Amael Kotlarski who works for Jane's Intel is saying SIG M7 is kill.

"Confirmed with SIG and US Army programme officers. The M7 is dead. All production for NGSW-R will be switched over to the XM8 going forward. Delivered M7s (approx 50 k delivered) will eventually be replaced by the M8 down the line."

Not to mention the boomers kids may not even be interested in them and couldn't care less about selling them or depending on their politics, do a buy back.

I have actually met a guy in SoCal who was completely apathetic to his parents gun collection and had no desire to handle it when they pass away. It's a sample size of one but people forget how much more liberal the children of boomers are.
the last time i went to the range with my 357 there was an old guy with his ~30 year old ish son that looked like a pitchfork writer from ten years ago. guy treated me like a child who had never shot a revolver before even though i had just shot a box of ammo out of my own revolver. that guy is going to sell all of his dad's guns the second he dies, post haste.

They’re like this because so many boomers had zero interest in interacting with their kids. They were too busy being scammed into buying overly sound systems, classic cars and other boomer bullshit.

Oh, it makes a 10lb rifle 8lbs.

I'm pretty sure that's it.

I wonder if they go to using one of those new hot-shit advanced steel barrels that are supposed to handle much higher chamber pressures if they'll be able to get similar performance to the M7, but with the shorter and lighter rifle?

If they ramp up the pressure of the cartridge even more and use super steel barrels, wouldn't that create potential safety issues for the 50k M7s that are already in service (unless they rebarrel those too)?

I believe the plan is to retire the M7 entirely. But seeing as how they're supposed to have easily changed barrels, it wouldn't be a big deal to rebarrel them with the super steel barrels. If that's what they actually plan to do. I was just spitballing on how they might be able to get the same performance out of the shorter rifles.

Mighty optimistic of you to expect each iteration of a SIG product to accept parts interchangeably.

QCB swappable in less than 30 seconds
-15in TOTAL, not continuous pic rail at the 12 O'clock
-"The FAMG recoil impulse should be sufficiently low as to facilitate effective employment of the FAMG to its max effective range day or night (T)"
-Min cyclic rate 400rpm, max 650

Now, based on the recoil stipulation this feels to me like this is just SOCOM asking for a KAC LAMG with a folding stock.

The only other possible player is FN presenting the Evolys
Can't be the Evolys as it doesn't have a QCB, it's barrel swap takes 1-3 minutes
It's crazy that the Canadians have an infinitely better Next Generation rifle program based on a design made by an American in the 50's
Because they just went with an improved AR lol. Even then what's up with the 13.7 inch barrel?
this shit is just so much of a braindead compromise. 11 inch barrel? on a service rifle? really nigga? that ammo must be some mars raygun shit (and even if it is that barrel is gonna burn out instantly) or else it'll be worthless
The ammo is compromised too lol
Been talking with Dave at Ronin Leather, planning out the holster for my Python after I buy it. Dave is a really good guy and I've been enjoying emailing back and forth. I'm going with his Okami holster, which has a belt loop on the rear side of the holster and a snap loop on the front. Looks like it should hold the pistol tight against the body. Going to go with green crocodile belly for the full face of the holster with kangaroo leather lining, and a 17° cant to help tuck the bottom of the holster up under t-shirts. Dave says it will take about two months to make once I place the actual order and submit payment. And even with the exotic skin, the price is around what some custom makers charge for a basic leather holster with no custom touches. If I end up liking it, which I think I'm going to, I'll probably get a second holster from him for my Dan Wesson.
Neat

I've heard good things about Ronin. It's not my style but It's quality. I'm old fashioned so i have a service style basket weave thumbreak from El Paso for my Python. carries great. El paso's wait time is a bitch though. you'll wait the better part of a year for your order, and buying a no frills plain holster doesn't speed it up so it pays to go all out. next time I'm getting the full floral carving. all my serious holsters are from El Paso.

My new grips for the Anaconda and Python from Altamont are taking forever. They showed in stock when i ordered but the invoice email said they had to make them from scratch :(
Ouch 😳

Yep, many boomer kids are gun hating faggots

Lmao, its not like the XM-8 is better.
Correct. Shorter barrel so it makes even bigger fireballs
