How can anyone else hope to make a story as autistic as Kojima does?

At best, this will be generic, flat, and ultimately forgettable.

Probably. Though, it seems like the director is at least passionate about the source material and getting input from Kojima. Skull Island was decent, so maybe this’ll be okay despite being directed by a massive crybaby bitch.

Kong: Skull Island was pretty good. However, I'm not really optimistic about this ever seeing the light of day. Video game movies almost always go through development hell.

>Konami gave the go ahead for a MGS movie after canning the wannabe movie director/movie-addicted Kojima

Those gunslinging tricks are pretty cool, I'll give Ocelot that, just y'know, maybe he could not do them while in the midst of a gunfight?

Real talk though, I've always thought Metal Gear could make for an interesting film franchise if done right, hell honestly a few video-game series could make great films if care is taken, it's just a question of whether or not care will be taken (probably not lol).

If they were going for realism, there'd be no monologuing or assorted craziness that we've grown to love about the series.

Kojima is a tokusatsu fan after all so he appreciates a good bit of theatricality.

There's no way to really bring this over to film that I can see even in my hopeful dreams. I'm a bit bummed out they aren't gonna just admit it won't work and cash grab and let Uwe Bowl do it because if it's gonna suck I don't want a we pulled every string and still failed I want a car wreck that makes something laughable, that fans and non fans won't have to connect to the series.

TBH I loved 1-3 after that it got wonky and I didn't much enjoy the story/series. People say retry 4 maybe I should. I just don't think this story can transfer well to big screen, a series on something like HBO or animated maybe?

As an MGS fan, it would be cool to see a movie of it but at the same time, playing through those games is pretty much like watching them as well.
