Marvel Cinematic Universe

I have several thoughts on the film since I saw it today:

1) I’m a massive simp for villain Wanda. The coolest part of the film was the part where she made sonic scream dude’s mouth disappear so he blew his own brain out. Yasss queen slaaaaay

2) I know it’s obvious to anybody that saw Wandavision that she was gonna read the Darkhold and turn evil but I feel like her reveal as a villain would’ve been more powerful if they’d have actually shown her thought process and actions being gradually corrupted by the darkhold as opposed to just being like “SURPRISE! She’s like 95% evil now”.

3) I still don’t understand why Dr Strange just like…has 3 eyes now, I guess. Probably because he read the Darkhold, but then why doesn’t Wanda end up with 3 eyes?

4) I don’t get why Wanda couldn’t just…recreate her kids. Like the only thing about the Hex people found morally objectionable was the fact that she held people hostage with mind control, there’s literally nothing stopping her from fucking off into the woods and building herself a mini hex where her and the boys can live happily ever after...until they hit puberty and start wanting more independence at least. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want her to become a female version of the villain from this episode of Star Trek:The Next Generation:

Yeah, it's just signifying he's got "evil power" in him now. It's just a power boost that has the potential of making him mean, which is likely playing a factor into the sequel. It's just some shit that happened in the comics that I assumed was specific to him, but I just assumed that "The Scarlet Witch" is considered to be like the strongest entity ever or whatever Agatha was getting at when she was freaking the fuck out explaining it to her.

Same. I am a major simp for villian Wanda too. When I first heard she was going to be in the second Dr. Strange movie. I was like please have her be a villain. I won't lie I just love how fucking brutal she was throughout the movie. The battle where she defeats the sorcerers at their home base was pretty cool in my opinion. It probably help too was this wasn't some random villain introduced for this movie like all the other marvel movies. But an actual character we had been following throughout the Marvel movies now a crazy phycho ultra witch who will murder you if you get in her way. It's clear she was willing to murder Strange and i like that. They really wouldn't holding back to much with her villainous side. I won't lie I'm a sucker for hero characters turning evil.

2. I figured Wanda was going to be a villain. What caught me by surprise was how quick the movie revealed her turn. During the scene I was like "ok I guess where doing this plot point wait now" in all fairness I wonder if the writers were like "it seems fans know she's going to turn evil, so maybe we just reveal it wait away in the story " like I really did think maybe we would have two villains one in the beginning and Wanda takes over the second half of the movie. But nope Wanda is the main villain for the movie.

3. Like the user said above I think Wanda was able to avoid those kind of side effects because the scarlett witch is ment to be very powerful.

I do like the ending where Strange gets the third eye. Because it plays into the idea that the Darkhold is something so corrupting that doing one spell with it will fuck you up even when the book has been destroyed.

You know I'm actually curious whose going to be the next marvel hero to turn evil?
Depends on what they'll introduce before this happens. Deadpool is coming to the MCU and at some point Colossus turned evil, so that is one possibility. If they kept ScarJo around she could have gone evil, given the things she did in the Ultimates universe. I would imagine that given the fact they are brining Adam Warlock into the MCU that would be my guess, dude literally has an evil side he needs to maintain constant control over I believe, called Magus.

Okay I am missing the part where Wanda actually had real kids with Vision. In WandaVision they're made up by her, and in Dr. Strange she tard raging over figments of her imagination.
They establish dreams are windows into other people's lives. and every night she has dreams of enjoying life with real life kids, after the wandavision shit I suppose that was enough to make her go crazy. It's rather nebulous who the actual father is in these other dimensions but it was pretty interesting.

It’s odd that she’s so hyper obsessed with getting her imaginary kids back but not her literal actual husband who’s death caused her massive mental breakdown in the first place.

I belive it was a mixture of both the events of wondervision and the darkhold corrupting her that made her crazy. Hence why her plan was insane to everyone else but her.

Wandavision the Movie: feat. Dr. Strange & Friends.

Visually, this movie was good, better than the movie itself deserves. Well done, CGI monkeys.

Benedict Cumberbatch probably had to spend several weeks in intense chiropractic treatment from having to carry the film's dogshit plot on his back.

Black Bolt got jobbed the fuck out for the sake of a gag death and because 'only girl can fight girl.' Weak.

America Chavez comes from a universe with no men, but Spanish? A'ight then.

Why didn't Wanda just use her mind-control Hex powers to have the Boricua Alien hop her around until they hit a universe where her fake kids were real but had been orphaned? Seems like a low-cost, low-conflict fix to everyone's problem.

Wanda in this whole movie. I break the rules and I'm the enemy. Let's review the tape: Mind-raped several dozen people because you were sad that your boyfriend died. Check. Want to kill a kid because the Necronomicon showed you someone else's kids. Check. Kill a few dozen sorcerers because they are preventing you from killing the aforementioned kid. Check. Kill the not-Avengers of a different universe, which I'm sure will work out well for them when their version of Galactus or Annihilus shows up. Check.

Now let's compare Dr. Strange: Gave Thanos the Time Stone because, after performing Probability no Jutsu determined that letting Thanos win temporarily gave the greatest likelihood of the time travel heist plot of Endgame succeeding and restoring everyone who had been Snapped out of existence.

I don't think Wanda understands the difference between 'breaking the rules' and 'calculated risk.' And of course, no one would dare tell her, because the female villain cannot be corrected or told that she's being retarded. Sort of like Hela in Ragnarok.

Finally and most importantly, why was Shuma Gorath not the antagonist of this movie?!

I guess it could be seen as she could accept her shitty childhood, her brother and husband dying as long as she at least has her kids.
Practically, maybe they just couldn't get the actors.

I would’ve gone with cthon… you know the character who created the darkhold and was mentioned in the movie.

Anyways the movie was… uneven. Visually, the film was a masterpiece. one thing DC has over marvel is having more trust in its directors and this is a step in the right direction. The editing and cinematography in this film beat the shit out of every other marvel capeshit. A lot of the concepts in this film were pretty neat. The idea of dreams being a highlight reel of other realities probably isn’t original since I swear I’ve heard this concept before but is still fascinating nonetheless. The film also isn’t bogged down by 20 gajillion cameos like I feared with the only ones being the Illuminati and Bruce Campbell. Film also has pretty some great sequences and a few moments that while not terrifying did somewhat unnerve me. Also the humor in this film is more toned down and not as obnoxious as other films in the series can get.

However, the script is a fucking mess especially in regards to Wanda. Admittedly the movie does kind of sort of address the big problem I had with Wandavision that being the pretty skewed morality of the show in favor of Wanda but the film also seems to forget that Wanda didn’t get the darkhold till the very end of the series so the fucked up shit in that show was entirely of her own free will. Also the Illuminati sequence got real obnoxious with the key jingling though I admit seeing krazinski as mr fantastic was neat and I actually really liked black bolt despite his limited screentime… the actor was able to do a good job portraying his reluctance and regret over killing that universes strange with only two words as well as sheer horror as scarlet witch kills him.

To give a more cynical take (not that I necessarily believe this), using the kids forces the audience to watch Wandavision beforehand, while using Vision and Pietro would work without any non-movie tie-ins, since we already saw them die on-screen.

Didn't they try that? Iirc she said that that wasn't good enough, she wanted to have full control of the power and not just have it on call.
Did she? And she’s still seen as good?

I just saw the image online and thought it was funny.
