I Have decided to NOT make this a mass casualty event and instead will wait out the breakfast menu and instead try the new "Chicken and beefburger" with a large fries and large sprite zero. 9 nuggets on the side.

Big N Tasty (the American version) used to be the best burger on the menu (basically a Whopper, but with McDonald's superior fries) and it was killed partially because they moved it to the dollar menu where it became a money-loser and eventually disappeared. At least that's what I can gather.

A double quarter pounder combo is $17 now in Canada. They have a new double cheesy melt version for a limited time here now that I thought was pretty good for a McDonald's product. I still miss the Big Arch. It was basically a Big Mac in double quarter pounder form.

According to their webpage they have more options, no Quarter Pounder or its cousins, no "McCrispy", but they do have Spicy Chicken Burger (check out that breading), Teriyaki Chicken Burger (served on a long bun),

They don't even make it fast anymore, they increased the price to be close to an actual restaurant if you buy a simple menu - the food quality has gone down and you get less of it as well.

What is the point of fast food at this point anyway? That its open to 04:00?

But the moment you slam down that egg puck is the moment it's fucked. But by not having it you get gouged even more than normal, since their shitty breakfast in general is massively overpriced for what you get.

IIRC they use a premixed egg mixture for their folded eggs and scrambled eggs while they use a proper egg for their round eggs.

The egg pucks are flavorless, even the yolk. I don't know how the fuck they pull that off given that I think the premix has more egg flavor than the puck. I'm not shitting you; it's so flavorless it doesn't just mute the taste of the bacon or sausage and cheese; it actually smothers it into nothingness.

None of the other places I can think of, like Hardees or Wendy's or Wawa, can claim this failure.

According to McDonald's website they prepare their eggs depending on the item its meant for:

• Round Egg: We use a USDA Grade A egg cracked into an ‘egg ring’ to get that iconic round shape for our Egg McMuffin
• Scrambled eggs: Our scrambled eggs are made with liquid eggs that are cooked fresh on our grill with real butter.
• Folded eggs: Our folded eggs, like the ones on a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, are made with liquid eggs that are pre-cooked and folded before being flash frozen by our suppliers. Once in our kitchens, they’re prepared on the grill with real butter.
• Sausage Burrito Eggs: Our suppliers pre-cook liquid eggs with ingredients that include sausage, tomatoes, green chilies, onions and seasonings before flash freezing them to help maintain their taste.

That basically boils it down to two issues: the quality of the eggs they're using or the way they're cooking the round eggs.
