I came back after months of being away just to post this comment, and I probably will scurry away again after this.
I hate this. Max seems to simultaneously want to be like "ARE YOU TRIGGERED, BRO? YOU TRIGGERED? IS WHAT I'M SAYING UPSETTING YOUR DELICATE SENSIBILITIES?" while at the same time bringing up his childhood trauma in an attempt to justify the way he is and, perhaps, gain some pity from the viewer. If you look at the comments he's liked just about every single positive comment there. This dude is preening the comments.
Call me old-fashioned, but if you're going to troll, you can't give a fuck about what other people think about you. However, it is very,
very clear that Max gives so many fucks about what people think about him. He wants to be perceived as this master troll but he gets upset when people see through his very flimsy façade; mad enough to call out the people who call him out on his bullshit by name. It's like all the worst parts of Eminem's discography all pushed together into one song, both the over-the-top in-your-face edginess with the "oh god I had it so hard as a kid, you don't even know." Like, yes Max, you can fantasize about whatever you want, but you also have to realize that people are going to have objections if you say that shit out loud. Even fucking vile racists hate pedos, dude (unless, you know, they also happen to be pedos). People are hard-wired to want to protect children and even if you never, ever act on these fantasies (which I sure as hell hope you don't), most people are rightfully not going to be too thrilled if you go out of your way to just fully indulge in that taboo. And just because you don't act on some shit you fantasize about, doesn't mean that the videos of you verbally humiliating your dead-inside girlfriend on camera aren't going to be used as evidence in court later.
He wants to be le epic troll but he also wants people to understand his tragic backstory. Nah, son. Pick one. You can't have both. And you won't pick one because you're a self-obsessed creep who is entirely incapable of caring about the feelings of other people, let alone trying to understand why people feel the way they do about you.
