I'm still curious if they'll keep Thanos around for the fourth Avengers movie coming out in 2019 or he'll be defeated in this one. Hopefully it's the former, because I'd hate for him to turn out to be another mediocre villain after all this buildup.

So who do you think bites the dust in this first part? It seems the trailer is implication Vision might be one while I'm going to predict Bucky and Scarlet Witch.

Probably RDJ ( :( ), Vision, War Machine, that Hawk guy, and maybe finally Loki.

The actor who plays Captain America has made it pretty clear he wants out of his contract. So he'll probably die and Bucky will be the next Captain America (like in the comics).

If Tony goes, I think they will save that for the second part. I could also see War Machine and Loki dying will cause mourning to rival the funeral of Kim Jong-il.

Most of the black heroes are going because Marvel can replace them with Black Panther. I'm sure they can't wait to kill off Tony and stop paying RDJ 50 million for every additional movie he does.

*Note: I like Don Cheadle. But goddamn he has so little to work with in these movies.

He will. They're filming them both back-to-back. They were originally called Infinity Wars Part I and Part II, though they seem to have dropped the numbering from the title.

It worked so well for The Hobbit and the Matrix sequels!

Don't forget The Toxic Avenger parts 2 and 3!

I don't know, I don't like the direction Marvel's got planned for him.

This Thanos thing is going to become the next fucking meme.
As for thoughts, I’m really excited excited to see how they do this film, I’m looking forward to see who Peter Dinklidge plays in this film (some speculate Modok, or even Doctor Doom).
The only true dissapointment I’ve actually had with the MCU so far has been the last two Iron Man films, and GotG Vol. 2. Everything else has been a fair installment in the series, and even if they aren’t completely original, they still tell fun stories with likable characters.
But fucking seriously Fox, give Marvel the Fantastic Four back already.

I'm definitely going to wind up seeing this, because basically I enjoy all the Marvel films, even Thor 2. However, there are a couple of points that bother me.

1. Character overload. They've got all the Avengers, old and new, plus Spider-Man, Ant Man, Doctor Strange and Black Panther, plus the Guardians of the Galaxy, plus various supporting casts from the respective franchises. There are still characters who haven't been properly explored, because they made their debut when the MCU was already pretty crowded. I have no idea what Vision's powers are, for instance, and I have real difficulty giving a shit about the Winter Soldier.

2. A boring villain. I mean, yeah, Thanos is supposed to be this badass motherfucker, but all we've really seen of him is a guy who sits around and orders people about. There's nothing about him that makes me want to know more. And if he's competing with about 40 pre-existing characters for attention, I doubt that's going to change. IMO, they should have done something like they did with Loki, where he's an antagonist in another film, then he becomes a much bigger threat.

For 1, I think if they kinda keep what they did with GotG2, we should be okay in terms of character balancing. Everyone should get a few cool things, and the ones that die in this part will probably get a bit more, since they’re gonna die and all.

As for 2, it looks like it’ll be this and the last Avengers that kind of builds up him as a character. As of right now, he’s only been built up as a threat, but now that he’ll be in the forefront, we’ll see what makes Thanos Thanos.

I’d also be totally okay with there not being much character stuff in the last movie and just have a bunch of cool team attacks and team ups and quipping and all.

Part 1 must be Thanos fucking everyone's shit up on Earth, grabbing the time, space and soul gems and going back into space, with the surviving heros chasing after him.

Part 2 is where Thanos steals the remaining gems from the Nova corps and the collector, and once he has all of them in gauntlet Thor, the guardians and whoever survived on earth join forces to stop him on a final showdown.

I watched the Thanos clips from the other movies and they are so... fucking... boring. The MCU isn't bad as villains go, Loki was entertaining, Ultron was genuinely creepy (thanks to the magic monotone of James Spader) but the dialogue Thanos is saddled with is so bland and generic, and Josh Brolin's delivery has the aggression and pathos of a constipated trucker.

Also, fuck the MCU because Square is preoccupied with making two MCU games and has put my precious Deus Ex franchise on hold.

He’s already got the Nova Corps gem in his gauntlet in the trailer. The purple one.

Don't want to watch the trailer yet, but I just want to say that I am looking forward to this.

Even though I agree with the idea that the superhero movie trend has been going on for a bit too long, the Marvel movies I felt had a pretty consistent level of quality, so I look forward to see how this all ends. Don't want to get myself too hyped up though because that just leads to disappointment.

Marvel did take the time to build the world and everything too, so there’s more investment there than another team up cape movie that just happened.

Thanos is a mediocre villain. Friend zoned by Death is just lame.
