Marvel Cinematic Universe

Captain Marvel’s success can almost entirely be explained by the fact that it was pushed between Infinity War and Endgame and made it seem like you needed to watch it first before seeing Endgame. When really that should have been the time for a Black Widow movie, considering.

I saw The Eternals with family a couple weeks back and we all hated it. My little bro's a pretty big fan of the MCU films and he was booing at the end. And my old man went on about how the cast were essentially a checklist of token minorities and how boring the movie was. The only character we liked was the Indian movie agent who tagged along as he seemed to be the only genuine character out of the group. And even then, his only purpose was to be a prop for dumb jokes. Just like a lot of side characters in the series.

Thankfully, I wasn't the one who bought the tickets.

We're still planning on seeing the next Spider-Man film, but after that I think we're mostly done with these movies. The only reason I've been seeing any of them since Endgame was because it became sort of a family tradition over the years and an excuse to get together.

We have a confirmed leak for No Way Home. Just a heads up, there are some really stupid moments that might ruin an otherwise good movie - specifically regarding Dr Strange acting retarded, to the point where some are speculating it is an imposter.
It doesn’t bode well for Multiverse of Madness if this is the direction Strange is going in.

Pretty sure the amount of screen time and name dropping is part of the negotiation Sony and Marvel had to deal with. Him holding the rift together (with another detail mentioned in this Reddit leak), we might see this directly leading into Multiverse of Madness. And him acting like a retard is debatable, seeing how Tom Hollandaise screws him over.

the most interesting thing about the leak is
  • Tobey was not deaged and looks kinda like an uncle.

    so Tobey is uncle ben.
Doubt it. This is mostly because of appearance. And as the theme of the movie is Tom dealing with two lives (being Peter Parker AND Spider Man), it’s a direct contrast to the other two. I guess Andrew Garfield gave up his Peter Parker life to fully embrace Spider Man while Tobey returned to a normal life.

there's actually more information that backs up the theory
there's was a scene that was cut from spider-man homecoming where aunt May gives Peter one of uncle Ben's suits from his closet
in the trailer for No Way Home. Tom Holland is wearing the same suit that Tobey wore in the Spider-man 3
that could be from uncle Bens closet. Sony does still own the Spider-Man movie rights. with into spider-verse they referenced Tobey spider-man explicitly with the blue eyed spider-man.
No doubt Sony pressured marvel into adding the Tobey stuff and likely the uncle Ben hints into No Way Home.

here's a big coincidence. in the Spider-Man 1 DVD commentary. Tobey said that he might be Uncle Ben one day.
no bullshit, that actually happened.

Not sure I believe that new leak, but either way having Tobey and Andrew in at all is a cool bonus even before getting to Molina, Dafoe etc.

Yeah, Strange being pissy is perfectly understandable given not only was he doing a massive, MASSIVE favour for Peter but Peter went and screwed the entire thing over causing him even more of a headache.

I hope this leak is true. I will actually go see the movie now.

Strange is retarded for trying to play monkey’s paw with the spell, and not actually having an adult conversation with Peter regarding the consequences of it.

He's also very egotistical, so it's not like it's completely new territory for the guy.
You’d think that’d manifest as “you really don’t want this, I know better”, not as “Sure! Let’s fuck with reality so a guy I barely know can avoid consequences! What could possibly go wrong!”

Yeah I think we're missing a slight bit of context here since it seems a bit too easy. I don't really have a problem with the general setup, it's more how we get from Peter asking him to Molina etc. appearing that's weird right now.
