Imagine being a teenage girl in the 2040's going to a public school, when someone hears about how your mom used to be a journalist for a famous news site. They look her up out of curiosity on their phone, only to find a thread dedicated to pointing out how fucking retarded she is, which is devastating enough for any teenager. But then they find a picture of your mom's fat fucking tits posted, 100% unprompted and without irony, by your horrifically obese and alcoholic mother. Perhaps there's been some mistake, that CAN'T be your mom, plausible denia- oh, no, she posted a picture of you, wrote down your name, described your father in varying amounts of detail and oh look there's the address of the place you used to live at. What's worse, there are multiple pages of back and forth arguments that essentially equate to complete and utter Internet strangers giving way more of a fuck about your physical safety and mental well being than your own mother. "Who cares if a pedophile jacks off to my baby daughter, that's not my problem!"
If that happened to me, I would want to fucking die. I would carry that shit with me for the rest of my days, and my relationship with my mom would never be the same (if it continues to exist at all). This shit is exactly why I think pictures of children should not be legally allowed to be posted to the Internet. If you were a kid in the age before digital picture taking was common, consider yourself lucky. My kids will never have their pictures posted publicly, even baby pictures, until they're old enough to tell me they're okay with it, and this thread firmly strengthens my opinion on that. I think every parent should follow suit, to the best of their ability.
