Miyazaki vs Otakus

To be fair to anime fans, he seems to have a hate boner for rather inconsequential things. Not an Apple fan myself, but calling touch screens "masturbation" is taking shit a little far.

I'm not a huge fan of touch screens myself (going by experience here). But me thinks that touch screens =/= masturbation.

Then again, Miyazaki's got a raging hard-on for being a technophobe (and a perfectionist, but that's beside the point). Which alone deserves a bit of hate towards him. Whether or not he's right about the whole "Otaku-pandering" ordeal (and he is, to a degree).

He's always using hyperboles to describe things he doesn't like. I mean back when he was a mangaka he said that people who made Naausica hentai were basically child molesters. I dunno if I'm really qualified to talk about anime though. There's not really a lot of it that I like, and the ones that I do like other anime fans seem to hate.
