Against all odds, Tariq actually got the funding for his museum somehow. Fundraiser closed today.

We made history with this monumental effort. I am extremely proud of everyone who helped to make this campaign a success. Now we are going to immediately get started on getting the land for the museum.

We will keep everyone posted on all the next stages for the project.

I haven't watched Tariq Nasheed's "documentary" in it's entirety, but the clips of it that I have seen are downright bizarre. When it's not parroting the standard homophobic tropes we've all heard from white evangelicals about a so-called "gay agenda", it's trying to somehow tie this in to a broader conspiracy of racial grievance, although the most peculiar thing for me is how the issue is visually framed.

Interspersed with the footage of the various interviewees (who seem to have absolutely no history credentials whatsoever) is a series of paintings which I can only describe as DeviantArt-tier fetish fiction. It's as if this documentary was cooked up by somebody desperate to publicly indulge in some kind of burgeoning sissy/interracial fetish, but who was so ashamed at the idea of doing so overtly that they were willing to contrive an entire documentary wherein they throw the dignity of their own ancestors under the bus rather than suffer the embarrassment themselves.

I'm not sure whether to cringe or laugh at it.
 
If you search David Duke, you'll get 'anti semetic conspiracy theorist' in the opening line of his bio. If you search Tariq Nasheed you get "American film producer and social media commentator."

White privilege and institutional racism are pretty weird, why would an institution as big as wikipedia be so generous in their description of Nasheed and so negative towards Duke. If I didn't have total faith in the establishment I'd think I was being lied to or something didn't quite add up.
