As threatened, I have picked up a Beretta 1301 Mod 2. LE edition because it's what the local store had and I honestly do not give a fuck about chokes on a tacticool shotgun that I might put slugs through. Still came with the stock spacers (which I need because I am a big dude), so that's good enough for me. Having just picked it up today and not actually shot it yet, pretty nice, although the barrel clamp is a bit suck and does not work with a QD sling that's totally compatible with everything else.

Now I just need to find a local shooting range that allows shotgun. All the indoor ranges ban shotguns, probably because they have totally legitimate concerns about the target carrying machines. Still though.

My A300 barrel clamp also is worthless as a sling attachment point, to the point that I ended up attaching one that works to one of the MLOK slots on the forend. I've heard good things about the Strike Industries one, but I'm happy enough with my current setup to not agonize too much over it.

Seriously anyone who's not carrying a 10.5" AR with a can, binary and 6+ spare mags when they go to the car wash is basically asking to be a criminal victim and i'm fucking sick of these losers with only one mag in the gun or carrying compact etc.

One of my favorite thing with buying old guns like I do is when you clean them and realize that you are probably the first one to clean it in over a hundred years.
Related, I finally got a gun I always wanted, a Remington Rolling Block, Swedish Model, the bore is perfect, like it came off the assembly line.

Do you find them bulky? Summerwear I always felt like that crossed the line for concealed carry.


I always felt conflicted over weapon mounted lights on pistols. Something goes "bump in the night" I'd like the idea I can put a flashlight in my secondary hand and I'm not pointing the muzzle of something at some kid who wandered into my backyard trying to sneak back home or over the neighbors fence or even just a lost domesticated pet or something. I don't want to shoot someone's dog and feel like POS for decades over it.

Over a decade ago at work wild jungle bunny advanced on me with a large knife. A Gen2 27 has no rail and IIRC the Gen5 still doesn't, I drew and two handed with a shitty Harbor freight flashlight. Now he stopped but didn't realize there was a .40JHP with his name on it if he took another step. Incidentally anyone who wants to debate me on the merit of .40, I challenge you to battle to death in Thunderdome. Stupid fucking Nog has no idea because the flashlight is doing it's job, he's blinded. I swing the light away from grip now he can see the silhouette of a G27 and he does what Jungle Bunnys do best, he runs.

Since then I'm such a believer in flashlights I have one of those fucking obnoxiously large ones that will light cigarette paper on fire if you rest it on the lens for a minute.

It’s why I believe in having multiple carry guns.

  • Shit hole neighborhoods or traveling - G19 COA with X300U
  • Standard carry Shield X with an optic and light
  • I’m going right down the road to the gas station and don’t feel like getting out of cargo pants or wearing a suit? Kel Tec P32

So buy one. Rebuilt P17 spotters can be had for good prices. If you go up to ~3kUSD you can get a master gun maker built P17 in near any caliber that will be miles above a milsurp rifle

The man who taught me CCW 101 was of an era and jurisdiction where all 3 were required to be listed and serialized. He said you want a mouse gun like a .32 ACP, that just goes everywhere with you lawfully permit-able. Something the sights don't' even matter because you're going to just empty the thing point blank into someone jumping into your car door you should have locked, You want the subcompact that has a balance. Why he chose .380 for mid-level I'll never understand. To me this is something like subcompact Khar or Glock in 9mm or 40. No accessories, maybe a pinky extension. After that he told me #3 needed to be something you carried if you were avoiding but expecting trouble. It was drilled into me a CCW is not law enforcement certification or a made you deputy. In his day probably a S&W 910 15+1 9mm. In this modern age? Full size with optic and if you live in rural area possible even PDW/PDW hybrid.

I don't know how every dept approves/deny CCWs I'd imagine that there are some smaller depts that still want to list 3 and bring all 3 in for inspection. I would have to imagine the LT who approves carry permits would not like to see a flux raider or some AR pistol, technically a handgun the same way a SUV is a "truck" I suppose. Would they sign off on it? Who knows. Wouldn't look good at trial if the self defense shoot was under question. Some dick licking anti 2A DA heard you blasted the meth crazed homeless black guy wielding a knife screaming at you, now your in trial and he has the LT who approved your CCW and points to exhibit #47 a pistol with a brace on it. He asks the LT if he approved you carrying this...

My G19 is my duty gun, but regardless I think everyone should have a full sized duty pistol and a Safariland lvl 2-3 for if shit gets bad enough and rolling high profile becomes a scenario like Hurricane Katrina.

When I travel to cities that have shit like riots and teen takeovers I take an MP5K and carry it in a bag in the passenger side.

Lately I carry my Jericho for the lulz. I would love to have to shoot a nigger and be like "I have an israel gun remember the 6000 gadrillion" or it's a really nice CZ layout

Secondhand parts pulled from an evidence locker or shit that's new in the box, your decision entirely. They're weird about pricing though so you might end up overpaying for the parts that you do use and the parts left over might have little to no value.
