I love Midis so much that I make shit ass midis and saw that there was NO THREADS about midis, only archives and tutsirolls.
I have created this thread to appreciate the MIDI.

TL;DR: Autistic

I love Turbo Niggers and their hit song Beast Of Ality 😊

MIDI was essentially the backbone of music in PC gaming (along with red book CD audio) until the banishment of DOS in 2001 with Windows XP.

I wish the LAPC-I wasn't so stupidly expensive, otherwise I'd own one.

What's everyone's take on getting old MIDI files and reorchestrating them using current day sample libraries? Do we all just like the General MIDI lbrary and that's what this thread's for?
I do a ton of that these days, either with MIDI I just find online or creating it from tablature or sheet music and then slapping high-quality samples onto it.

This is a snippet from my experiment working with orchestral samples and the solo guitar is the only real instrument on the track - the drum, bass, synth pads, french horns, violins, violas, and cello are all samples. The mix is a little rough around the edges as I never quite finished it, but I think you get the gist. The versatility of MIDI is just incredible - if you know how to play to its strengths and avoid its weaknesses, you can create very elaborate arrangements without ever having to leave your squalid NEET lair home studio.

I like Midis cause theyre analog and you can hear the notes properly. Im learning how to use OpenMPT and I use it to create Midis for the most part. Blood has the best Midi Soundtrack I know, SNES Midis come close second probably the DKC Midi soundtrack.
