IDK if it's been mentioned yet, but in the comics, there have only been two Black Panthers in the actual run, not counting T'Challa's predecessors.

T'Challa... and Shuri.

If they continue with the IP, Shuri's getting the mantle. In terms of capeshit continuity, there is simply no other option. They could do the disgusting and cheap 'CGI the face of a dead actor onto someone else' and have that 'someone else' be an individual with a good Chadwick Boseman impersonation, but something tells me that this time, unlike the Star Wars films, it wouldn't fly.

I say we just go for it and have Speedball in a trenchcoat so we can kill the whole thing and get back to making other kinds of movies

Shuri at least has character development and if you factor in the other characters from the first film it could potentially work on its own.

I just don't want Storm to show up because her whole relationship with T'Challa was unnecessary and dull. Marvel only did that because woke and 'o yiss let's marry the two most prominent unmarried darkies hyuk hyuk.' I pretend they were never married. Doubly that she was ever on the F4 too.

Now if casting her please get an actual dark woman.

Jarvis is Vision in the MCU, and he's dead.

Don Cheadle would make a pretty cool Brak Panther too, come to think of it.
Brak Panther you say?

Kinda fucked at this point. Cooglar is going to have to rewrite the script since filming was expected in March next year

In August 2020, following the death of Boseman from colon cancer, Coogler stated he had been unaware of Boseman's illness, and had "spent the last year preparing, imagining and writing words for him to say [in the sequel], that we weren’t destined to see".[329] Feige and other executives at Marvel Studios involved on the Black Panther films were also unaware of Boseman's illness. Prior to Boseman's death, filming was expected to begin in March 2021.[330]

How can that be true? Dude was diagnosed in 2016 and Disney wasn't aware? He didn't tell them in 4 years? The did one physical for insurance purposes when they hired him in 2014 and didn't bother check again despite his physical decay over the last 4 years? Incredible mismanganement if true and kind of a not nice business practice on his part. X to doubt.

If anyone in Hollywood is scumfuck to keep working a man while he's dying of colon cancer even after multiple physicals it'd be the sick fucks at Disney.

I fucking hate Black Panther and the MCU as a whole, but Chad Boseman did not deserve to go out like he did. I think the moment the cancer diagnosis was confirmed, he should've been able to just retire and get treatment for his cancer as soon as Black Panther was done filming.

At this point, I wouldn't put it past Bob Iger's final act as CEO of Disney to pull a Courtney Love and give Robert Downey Jr. a heart-shaped box full of drugs just to make sure he relapses and has to keep playing Iron Man to get his next fix.

I definitely agree that the Mouse has shady as hell business practices, but one thing that I’m curious about, assuming that this is true, is why Boseman took on other roles post-diagnosis (like Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods) besides Black Panther. If he did so willingly, I’ve got mad respect for the dude for having the grit and determination to complete a film shoot while he’s dying of cancer.

I think he genuinely loved acting and wanted to keep doing it until he passed.

So you got Chadwick Boseman dying and a pandemic fucking Disney hard to the point a sale could be possible (though unlikely). I wonder what the MCU is going to look like now.

The future of the MCU is pretending that a brown soyboy who chugged HGH is some kind of Adonis while a dumpy blonde calls you an incel for wishing Robert Downy Jr. was still playing Iron Man.

Yeah, every account suggests he deliberately kept it from everyone and was determined to keep working, with Disney or elsewhere. Had he'd been diagnosed and they found out, they certainly would have replaced him before BP filmed, specifically for this reason here. They couldn't have been thrilled to see one of the people who by many accounts they intended to build the future of the franchise of drop dead one weekend out of nowhere.

Larson and either Chadwick, or Anthony Mackie. Probably Chadwick because Mackie has never been know as a particularly swole individual.
