That probably explains why the base price is 20$ since it just cut out the game from it. Steam doesn't pull that off, so seems like Sony's license handling is more dogshit than I expected.

I never played a Halo game in my life. But I remember watching a dev diary from Bungie on a DVD disc attached to a gaming magazine detailing crazy multiplayer features they were working on for Halo 3. It stuck with me, despite not being interested in the franchise and having little exposure to it. And that was in addition to proper singleplayer campaign that was the main treat.
Marty O Donnell did an interview a week or two ago where he mentioned that the idea of a new Marathon title had been present at Bungie since the late 2000s, and that for as long as he was with the company the plan was always for a classic Singleplayer and Multiplayer experience like Halo.
Basically its PS Store being poorly coded. It thinks the game is on your account and removes the price from the package. Because thats how PS store works, so they had to add the disclaimer specifically for free trial owners

The art director who was at Bungie for a decade and responsible for multiple instances of plagiarism while there finally decided "it was his decision to leave" 5 months ago as well. Probably got offered a small compensation package like a few months pay if he just fucked off due to all of the problems he'd caused of the years if he just quits, rather than having to deal with firing his ass, but we'll never know for sure.
