Marvel Cinematic Universe

Very funny that the new marketing strategy for Thunderbolts is "PLEASE TRUST US, THIS IS A REAL MOVIE, I SWEAR!"

Very funny that for years that the people working in the MCU have been taking swipes at Scorcese trying to argue that their slop is real art, and know they're desparately trying to appeal to people who enjoy that.

Speaking of which, let's see how Joe "My Dog's name is Box Office" Russo's new movie is doing since the Russo Brothers are directing the next avengers movie

Nothing but confidence, even moreso than before, that Los Bros. Russo's' helming of Avengers 5 and 6 will result in movies where it probably would have been less expensive and painful to go ahead and set the greater part of a billion dollars in paper currency on fire and film it.
Avengers 5 &6 are so fucking cooked. If they can't pull off doing an Avengers movie it will all but confirm the MCU is really a dead corpse walking.

Meanwhile, the latest Russo Brothers non-MCU film, a Netflix piece of garbage titled The Electric State is a bomb, and it had a budget in the hundreds of millions, and the trailer showcases everything wrong with modern films, including these "Netflix originals" that do nothing to justify their bloated budgets - cringey one-liners, awful-looking action, flat, cliched characters.

I really don't understand how the Russo Brothers have fallen off so hard and fast.

NGL i love the trailer, i wish more trailers would take the piss out of movies. you have 2 hours of footage you can make anything with it.

I can tell right now that this trailer is the best thing to come out of this shitty movie.
Like, I can understand the thought processes of how Black Panther director or Zack Synder make mistakes. I can't understand how the Russos turned into consistent hacks.
have they? i think its just a consequence of marketing, even the best streaming film won't do well because its one of thousands on the platform. Cherry was one of the first Appletv+ original films, and starred fucking Spiderman, yet people say its bland. if it came out in theaters it would have done well.

The thing is, the Russos have the reputation of being the Infinity War directors. That buys a shit-ton of clout with most people. Their movies really shouldn't be getting lost in the shuffle.

I always found the failure of their Citadel franchise funny. Amazon went all in on it, thinking the Russo brothers were serving up the next big fictional universe, ordering all kinds of spin-offs and shit for it, but then it came out and nobody cared and the reviews for it were mediocre.

Yeah its a good trailer, just really funny how their marketing is trying to desperately reassure people that it's good by saying the people from bringing up the credentials of those who worked on indie movies in it.

I think its more of a joke trailer (why didn't they save this for April 1st?) than a real desperate attempt. everyone paying attention knows the plot, and its the usual MCU slop, if every other big director outside of the chink couldn't make the films "unique" then i doubt this one is.

I don't think its a joke trailer because of the random press releases comparing it to better movies, and how MCU fans are unironically eating it up with some even daring to say this is "Marvel's first indie film"

It doesn't help Disney has a similar desperate marketing tactic for Andor Season 2 where the trailer was filled with critic reviews about how the first season was so good which they didn't even do this for the other Star Wars shows that got critical acclaim.

It doesn't help that Disney is not in a good place with their movies and is really doing their best to get people invested in the MCU again with the many desperate decisions that have been made.

The people that are calling it "Marvel’s first indie film" are absolutely fucking retarded. It’s like they don’t even know what the word "indie film" actually means

Not to mention there was already Werewolf By Night, which hewed way closer to being an independent film - in that it was boring, gay, and no one saw it (although, I guess you could say the same about most post Endgame Marvel slop).

Its not a bad trailer.. except when they cut to clips of the film and you're reminded, "oh yeah, its just another shitty Marvel movie."

I wonder how much better the MCU would be right now if Perlmutter was allowed to fire Feige.

Millie Bobbi Brown looks fucking rough. Also hats off to Chris Pratt for consistently stealing from Netflix.

Richard Madden flopping two times in a row (Eternals and Citadel) especially after having come off GoT, Rocketman, and winning a Golden Globe, is both hilarious and sad. The man is not leading man material and neither is Gemma Chan. They both really are the prime examples of standing around looking pretty while bringing absolutely nothing to the acting parts.

I don't trust the Russos with the X-Men and I hope that the rumored cast is fake.

Do they know that people who tend to like CBM aren't really fan of indie?
I think that they're trying to catch on that more money would be made from having a good or serviceable movie nowadays than just the Marvel IP like they relied on during the build up to Endgame, but just saying "WELL X DIRECTED Y, WHICH MEANS Z WILL BE GOOD" isn't going to cut it.

Like Rise of Skywalker wouldn't be a great movie because Adam Driver was in Marriage Story.

It's sad how it took this long to get to it and the fact they realize this and they're letting the Russos direct the next Avengers movies after all the stuff they made post-Endgame flopping. Like the only success the Russos had was when they were producing stuff than as actual creative forces.
