Men like meat because it feels masculine: men consume more beef and chicken than women and establish and confirm a masculine identity, “the study claims.

  • UCLA experts surveyed approximately 1,700 US adults about their diet and gender sensations.
  • The more men follow traditional gender roles, the more beef / chicken they eat
  • According to researchers, the same tendency is not seen among women
  • Findings may help encourage men to switch to a sustainable meat-free diet

Men like to eat more meat than women. Because I find it useful to “establish and confirm a masculine identity.”

University researchers California, Los Angeles We surveyed more than 1,700 US adults to see if the stereotype that “real men eat meat” really works.

They found that, unlike women, more men feel they have to obey. Traditional concept of masculinity, The more beef and chicken they tended to eat.

According to the team, the findings could help inform future efforts to encourage consumers to switch to something more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Meat-free meal..

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles surveyed more than 1,700 US adults to see if the stereotype that “real men eat meat” really works. They found that, unlike women, men tended to eat beef (left) and chicken (right) so much that they felt they had to follow the traditional notion of masculinity.

The study was conducted by psychologists Daniel Rosenfeld and Janet Tomiyama at the University of California, Los Angeles.

“Our findings suggest that shifting men’s perception of the ideal gender role from traditional masculine can reduce beef and chicken consumption,” Rosenfeld said. Mr. says.

“This is especially promising for beef, given that beef production poses a much greater environmental threat than other forms of meat production.”

In their study, the duo targeted 1,706 US adults aged 18-88 years, both in terms of meat consumption and openness to becoming vegan or vegetarian, as well as gender sensations and traditional gender roles. We investigated the suitability for.

“First, men reported eating all kinds of meat more often, including beef, pork, fish and chicken, compared to women. The effect size of these differences diminishes in this order.” The researcher explained.

The answer is also that among men, a greater fit to traditional gender stereotypes, both more frequent consumption of the two types of meat (beef and chicken) and a lower level of openness to vegetarianism. Showed to be related to.

No similar effect was observed on meat consumption for fish or pork.

However, the same tendency was not seen among women. This suggests that men may eat more meat to test and carry out their sense of traditional masculine identity.

“A deeper understanding of the role of gender may help reduce public meat consumption to improve human health and environmental sustainability,” the researchers concluded.
“Self-attributable masculine / feminine gender differences between men provide insight into these phenomena,” the researchers wrote in their paper.

Eating meat and dairy products is harmful to the environment

Eating meat, eggs and dairy products can have a negative impact on the environment in many ways.

Cows, pigs and other livestock release large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. Methane in the atmosphere is less than other greenhouse gases, but about 25 times more effective than carbon dioxide in trapping heat.

Raising livestock also means turning forests into agricultural land. This means that trees that absorb CO2 will be logged, further increasing climate change. Approximately one-third of the world’s grain is used to feed animals raised for human consumption, so more trees are needed to convert land to crop cultivation. It has been cut down.

Factory farms and crop cultivation also require large amounts of water, and 542 liters of water are used to produce only one chicken breast.
In addition to this, the nitrogen-based fertilizers used in crops increase nitrous oxide emissions. Nitrous oxide is about 300 times more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere. These fertilizers can also flow into rivers, further contributing to pollution.

Overall, research shows that becoming a
vegetarian can cut carbon emissions from food in half. You can reduce this even more by becoming vegan.

What sort of gigafaggot even answered a survey question in that manner without it being a blatant joke? "Huehuehue I eat meat I feel manly like I conquered an enemy" what type of retard tier shit is that?
I have met a few women in my life and of those that didn't drive me to murder/suicide levels of rage most of them have shared a love of the taste of meat, so maybe eating meat really does make you smarter on a small scale as well as helping long term evolution of denser brain tissue. But I've never once in my life met a fellow man who thought of eating meat as the right diet because it made them feel "manly" lol meat just tastes good and is good nutritionally. I don't eat steak because I feel like I defeated a cow in single combat and thus feel more manly, I eat steak because it's goddamn delicious.

