I have a design for the simplest closed bolt ever - a springy metal plate trigger that you pull down on, the slide goes down to make a shot and goes back up. Semi-auto. It's a bent metal plate that's flat with a trigger shape on the bottom with a slide rest at the top. When you push up on the trigger, the slide rest goes down and fires the round. It's basically a spring detent.
