Harlem is right next to queens and despite that an attack from 5 years ago isn't mentioned nor is it mentioned in luke cage which takes place in harlem and has flashbacks to right after the attack happened.

Shuri, in my opinion, works best as the "Q" character. That was one of my favorite aspects of the Black Panther movie, IMO. The MCU kind of made T'Challa a James Bond-like character with all of the gadgets he got. And Boseman's charisma made T'Challa ... Cool.

If Marvel absolutely has to make another Black Panther movie, then I would make Okoye the next Black Panther. Recasting Boseman shouldn't be an option at this point.

Recasting is definitely out of the question. Replacing Terrance Howard or Ed Norton was simply a matter of them not being able to work with the studio so they lost their jobs. Boseman died tragically to a brutal cancer, it's just unsavory to replace him in the same way it would have been unsavory to have someone take over Heath Ledger's Joker.

You know, ironically I think Boseman would have made a pretty good replacement joker in TDKR. It was a mistake not doing that.

Even though I do agree that Shuri looks like a strong possibility. I'm skeptical that MCU wants their movies fronted with two women and a twink.

If Shuri takes over, Black Panther is getting demoted. Some character has to be elevated. Either that or MCU is making a fast be-line to Fantastic Four or X-Men...

They could elevate Falcon and turn him into Captain America. I don't like idea, cause I prefer him to stay Falcon. But, I imagine some sort of shakeup is coming down the pipeline.

They already did that in the comics at one point, so it's definitely going to happen - Sam and Bucky's adventures.
Also, anyone else think it's a bit of a bitch move on Cap's part to go "yeah, I'm going back in time to relive my life," but not give that opportunity to his best friend Bucky, who also comes from that timeline? Or is he so damaged, missing his arm so it's not a possibility for him?

Thing is, I like Sam's character enough for me to go "why not" to him being the new Captain America. He's not one of these cringe black power fantasies like BP was.

They why not is because I like Sam as the Falcon. The Falcon is his own unique character, not saddled with the legacy of another. Nor, would he be enhanced like Steve through the strength serum.

If Captain America was always conceptualized as a mantle(ala phantom/green lantern): Then I would have no issue.

But, for me, it just seems like a cheap gimmick...

Thats just my opinion though...

I don't know about the comics Falcon, but MCU Falcon is a totally unexceptional guy steals a suit from the military (of which there are undoubtedly many, many more) who then is given a shield because the guy who was trained to use it dumped it on him after being retired for 50 years.

Maybe, just maybe, they can give Falcon a character instead of just having him steal/borrow other people's shit.

as a movie itself it was ok pretty average for an mcu film but it's the pedestal it got put on that damns it to many an alog shit list.

The movie itself was praised by the mainstream media as this big important moment in black rights, everyone was acting like this was the first major black superhero movie (conveniently forgetting the blade trilogy, meteor man, steel, spawn and hancock) and had a black director and crew was seems as some grandiose statement and anyone who didn't like or expressed the tiniest bit of indifference to the movie was labeled a racist. Almost similar to how anyone who talked bad about captain marvel got labeled sexist.
I still think it's an ok superhero movie but it's not the citizen kane or ben hur of the mcu people make it out to be

When you really break it down, Black Panther was just a shitty live action Lion King, not to be confused with the actual shitty live action Lion King.

Honestly the first one worked for me. I liked it, the humor could have been more edgy but it was a fine 80s film.

The comics were awesome and they have alot to work with for source material.

yeah the 86 movie is a guilty pleasure of mine and it is funny to watch as a snapshot of the era because it's just dripping with 80s cheese.
But I'm not holding my breath for a new one. Howard is probably the only marvel character still more or less popular only on the realm of comics since not every one shares our sentiment on his one movie that was made.

Kinda fucked at this point. Cooglar is going to have to rewrite the script since filming was expected in March next year.

In August 2020, following the death of Boseman from colon cancer, Coogler stated he had been unaware of Boseman's illness, and had "spent the last year preparing, imagining and writing words for him to say [in the sequel], that we weren’t destined to see".[329] Feige and other executives at Marvel Studios involved on the Black Panther films were also unaware of Boseman's illness. Prior to Boseman's death, filming was expected to begin in March 2021.[330]
