lol, not to be an asshole, but you could have simply said William Stryker and that would had been the end of that. But even me summing it up is more brainpower than any of their writers and Hollywood could ever put out.
I will be honest, In my mind I constantly confuse Stryker with Trask to the point I think they are one person.

The movies made that mistake by making Stryker a military man. In the comics, he was in the military but resigned to become a preacher and was more of a religious extremist that believed mutants were literally demons while in the movies, Stryker and Trask have pretty much the same motives.

Captain Marvel is actually a pretty good character. The problem is they keep pushing her as a hero. Accept that she's an unlikeable asshole who happens to be on the "Good Guys" side and she works just fine. She's like the bad version of Steve Rogers - he is everything people imagine a soldier should be. Whereas Carol Danvers is the "just following orders," "civilians get out of the way!" sort. I'm not going to say anything about pilots... but there's a reason she's a pilot.
This. They're trying to do like WWE did with Roman Reigns, and are making people react the same way. Make her a huge cunt the proper way, and people will end up gravitating towards her.

Also we have yet to see Natasha assassinate someone. (Look at her comics. There's a particularly shocking one with her very first Red Room mission. She has to meet with a family in Cuba under the guise of a Russian businesswoman to get the intel they have. So she decides to terrorize them into talking. This includes detonating a car bomb in front of their house and planting an American Flag on their property to make it look like they are guilty.. Later she is told she must kill a different family (specifically the parents) as well as the female agent she was working with under the guise of helping them defect. She kills the couple but then she also kills the other agent Marina along with Marinas cat, and her boyfriend)

Tl;dr they could have gone even darker with MCU Nat but didn't because Disney. I believe this film will change that.

- A budding romance between an X-man and one of the Brotherhood will be the film's subplot
Black Rogue & Gambit who is no longer Cajun but probably Mexican or something. She's gonna be a domineering bitch but he's into it because he's now a total soyboy.

I know Rogue was the one affiliated with the Brotherhood but they'll probably change it so she's never done anything wrong and it's Gambit instead. She'll give a speech(which will be filled with very poorly veiled allusions to race) about how he's working for the enemy, he should be ashamed, how dare he etc. then he'll defect because he's simping hard.

I also wanna believe this film will be different but it is the MCU so I'm not expecting anything that strays too far from the formula.

Would it be like the first season of the Netflix show or the second (aka in name only)?
Dunno. Hopefully a bigger budget might make something watchable?

Much to my surprise, I really liked D'Onofrio as Kingpin, but not much else about anything about that series. I'm not even sure I finished Season 2. Even the Punisher stuff ended up being silly.

The Netflix shows started out as taking place in the MCU but they seemed to largely abandon that as time went on. There was a rumor that Disney was interested in keeping the Daredevil and Punisher casts but were looking to recast Iron Fist and Luke Cage. I'm really curious as to how Disney plans on handling all that; both Punisher and Daredevil are too popular, I think, to not do anything with once that Netflix clause expires.

you know what the mcu could use? a new daredevil movie, not a show for streaming but a full on movie. I actually liked the Ben Affleck movie and ironically I think he played a better batman when he was matt Murdock, but honestly it pissed me so much that due to copyright bs, they had to alter or cut a lot DD's connections to Spiderman. Keep in mind for years the DD and Spidey stories were almost companion titles. Phil Urich was both a daily bugle reporter and an ally of Daredevils, the two often teamed up, the punisher often tangled with both and often hated working with them, hell the villain kingpin was originally a Spiderman villain not a daredevil one. now I know there's still a lot of copyright bs between Sony/Disney. really I think Sony is the one company left that Disney hasn't gotten the marvel rights from, but i can see them working some kind of deal to give us the first marvel team up movie. hell they're already working on a what if anthology series so why not adapt the other popular anthology comic?

iirc Tom Holland was pushing hard for the Netflix shit to be brought into MCU canon, no clue on the validity of those stories though. It seems like Vincent D'Onofrio is pushing hard for them to keep it alive so we'll see.

it's because of Disney's "no R rated content in the mcu rule." we have shows like punisher, daredevil and even Jessica jones which're as violent, graphic or intense as possible, but since Disney controls the mcu its a big no no when it comes to integrating that kind of content. hell once upon a Deadpool was a testing ground to see if DP could exist on a PG-13 context. Big shock he doesn't.*

I only like the original Deadpool movie, the sequel can fuck right off. black domino? lesbian what's her name? yukario yashida? or whoever the girl who paled around with wolverine in the comics was...beside jubilee I mean.

The MCU needs to die off, and I know I've been saying this for years but I still stand by it.

Disney's seeming invincibility and Iger's megalomania are what's kept the capeshit fad afloat way too long

To their credit, they're the only major franchise that hasn't went broke despite going full woke.

I want Charlie back to play Matt. He was perfect and he's come a long way from Stardust.

But because of Perlmutter I think they may just start over from scratch.

I loved the Daredevil series.

Daredevil is easily one of the best damn Marvel heroes (he's in my top 3), and I thought the Netflix series gave the character the respect that he deserves.

I'd like for the show to continue where Netflix left off, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Coincidentally, Deborah Ann Woll (actress that played Karen Page) just tweeted this a few hours ago:

The "you can't use these characters in a live action production" clause in the Netflix contract would expire in 2021.

The third Deadpool movie is now written by 2 women who worked on an animated show.
Speaking of Black Domino, that race-swapping costed the life of a stunt woman.

Reynolds supposedly has full creative control over Deadpool 3 which means that he will decide what's in the movie and the 2 credited writers will be yes-women whose job it will be to turn the stupid ideas of Reynolds into a 2 hour narrative.
Reynolds will be the only real creator of that movie, everyone else will do his bidding.

Jesus, I can't even decide which of the two is worse. Female writers that got ahead in Pedowood are very likely to suck at jokes/action/etc. and preach woke, while having the lead having creative control is likely to make the film about whatever autistic subject he finds funny. My guess is that we'll have the worse of both worlds.
