Went to the LGS today and ordered a subcompact and a micro compact: a S&W Shield X and a S&W Bodyguard 2.0.

Never run anything as small as these. Ought to be interesting, especially with figuring out how to pocket carry that Bodyguard.
I liked my Ruger ec9. Pocket carried it for years and shot the hell out of it until I actually wore it out. Need to send it back to Ruger but I’m afraid they’ll say it’s too far gone

How did you do that/what pocket did you carry it in? How did you arrange all the rest of your stuff you typically keep in pockets?
I shot about 3k rounds through it until it began to jam terribly. I was just very good at shooting that gun so i kept coming back to it. At one point i was able to clear a plate rack at 7 yards point shooting with it.

When I pocket carry I put my gun in my right front pocket. Nothing else lives in that pocket when there is a gun in it. I use desantis pocket holsters. They’re some kind of nylon or synthetic material. Works fine, no issues on draw.

Alrighty, Here's some of my other guns and projects. Left to Right, a MPiKM kit from RTI, a CETME C kit, an Arminus .357 revolver, a gunsmith special m83/93, a vz58, a vz61 skorpion, a type 56 sks that i rebuilt (fire damaged, most of the gun is replaced), and all the working longarms ive posted before plus a JC Higgins model 20 that I modified with a Mossberg 500 mag tube (EDIT: I forgot to mention the shitrod 91/30 and the Webley Mk V revolver frame).

Not Pictured is a no. 1 MK3 I've somewhat rebuilt (Need the stock and the hardware surrounding it), two type 38s I'm restoring, and a vz/cz 52 pistol project that's waiting for me at the FFL

I finger-fucked the Bodyguard in the store and it's definitely pocket pistol size, at least for me. I was thinking of trying it in a back pocket but that doesn't seem feasible without something like 5.11 "This Guy Totally Is Carrying a Pistol" type pants, which I don't wear anyway. We'll see once it comes, I get a holster for it, and I do some practicing.

I know you used the soft type of pocket holster. Had you ever tried the kydex types?

I need a vertical shoulder holster for an S&W N-frame revolver.
I'm looking for good leather, and I also need matching pouches to hold speed loaders.
Any recommendations?

Anytime anyone asks about shoulder holsters I always have to recommend the Nightingale Leather Sandpiper. I've got one for my Dan Wesson Specialist, and a second one that should be shipping out on the 20th for my Staccato P. You can get them with a horizontal or vertical carry holster. Kevin at Nightingale is a true craftsman and one of the few lethersmiths who still offers full leather lining as an option on all his holsters. The Sandpiper has a magazine or speed loader carrier under the opposite arm as the holster. Kevin also offers some exotic leather options such as shark, stingray, elephant, and others.

Two things to consider: Kevin's work is not cheap, though he does offer good sales sometimes. And his work takes time, especially now that he's becoming more well-known. I ordered my latest shoulder rig on July 5th last year. At the time his backlog was quoted at 32-34 weeks. He's now at something like 46-48 weeks according to his website. However, I fully feel the wait and price are worth it.

Some other options to look at are Andrews Leather and Marston Leather. I'm currently considering a Marston shoulder rig for the Python Combat Elite I'm going to be buying soon. The one shown on their site that I'm looking at was made for a GLOCK and presents the grip at an angle instead of being horizontal or vertical, and I really like the harness design of it. The page for it says they can make the rig "for anything", so I'm going to email them and ask if it can be made for a 3" Python.

Shoulder holsters are my absolute favorite way to carry and I have spent a lot of time over the years searching the internet for high quality rigs with good designs.

I checked out their website and noticed they offer weapon mounted light models. Back in the day when I was looking for an IWB for a 1911 w/ X300 I called up Milt Sparks and they tried to tell me leather with a WML is a no go due to the fitment never being quite right. I’m guessing they were full of shit?

I couldn't tell you. I've never owned a leather rig for a pistol with a light mounted. I've seen a few makers offer them, such as Nightingale and Marston, so it might just be preference for what the maker wants to offer.

Thanks for the lead! I really appreciate it. I definitely don't mind paying a premium for a quality product, especially since the gun wasn't exactly cheap.

I'm the same way. Ever since having to sell off the vast majority of my old gun collection I made the decision to approach my second collection with a quality over quantity mindset, approaching each addition as an investment. I also made the decision to mostly stick to a handful of cartridges, mainly .22lr, 9mm, .45 ACP, 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, and 12ga with a few outliers like .41 Rem Mag, 7.5fk, and .357 Mag, in order to make feeding them easier. My old collection was over 60 firearms of various styles and calibers, and it was kind of a nightmare to keep a good supply of ammo for each one.

When it comes to things like leather goods I prefer going with custom, bespoke, handmade, etc. over mass produced because the quality is better usually, it'll most times last longer, and you're able to get options you normally can't find with mass production, such as exotic leather, tooling/stamping, things like that. For example, I'm currently talking to a holster maker who is local to me and who I've never ordered from before, but found his website while looking for a holster for the Python I'm getting. I'm planning on getting the holster with OD green crocodile belly for the full front of the holster since I haven't had an exotic leather holster in a very long time. The first custom leather holster I ever ordered had a full front of stingray skin, but it's the only exotic holster I've owned so far. This maker, his name is Dave with Ronin Leather (IIRC) and I have been emailing back and forth the past few days kinda hashing things out. He's a really great guy to talk with and he lives up near where my old man and I went hunting together for the last time before pop died.

As threatened, I have picked up a Beretta 1301 Mod 2. LE edition because it's what the local store had and I honestly do not give a fuck about chokes on a tacticool shotgun that I might put slugs through. Still came with the stock spacers (which I need because I am a big dude), so that's good enough for me. Having just picked it up today and not actually shot it yet, pretty nice, although the barrel clamp is a bit suck and does not work with a QD sling that's totally compatible with everything else.

Now I just need to find a local shooting range that allows shotgun. All the indoor ranges ban shotguns, probably because they have totally legitimate concerns about the target carrying machines. Still though.
