern Cartoon Network.

if any of you don't think Ed Edd & Eddy was the best shit in the world (and still acknowledge it as one of the greats to this day) then your taste is truly awful, sorry to say.

Feels wrong seeing Adventure Time and Gumball in that image. They are shows from what feel like a by-gone era, and while they aired next to Steve Universe, they truly feel separate from the likes of We Bare Bears or Steven at this point. As for the other shows, the only one I ever liked was TTG from the modern era. That show was surprisingly red-pilled/based and its humor was actually pretty solid. Otherwise, I have nothing to see on CN anymore.

CN/Adult Swim seem to be circling the drain I'm sorry to say.
All cable is. And streaming services only care about what new shows they can greenlight to attract new subscribers, not long term sustainability.
Sadly, we’re likely to shift towards the British model of television. Very short seasons, and probably cancelled after two.

I liked Adventure Time.

I can't say I ever watched Cartoon Network prior but AT got me hooked.

I really felt like towards the end the Cartoon Network did a really shitty job marketing it because I never knew when it was actually on.

All of the reruns air on Boomerang now, a channel nobody seems to actually offer in my area.

AT is still my favorite series from CN. Adventure Time, along with Regular Show and Gumball, really sparked an amazing era for CN. They kinda feel like the ending of the 90s - 2000s eras, fitting inline with shows like Johnny Bravo and PPG, and especially Chowder and Flapjack, while still being unique. The era really fell apart during the midpoint of 2010s, mainly due to Steven and TTG. Now I love TTG, but its clones are insufferable in comparison with PPG 2016 being beyond boring. Steven started off as if it would be a great like AT, but lost so much steam after Peridot came to earth. It just could not live up. As for other series, I barely watched. We Bare Bears seemed alright, I did not mind Clarence, and I have never watched anything else on that post.

You are correct about how CN treated AT though. The series, along with Regular Show and Gumball, got shafted hard come 2016. The CN community abandoned them to jerk Steven and CN just stopped all advertising. I also believe AT went on huge hiatuses in the second half, as I remember some random episode being released in October with no advertising and no episodes prior or after.

Such a shame. America prided itself on long-running shows for decades.
