Yeah, the problem for me is I'd have to buy it again because the username I used for mine is highly personal. So unless there's a grey level site where I can buy an account using dark net mined bitcoin, I couldn't.

I'd prefer the most recent.

My only reservation with anarchy is trying to get people out of base. I feel like I need a way give people some basic equipment (tools, a boat, a bed, torches) and a copy of a book containing my manifesto with each spawn. I also feel like there needs to be some way to disperse people safely.

In my head I see the spawn point as some sort of gated castle and then the very nanosecond you're off that chunk it's like a vietnam war napalm field
 
The best part is that it's all possible. You can have a world/zone specifically for a protected area to explain rules and hand out kits, with portals/teleportation devices to yeet people into the wilderness either in the same dimension or a completely different one.

It's also entirely possible to have minigames and creative and survival and Skyblock all on the same server, it's just a matter of setting up the plugins.
 
Are there any other games that still have community servers? TF2 used to have them but I have no idea if they're still around, L4D2 has them but they don't work the same way.

I'm just not interested in Minecraft, tbh.

I've found PaperMC and then EssentialsX which supposedly can handle first spawn / bedless respawn gear like how I want. I can even give everyone a copy of Ted Kaczynski's book.

I'll look into the wilderness spawn next. Would be interesting to have a portal that just flings you someplace random.
 
There's plenty of random teleport plugins, and most should have functionality to use a sign that players right click. Another thing to consider is that entities will cause lag, so anyone with a bunch of animals or mob farm or items on the ground will cause lag. There's plugins that purge all dropped items every so often, and ones that merge entities into stacks so instead of 50 sheep entities it's a single entity worth 50 sheep.
 
Now that I think about it, you should probably look into an Anti-Cheat plugin as well. The type of server you are planning on making is definitely the type that would attract spergs who download hacked clients because they couldn't play the game for shit.

Can't think of any good ones off the top of my head though (NoCheatPlus was the standard while I was still playing, but as far as I can tell it doesn't appear to be up to date).

TF2 community servers are still very much a thing.
 
Okay, I'm looking for Paper/Spigot plugins: anti-cheat and "wilderness" spawning

I'm asking around for anti-cheat.


For wilderness, this seems cool, but abuseable. There doesn't seem to be any cooldowns and you can TP from anywhere.

It would be really awesome if these portals could be linked to a biome from the above mod. That'd be idea.

There is another wilderness teleport mod but it looks like shit and the guy who made it seems like a fucking retard.


I'm also looking into how online-mode=false works and if you can use custom UUID/Name combinations as a client. If anyone knows about this, let me know.

Disappointed in the anti-cheat. Will you make it just disable cheats, or is it going to also janny people who trigger it? A no-bans server would be ebin.

There is a mod that allow you to construct portals, which can either teleport people to set locations or just a random point on the map. On that note, you need to create a bounded map. Make it very large, but not infinite. Because you know some mega autist is going to try and expand it all the way otherwise. I don't know if in recent updates you are allowed to expand the map if for whatever reason space runs out completely. Last time a played you were stuck with what you got. Since you got a solid rig you may be able to get away with a 1 million by 1 million grid. Should last a good long time, without allowing for some retard trying to break the game by rendering out 100 billion cubic squares. My best advice is go onto a minecraft server forum that has been in operation for a good decade and ask for advice on starting a new server. I only really have experience at the user end from what I have seen, and a common mistake is a bounded area way too small for the number of people playing.

You do not need to purchase a new copy of Minecraft to avoid doxing yourself.
Minecraft has implemented a name change system so you can avoid being traced back to your younger days and be doxxxxxeeeedd.
Of course, there's the issue of UUID, so,
if you're really that squirrely about being doxed, then go ahead and create a new account and buy a new game license.
Otherwise, don't spend your money if you don't need to.

I would say to merge them both (never mind, it already has Railcraft built into GT New Horizons), but that's just asking for trouble. There's also ComputerCraft for more autism, and Optifine for optimization. There's a damn good reason I have Minecraft in my official Autism Simulators txt file. There's also Aether II.

For anti-cheat I believe NoCheatPlus is the most common though a paid one like Matrix might be a better option. We're all autists after all.

I do second the suggestion to go to a server owner forum or similar to get suggestions.
