idk seems like there is standing up for things I believe in, and then there's arguing with Holocaust deniers, wannabe klansmen, avowed women-haters, """conservatives""" whose politics closely resemble that of Anders Breivik, and then there's people who post fanart of me as a dung beetle. I used to really think that leaving their insults unanswered was like letting them win, but I see now that certain discussions are beneath me. How am I going to convince a guy who's arguing with me in bad faith to begin with? I'm legitimizing them with my attention.

I assure you the other side often feels the same way. They think it's impossible to talk to feminists and progressives, that most LGBTQs if not all are grooming the children and have politics closely resembling those of Michel Foucault or likely worse, and that discussing with the leftoid biomass is below them. Especially when it's about "journalists", most of them being incredibly biased and doing hit jobs on people by purposefully omitting important context.
This shit won't end well. Sure discussions can be acrimonious, but that's to be expected when the two sides have so little in common.
And yet, discussion is literally the ONLY way forward that might result in an improved situation. You cannot get rid of rightoids, cannot get rid of chuds, faggots, progressives and feminists. Too many in each group.

I honestly think a pathological opposition to journalists on the basis of them being journalists portends something horrible for humanity and our ability to communicate with one another. But I also never claimed to be a trained journalist, so calling me one feels oddly reminiscent of those movies about the cultural revolution where professors would get beaten to death for counterrevolutionary activities.
