All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

I can't tell who actually supports trump and who is just kidding.
Just know that if you actually like trump and like all trump supporters on the internet you have an IQ over 130. If all of that is true it means you're insanely easy to manipulate.

Let us know who you are loud and proud so we can make lolcow threads for you if the internet still exists in 2020.

It's like how the conservatives took a bunch of flak a few years ago for saying something along the lines of "the democratic party is the modern incarnation of slavery".

It's pretty ironic to hear that coming from the Republicans, though.

Trumps popularity is so bizarre. I know it's kind of a leap but seriously with his persistent racist douchebaggery an early Hitler comparison keeps popping into my head. It's the angry ranting charisma that does it I think.

It's an asinine comparison. The world is full of political demagogues, most of them weren't as bad as Hitler (although don't get me wrong they were still pretty bad).

As for Trump's popularity, this is the explanation.

I would say it's not wise to call Null a lolcow but we all know it's true

We're going to use you for radiation experiments.
Let me guess you like trump because you're a small business owner who built this all himself just like trump and galt?

I can't be too hard on you, after all...

I might be entirely wrong, but I'm relatively certain the reason Kasich is still in the primary is mostly due to Ohio being a swing state needed for the general election win. Christie really didn't have a massive following, and his state doesn't hold nearly as much clout as Florida or Ohio in a general election. It seems absurd that Christie's endorsement of Trump suggests a Trump/Christie ticket. This is speculation, but after the last debate I'm more inclined to think Kasich is sticking around solely for a VP spot.

Trump is most likely gonna win the GOP primary, and I'm inclined to believe the last debate's friendliness between Kasich and Trump suggests he's hedging his bets with a VP spot with Trump. If not, I'm guessing it'll be a Trump/Rubio ticket.

Also, RIP Bernie :cuck:

Their attacks on each other have been far too personal and direct for that to be really plausible. It's not like Reagan/Bush where Bush had attacked Reagan on policy and called his plans "voodoo economics." That stuff was policy. Rubio has been calling him an outright "con artist" and a crook.

He also literally said Trump pissed himself and had a small dick.

Let it sink in that that is how ridiculous things have gotten so far and we've not even got to the general election yet.

If it comes down to Trump vs Clinton, then the debates are gonna be like a goddamn undead gay pride parade with all the skeletons coming out of those closets.

I think the hypothetical Trump/Clinton debates might be relatively impersonal. The Republican primaries were quite a different rhetorical environment - the relative lack of policy differences, drawn-out nature of the contest and the large number of candidates combined to make personal attacks likely. Trump's personal predilection for them helps, but the 2008 and 2012 contests also got pretty nasty and personal at times.

I agree that a Trump/Rubio or Trump/Cruz ticket is unlikely but I think it is likely that Trump's running mate will be somebody with political experience. I'm still betting on Guliani.

Trump should have his next season of the Apprentice be for his VP bid.

Watching Christie and Jeb run around New York trying to sell Subway sandwiches to dirty homeless. Man that's a show.
