Oh right, I was supposed to go see this today. Too bad I spoiled it for myself.

It's like "I killed Gwen Stacy" in reverse lmao

Did they make Thanos "that purple guy everyone is going to eventually punch" or did they stick to the source material where he goes on monologues about various philosophies and generally comes off as unstoppable if he wasn't held back by his own personality flaws? The latter is ideal but a dumb brute Thanos is popular among hack writers.

They went more for some sort of tired nihilist/well intentioned extremist.
Thanos backstory is, that on his homeworld of Titan (now another planet and not one of the moons in our solar system) an overpopulation crisis was going to happen and he suggetsed that a genocide of half the population would ensure the survival of the rest. He was banished and then his prediction came to be.
Now he believes he is doing all life in the universe a favor by going from planet to planet, killing a large percentage of the populace and therefore ensuring the rest has enough supplies to survive. He genuinely believes he is doing the right thing and justifies many of his actions through words. Not by overly long philosophical rambles, but at least a sort of insane logic.

Later on in the movie Thanos also kills Gamora to get one of the Infinity Stones he needs and starting from there on there is a bit of a shift supposedly. Turns out in his own twisted way he genuinely cared for Gamora and killing her puts him in a state of grief and misery, though as he says it, he has to move on to fullfil his destiny for the universe's sake.

There isn't really anything about him having personality flaws that keep him down (in fact, his ego is not as huge as it ever was in the comics) and in the end he doesn't make himself as much into a god as you expect. He gets all the stones, snaps his fingers and then vanishes to reemerge at some random planet and watch the sunset, in a way similar to how Infinity gauntlet ended, indicating that while he may have some second thoughts about just having turned half the universe into dust, he may believe he still did the right thing for the greater good and can now finally rest, his lifelong crusade comign to an end.

Thanos in this movie is more of his own entity than really a "faithful" adaptation of Starling's character in Infinity Gauntlet.

That does sounds more like an original character than following the comics. Eh, the MCU isn't really my cup of tea anyways.

As I siad, he is more his own entity than anything faithful to the comics.
There is a reason why I personally consider these movies more their own entity than anything related to the comics as a whole. You want good old Thanos? Read Infinity Gauntlet or some other comics featuring him.
You want a sympathetic Final Fantasy villain who looks less like a bishi and more like a raisin? Go for movie-Thanos.

Frnakly, the best moment in the entire movie for me was just at the end, when..
Thanos snaps his fingers and anything you could gneuinely care for in the MCU past Phase 1 just dies. Guardians of the Galaxy? Dead except Rocket Racoon. Falcon? dead, Black Panther? Dead. Bucky Barnes? Dead. After every SJW with no brain geeked out how progressive Black Panther is, what did this movie do? Turned the green field outside of Wakanda City into a battlefield for the turf war between the Avengrs and some of thanos troopes and then killed off Black Panther by making him turn to dust. I sat in theater and watched some balck people cry bullshit. Best comedic moment of the year.

The ending is both dumb and smart. Dumb in the sense that the deaths are predictably not permanent, but smart in that part 2’s deaths being inevitably permanent will be more impactful

So @UglyOldJafar what was the deal of Thanos not wearing his helmet? And was Death ever referenced since a line in the mid-credit scene of the first Avengers movie seem to imply that character's existence?

I have no idea why he did not wear his helmet most of the time, there was no real reason why he didn't in story. As for Mistress Death, forget it. If you want to see him get a boner for a skeletton lady, read the comics or some porn. I heard "The Infinity Fisting" is surprisingly high quality.

Última edición:
I usually don't like the marvel movies but my friends asked me to come and I genuinely enjoyed most of it, especially the scenes with the guardians of the galaxy.

Also, thanos was a dilf and I want him to stick the infinity gauntlet up my ass.

The movie rule of always taking off helmets so we can see the actors act has apparently spread over to CGI characters as well. I think it makes sense in this case since, by Marvel standards, they went above and beyond to make the villain more of an actual character.

Anyone else genuinely surprised by the Red Skull cameo? I know Hugo Weaving did not like playing the part in Captain America, and never expected to see him in a Marvel movie again.

It's not Hugo Weaving.

Spider-Man drama is soooooooooo much better with loudmouth girls overreacting to everything.

So this actually curious, just for it's sake.

Plz somebody tell me Loki dies. With Spider-FanBoy, the Scarlet Bitch and the SJW-approved characters dead, killing the lust magnet of Tumblrinas will bring us so much salt from tumblr/twitter we'll have to reopen the Salt Mines.

The first "negative" review of this movie and apparently the title got changed since most of the top comments are from people saying the movie is not PC. Also the devout MCU fans have come out of woodwork.

TBH Crowder is not really reliable on movies since he looks for the political meanings more than everything else like Alex Jones when he said that "The Dark Knight" is Pro-State
