It looks like this was brought in just for T&H accounts, if anyone without T&H tries this they will find it's not possible.

When was this enabled? It can only be recently and with little to no announcement.

I asked Josh once if there is a way to change your name and he told me to make a new account, this was a fair few years ago though.

I haven't tried to change it but it shows up for me just fine,

There's thread for it somewhere around here. I got a name change just because I was tired of my old one. You can only get three changes, and if you're trying to escape an embarrassing post history, it will be denied.

I looked around for that thread and it's no longer there. You have to request a name in Talk To Staff now. They're disinclined to give name changes any more unless you have a good reason.

When I got my name change, I just posted in the thread what I wanted, and a few days later it was changed.
