Less than five years after tying the knot, Mary-Kate Olsen has split from Pierre Olivier Sarkozy, but the ongoing pandemic is preventing her from actually filing for divorce.

TMZ reported on Wednesday that Mary-Kate is asking for an emergency court order to get the process sped up.
In legal documents, the former "Full House" star said she actually tried filing for divorce in New York on April 17, but she was informed that New York courts would not accept divorce filings due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The one exception, she was told, was if the divorce was an emergency.
She claims it is.

In pleading with the court, the fashion mogul alleged that her lawyers got an email from Pierre's legal team this week that states she has until May 18 to get her property out of their apartment. Further, she says that only way to protect her property is through a divorce filing, which would trigger an automatic court order preventing him from disposing of her property, TMZ said.

Mary-Kate said she needs more time and asked the deadline to be moved to May 30, noting that the pandemic and city guidelines are making it impossible to meet the May 18 date.
Pierre supposedly hasn't responded to her request for an extension.
"She claims Pierre is trying to force her out, because he terminated their lease without her knowledge," TMZ said, citing court documents.
Mary-Kate is asking the court to allow her to formally file for divorce. In her legal paperwork, she's also requested their prenuptial agreement be enforced.
