BASED! Max, an Autistic Journey - review: this game helped me have even less sympathy for autistics

Remember back when games were about fighting aliens, saving the princess, multiplayer splitscreen deathmatches, killing zombies, and just having a little fun?

....Those were good days.

I've only looked at screenshots, but is this like a terrible autistic version of Eternal Darkness? Like instead of a sanity meter, we have an autism meter.

Finally a game where I can replace it's text with JULLAAYYYY in comic sans and still be on topic.

I'm sorry (also I'm late as fuck) but why would you make a game about a neurological disorder?

Probably for the same reason people thought games about Diabetes and Asthma would do well:

I jest. These weren't made for market. They were made to help really little kids who were just diagnosed and only available via a mail service.

Why are there blue puzzle pieces in the background at all times?

That's fucking terrible design.

Also this game is 70% stock RPGMaker VX Ace Assets.
I'm curious if this is a nod to the ribbon for autism where it's composed of multi-colored puzzle pieces as a metaphor for how "the pieces don't always fit". Which represents the difficulty of fitting in for autistic people.