This almost seems like some psyop shit to try and tie meat eating to masculinity, which they've already labeled as toxic and bad, so they can continue to push their bug eating agenda

Real meat (and only real meat) contains creatinine. This is one of the substances your body uses to replace muscle tissue. Basically, you can steal the stuff an animal was going to use to rebuild its muscles by killing and eating them, then use it to build your own muscles instead. Yes, it's technically possible for a vegetarian/vegan to do that too using creatinine their body produced on its own, but it gives them a disadvantage when it comes to building muscle and also not being made fun of for their obnoxious dietary crusade. So, this isn't just an issue of identity, but biology. High protein diets are evidenced to increase your physical strength, as long as you also exercise during them.

Man they are gonna piss themselves when they find out how I drink my coffee. I hope they have a fainting couch and somebody on standby for a four-page expose on black coffee and whether its in support of BLM or is it racist or some shit.

No I like it because it's easy to cook and flavor for me, especially fish due to the sheer amount of recipes for it.
What am I gonna do with asparagus? Steam it again but in reverse?
Also because meat dishes in restaurants are almost always cheaper - and I'm not risking my dinner over some nouveau shit like a vegan gastro bar.
Well fuck, man, let's just go balls deep into this shit:

OH I might know the study this stupid shit is going on about, it's probably that one study about chemically castrating worms or removing their sex organ genes or whatever, and how it slows down cell division so you reach your hayflick limit more slowly - I think the conclusion of the study was that getting ready for sexual maturity "lowers" your life expectancy or some shit.
It's been over a decade so they might be trying it on actual animals now, and this retardo journo read the newer studies - which I doubt would assume removing your dick as an adult would somehow make you live longer.

Like all things journalism they didn't even bother going from A to Z, they saw A and tried to molest it into a 3910931039018409123-//!`

So what were the actual questions?

This reads to me like someone did a survey that more "masculine" men eat more meat than less masculine men and women. Then is making assumptions this is due to ideas of manliness. Unless my skimming missed it, I can't see where it directly links eat meat to wanting to be manly. Just that more manly men eat more. Whatever "manly" means. Probably coding that gay men are less manly and all that problematic shit.

Maybe men need to eat more meat. Less masculine men for whatever reason, eat less. Probably lack of muscles. Less requirement. Addiction to soy.

I'm also sick of articles that just rely on the reader knowing nothing. Methane has a short term life cycle in the atmosphere, unlike CO2. CO2 is by and large the main greenhouse gas we need to worry about for climate change. Focusing on methane is a distraction.

You can farm animals on deforested land, you also don't need to. You can also raise animals on land you can't use for crops. Also on land that still has a natural ecosystem. Unlike fields of one crop. It's a valuable part of using the land efficiently to help feed humans.

Complaining about gain used for animals. Ignoring a lot of food for animals is not fit for human consumption and often a byproduct. It's more efficient and environmental with less waste to turn leftover agricultural products and plants that humans can't eat into feed for animals. Who then turn it into food. Otherwise, it's material or plants that just die and rot into CO2.

How much land would we need, also land capable of being cultivated to get rid of animals and feed everyone on the planet from plants?

This whole thing is just shit. "being a man is bad, it's bad for the environment" non-sense.

Also, steak with sea salt, cracked pepper, and garlic butter is fucking delicious and I'll fight you if you say otherwise.
Good job on finding the Vegan out. But...

All salt is extracted from the sea no matter how the crystals look or how it is granulated. Black pepper will crack in a mill so i assume "cracked pepper" means coarsely ground black pepper. It's amusing to see burgers try food snobbery.

You either like a steak with salt, freshly ground pepper, salt and garlic butter or you like a [retardedly expensive] breed or cut of beef, [faggoty] salt flakes, coarsely ground [faggoty variant or origin] black pepper and garlic butter. Maybe find an impossible to get garlic variety too for the butter.

What you originally proposed makes you sound like a faux pretentious American who once saw a cooking show. My last alternative makes you a pretentious faggot who may or may not cook or eat well.

Yes, I hunt my own meat by chasing it down, grill it using only what I can find in the forest where I hunt it, and eat the entire animal in a single sitting. It makes me feel manly. Is there a problem?

Do you guys remember when the Green New Deal first came out and everyone backed off the FAQ saying they never really said that you couldn't get rid of farting cows and they were really embarrassed?

And then a couple of years later they're all openly saying that farting cows are the reason we have to shut down the entire meat industry?

What the fuck is happening?
pets have a bigger carbon footprint than cows, yet we aren't banning them. How strange.
