Not that he deserve to be shot like how the Punisher would deal with him, but LEEROY (Jenkins) is exactly the kind of person Daredevil beats up every night.
It's an example of them wanting to have their cake and eat it too. If it was the guy's first offense I would've been sympathetic, but they had to make him a repeat offender for some reason. There are homeless shelters you can go to for food, you don't need to steal for the most part.

This is pure fanfiction. You don't need to reach that far to justify their dumb virtue signaling.

Matt mentioned about how Leroy was a dindu in the last episode. They are clearly victimizing him. The system is forcing him to become who he is. He was right and he only wanted "the true justice" from Matt and he couldn't deliver it.

The writers couldn't see how retarded that looked like from outside of their circlejerk. They didn't create a retard on purpose. They created a "relatable victim of the system" like this because they are the actual retards.
Matt is a defense attorney and his job is to zealously represent his client's interests, regardless of how big a piece of shit the client is. Call it fanfiction all you want, but I guarantee you that entire sequence triggered some poor ex-PD's PTSD for how accurate it was.

I just want to know what the deal with that God damn asterisk is. Not enough to actually watch the movie mind you... and I have a feeling it's gonna be something really lame and gay.
oh, I figured that was in a trailer or something and I didn't care enough to check
it's probably like "there was a previous team that has the trademark so AKSHUALLY lololol"

I don't think anyone has a problem with Matt defending him. It's just the way the criminal's schlocky monologue is written and shot is done in such a way that we're obviously meant to feel bad for him but the dude's a career criminal whining about how he wanted dessert so he stole a ton of boxes of candy and now doesn't think he deserves any punishment.

Matt told a client to fuck off in the latest episode because he knew that guy was guilty. He would have told Leroy the same if he didn't believe in him especially after getting insulted numerous times.
Matt only takes the cases of the innocents, even in that dirty business he tries to be the good guy. He (and the writing team) thinks that nigger is right and the whole narrative supports it. Leroy is the Disney's idea of a victim and it is ridiculous. There is no need for mental gymnastics. It is just bad writing.

I think it's gonna be something "clever" like what they did with "Agatha all along", but probably even gayer than that ended up being.

I think it'll be something stupid like, "The Thunderbolts is okay... but what about... THE DARK AVENGERS?" or something self-referential and gay like "The world no longer needs the happy, go-lucky Avengers, what the modern world needs is... THE DARK AVENGERS!" *cut to the title image with 'Thunderbolts' being replaced with 'Dark Avengers'*

some movies hope to draw you in with what the twist might be
others settle for hoping to draw you in with how shitty the twist might be

it will 100% be the fact that in universe the team will be called the avengers following the events of the movie.

which is pretty irrelevant seeing as the very next movie they are blowing up the world with doomsday and secret wars.

I actually watched the episode, and it was interesting to see an unrepentant shithead finally face some consequences… ‘til they gave him a monologue about how he’s not not a bad guy and is just trying to survive and wanted a treat. If I had to guess I’d bet it was a scene from before the BA reshoots, it feels like classic Disney pandering ☠️
"Why would anyone want to see a criminal face punishment in a Daredevil show?"

-Some schmuck at Disney
there's nothing to update
he womanizes and bullys and slips and falls on his ass then doesn't score
this isn't fucking complicated, you just show reasonable consequences instead of Nobody Does Anything Bad
It also adds tension for when he does get an actual girlfriend he likes. Will he fuck it up with his flirting? Will one of the girls he's screwed over in the past mess it up?

but, nah, flaws are icky, so let's just have a soy dork
It's Netflix Sokka all over again.

I think it's because the trailer does yet another "Comic book names are lame, am I right?" gag.

I swear, if the first season ends with Daredevil telling a senator to do better...

When I first heard the reports they were bringing Gwen Stacy "back" I was wondering how, I wasn't expecting them to bring her back as a Wish dot com Wolverine.

I can't imagine this to be anything other than a pisstake and misdirection.

It's too stupid to be real.

But then, this is the comics industry.

Let alone one that reminds me of the obscure 80s comic character Grips, published via Silverwolf Comics/Greater Mercury Comics

I vaguely remember ads back in the day for that one with the wall and the Saddam poster.
Probably in old Slave Labor like Dr Radium?

Silverwolf Comics was an outfit started in the 1980s, one of so many small publishers that sprung up in that period that went defunct not long after their creation, in this case Silverwolf started in '86 and was shuttered in '87 - all of their titles were created by Kris Silver, the man behind the company. "Grips" was one of the few of that handful of titles that survived beyond the first couple of issues and was mostly known, if at all, for being some of the earliest work by Tim Vigil. After Silverwolf came to an end, Silver started up Greater Mercury Comics that lasted until the early 1990s.

Just saying, I have more interest in comics and what was going on in the industry in that period, what with the "black and white boom" that exploded and then went bust after the sudden popularity of the original TMNT comic - now that was a time for comics I have spent a lot of time excavating via back issues and quarter bins. The 80's independent black and white boom delivered TONS of comics. Some great, some ok, many horrible but artists and writers were able to publish a variety of comics which might not otherwise seen the light of day. Anyone could publish a comic (with the caveat that "anyone" could and did hoping to cash in thus flooding shelves of shops with unsellable, unreadable trash and thus the boom went bust)
Some titles back when had print runs and sales Marvel and DC would probably murder for, now.

Yeah, at this point, I want the CCP to own Hollywood. Movies will actually become fun again.
MM literally talked about this back in 2019, Yellow Dawn

whites are better off being 2nd class citizens under chink rule vs being 9th class citizens in the US. If you've ever watched chink media, all of tv and film is as optimistic and full of good themes as 1980s US stuff was.
It also confirms that the MCU altogether would have been DOA if that first Iron Man had been made today.
it wouldn't have been made today, Tony was always a Trumpian figure, like didn't the creator said he deliberately made Tony a republican stereotype as a writing exercise to see if he could get people to like him?

a near half century of characterization and RDJ being cast made him go from a Goldwater Republican who was to the Vietcong what captain america was to nazis and turned him into a Trumpian Republican, with an image of a playboy surrounded by beautiful women and snarking at every politican, corporate rival, and military asshole he dealt with.

people forget in the early part of Iron Man he fucks the crazy out of some woman reporter and his flight attendants also work stripper poles. If you think Disney would approve of that you're insane. in general phase one of the MCU is way more edgy than the rest of the MCU because of it being distributed by Paramount (remember Megan Fox in transformers around the same era?) whereas Disney has never relied on T&A and actively avoided doing shit like that in its live action films.

Like didn't they straight up say The Hulk couldn't have sex because it would get his heartrate up? and there are numerous jokes about NYC and they destory Harlem.
