I enjoyed it quite a bit. Yes there is a lot of talking in the first half but I thought it was paced and framed very well. Think metal gear exposition and you'll know if you'll like it or hate it. The stunts were great. The diversity was not very distracting and was all well acted. Id recommend it. You gotta see it for the underwater sub and the plane ride. Those were perfectly batshit awesome. They do reference some of the past movies, but I thought they did a good job not keeping the audience out of the loop. If you want the full effect, all you really need to watch is 1 and 3.
There's only one dud of a scene and that's the one where cruise beats up some guys off screen for a lame joke.
