These things can exist. Some people who want these things could make one for themselves. Then you got more than one and there could be a potential market. IIIRC, this sort of thing was discussed in the furry thread where there existed items of a certain nature that would not only be creepy but also appealed to the market that desired it.

One of the reasons I kind of respect the orignal RealDoll creator is that he's said before that he will never make custom dolls based on real people, he will never make a doll that looks prepubescent, and he'll never add any kind of robotics to make the doll more human-- no breathing, no heating units, no heartbeats. He was vehement about this in the way only a man who has gotten some really creepy requests in the past can be.

I'm convinced that the obsession with real dolls is based more on control issues and insecurity than on a desire for sex; here is a woman who will always do whatever you want, whenever you want. Sure, compromising with your partner isn't always fun, but being with a real person sure beats playing house with a hunk of rubber.

The first category are probably still having cringe-worthy profiles on dating sites and the like. The guys in this thread, they obviously have some compulsion to act out/exhibit their weirdness to the world, so it'd probably go further than that.
