Opinion MLB Goes Full Commie With China-Style Ballpark Changes

Major League Baseball is accused of taking major steps toward using Chinese-style facial recognition technology to gain access to ballparks.

Although the program is currently “voluntary” as it rolls out at the New York Mets and Cleveland Guardians games, experts say Americans should be aware of its implications and dangers.

The United States was founded and built on important personal privacy rights. This technology raises concerns about the rise of the surveillance state, which has been welcomed by the communist government of China.

Fans send a selfie photo of themselves through the MLB Ballpark app. As a result, ticket holders can walk into the game without a ticket or barcode. Their face is the ticket.

MLB senior vice president Karri Zaremba said, “Don’t have to get out a phone or even stop. It’s a free flow, full walking speed experience.”

This is a pilot program called “Go-Ahead Entry.” It will launch at Citizens Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia.

Political commentator Randy DeSoto of Western Journal writes, “The pandemic made it abundantly clear what governments, especially when armed with what they think is right and good, seek to do to curtail people’s liberty.”

“Picture a future when grocery stores, gas stations or other retailers that provide the essentials of life have a ‘go’ and ‘no go’ database for would-be customers trying to enter the store,” he continues.

“Communist China is at the forefront of all this use of artificial intelligence,” he added.

Paul Scharre, vice president and director of studies at the Center for a New American Security, said, “Facial-recognition scanners are deployed at hotels, banks, shopping malls and gas stations” in China.

“Movement is tightly controlled through ID checkpoints that include face, iris and body scanners,” he explained.

“The problem is not just that AI is being used for human rights abuses but that it can supercharge repression itself, arming the state with vast intelligent surveillance networks to monitor and control the population at a scale and degree of precision that would be impossible with human agents,” he added.

But how long before getting online requires facial recognition to logon? Scary to think about.

What if one doesn't usually use a "smartphone" once that cyberpunk dystopian thing ceases to be voluntary?

Yeah.. I refuse to waste my time life with my face shoved in front of one of those things. Don't have one, don't want one, have refused gifts.

No, they will demand the AI be reprogrammed so they can also be properly surveilled.
Man, this is going to be a tough ticket for them to apply on a societal level. When AI camera systems correctly recognize niggers as perpetrators in most crimes, how are they going to justify not having police having their focus on black neighbourhoods?

I have no doubt this idea will be deemed racist when it doesn't recognize black people properly and a few of them get flagged and pulled aside to see proof they actually got tickets. One recorded freakout is all it takes.

The thing about niggers and racism is that this talk tends to disappear when that narrative tends to go against their agenda and interests

Yeah this is why this shit will fail. Once philly niggers (and I include the white niggers like the italians) realize they can all walk in at once and they're aren't enough staff to stop them they will swarm that motherfucker and probably cause a riot if anyone tries to start arresting them.

Lets' hope for a chimpout. Because this is creepy. I don't want this to be the future of everything that requires a ticket or your identity to be confirmed. I don't use a smartphone and I don't want to be forced to use one just to do everyday things. Fuck that.

I think that check cashing places still take your picture. I only do direct deposit so I haven't cashed a check or gotten a money order in years. The DMV takes cards now so I don't need the money order for my ID now. But I remember they'd have that camera in the window. They do record you at the ATM and self checkouts. It's weird and I don't like it. But I guess it's a security issue.

But that's a bit different from needing an app just to get into a ballgame. My boomer relatives got Michael Buble tickets last year and I had to do the whole thing for them because they couldn't figure out how to purchase tickets online. No matter how many times I taught them how to get tickets online they just didn't get it. If they wanted to go to a ballgame they would also need help.

A lot of people are going to be stuck for two hours helping boomers to e-ticket. I've suffered through it. It's Hell on Earth.
Russia is now force-memeing paying with a smartphone. Paying with a card costs the seller a fee and paying with the phone is free (despite both systems using the same backbone). However the smartphone thing requires not just a smartphone (bad enough) but an active data connection.

Cash App always holds the line up around here. People come in with wifi phones because they probably have a pinger line or AT&T's cheapo wifi only phone plan. They ask to use the wifi in stores that don't have free wifi. Or their phone is messed up and won't load the stupid app, they can't log in ect...

I ain't using the crap. I have a card from my bank. That's it. Take it or leave it. I refuse to lug a smartphone around with me. I have no use for one.
