Marvel Cinematic Universe

The MCU has become more and more like what Marvel Comics became over the years: terminally unpopular mantle swapping to inferior characters, multiverse/time travel gobbledygook, "major events" that have diminishing returns, projects centered around C-tier characters that flop and crossovers that require you to have read titles you don't care for/watch expensive yet cheap-looking streaming TV series that almost nobody watches in order to follow.

What power did they give her? I've never watched Death Battle so I have no idea
They gave her the energy/ki absorption power that only Android 19 and 20 had due to them being fully mechanic androids. 19 and 20 have sensors in their hands, shown in the image below, that lets them do this.

Unlike any of the other androids, 17 and 18 are not fully mechanical robots disguised as humans AKA the Terminator, they’re cyborgs. They were human beings beforehand and had names which were Lapis and Lazuli.

TL:DR
Android 17 and 18 are cyborgs and don’t have the ability to absorb energy.

Yeah, you can tell Born Again has been stitched together. The first version of this season (which they finished up to episode six of before deciding to start over) had both Karen and Foggy dying in between seasons, so I'm guessing we won't see much of Karen for these first six episodes. The stuff with Bullseye I'd wager is the new material.

Also, I'm surprised they went with Heather Glenn for the new love interest. In the comics, Matt ended up driving her to suicide.

So any one watch the new Daredevil yet? Is it actually decent or more slop?
It's overall good.

The performances are good, they feel a lot more in character than they did in their other MCU appearances.
But the CGI, when they use it, is bad. Shots of DD doing moves a stunt actor obviously can't do, a few understandable greenscreen shots. What I'm trying to say is every time they use CG, I get why, but the result is bad. There's this shot where a train is passing behind a character, and the guy's edges look like he's a fucking cloud.

They've so far handled the continuity vague but well. It's obvious it's a continuation of the old show if you watched it, but if you haven't they tell you enough (I expect they'll remind us more of the background later) but are still a bit vague about certain things. They walk around their other MCU appearances pretty well, so you don't really need to go into Hawkeye or No Way Home or Echo or She-Hulk to know what's going on (essentially, they allude to the events of Hawkeye and Echo in very general terms, and say nothing about the others... at least so far; I've seen shots from trailers that show the gold helmet, so Matt's trip to Los Angeles may come up later).

There's obvious parallels to real world things, but they're handled much more tactfully than most other shows or movies would, and they said in interviews it wasn't the goal to make it about that.

Some things they're doing I don't like, but some of it may be just a personal emotional response. Mileage may vary and all that.

I'll admit I'm so sad about Foggy dying, and somewhat coping with the most likely unfounded rumor that he may have been revived by EMTs offscreen and then faked his death; but I'm also happy Bullseye didn't die. I was like, great, they wasted two great characters. Oh shit, they only wasted one, phew.

True, but in the comics, Karen ended up a junkie AIDS pornslut and then died, and here she's doing much better. Maybe Heather will have a better outcome.
Or not.

Just finished the first episode and it's decent. Not on par with the first or third seasons of DD but better than the 2nd. CGI is rough and the cinematography isn't as good either, but the cast is as good as ever. I like the music, too.

EDIT:
Episode 2 is good as well.

I’ll treat it like The Penguin, just wait till it’s all out and watch it then when the whole verdict on its quality can be judged. I’ve been tricked by two or so good episodes of a show just for the rest to be garbage and I have zero trust that Marvel/Disney can do anything right these days.

Watched episode 1 and 2 of born again after a day because fuck subscribing to disney plus. was very worried that they would make the mayor fisk shit on the nose but they humanize him abit, show he kinda wants to better the city even if he is an ego maniac, and also showing that there's actual reason people would vote for him rather than being stupid hitler bigots or whatever was a step in the right direction. low bar, but considering the MCU's recent output it was nessary to clear.
that being said the cinematorgaphy is amazing, the tracking shots to show matt's hearing probably surpasses the original series in my opinion, they have something here, hopefully they don't fuck it up.

a marvel big wig let it slip foggy is somehow back for season 2
could just be flashbacks but I think he either didn't die or we have some hand fuckery since the original show/defenders version was trash and they probably want a do over with it

There's a storyline wherein Foggy nearly dies, fakes his death, and gets put into witsec, they might be going with that. So far we really don't know why Bullseye attacked in the opening, we only really have Matt's assumptions that maybe it was Kingpin or maybe it was just Bullseye being a psycho with a grudge.

I am worried about the Mayor Fisk stuff. They've already made him a cuck, which makes no sense. Fisk and Vanessa were fanatically devoted to each other in the Netflix series. Their relationship survived Fisk going to prison for years and Vanessa being exiled from the US, yet apparently Fisk getting shot in the face and having to recover from it somehow broke them. Plus, there's Ben Urich's daughter, who I don't remember existing before, though she might've gotten some off-hand reference I've forgotten. Undoubtedly, the sassy black girl is going to play a pivotal role in taking down Trump Fisk.

Also don't like how the show looks so far. Everything is overly bright, clean, and sterile. The Netflix series managed to make everything have a lived-in look to it, and had much better lighting.

I really don't blame born again for it, more previous mcu slop making it so that Vanessa was absent, that and apparently they originally recasted her before the reboot of the show, would have been a disaster

I think she's her niece or some shit, i like the dynamic she has with gandolfini. btw that kid, amazing so far, glad he's in something other than many saints. has alot of the comedic energy his dad did back in the sopranos

my cope for it is that the majority of the season has been outside hells kitchen so it doesn't have that grime, i think the only scene in it so far in there was when Matt was tracking down the witness.
like how matt feels so ashamed he can't even go into the church though, good ol Murdock catholic guilt still alive and well.

I am not okay I miss Foggy. :'(
New characters suck so much so that I miss him even more.
Even if it is a fakeout I won't forgive anyone for making me that sad.
I do wonder who's idea it was to make great value mike ermantraut as Matt's new informat, he's inoffensive at best but everytime I see him i was like "damn, Johnathan banks really asked for too much for Disney?"

I like Clark Johnson, so I haven't minded Cherry. Though that's another problem with Born Again -- 90% of the cast is new. There's barely any returning supporting cast from the Netflix show. Though I guess I should give them some credit, originally only Cox, D'Onofrio, and Bernthal were supposed to return. Maybe once they get past the material from the first version of the show we'll start seeing more returning faces.

yeah he's ok, I think he would have fit in the original season 1-3 cast like the black officer foggy gave Cigerates in season 1 and 2, just weird that he shows up randomly and is so integral now. originally I just thought he was the news paper editor from the original show. the way he's introduced feels like he was a long time focal point of the Nelson Merdoch and Paige crew when its like, no he just showed up.

Yeah its so fucking weird that they wanted to play half and half with the canon of the show
