Beyond this, there are images of young girls all over the account (nothing illegal though) and a bunch of retweets of loli porn.

I don't buy into the nomap or anti-contact meme, but imagine defending a group of people that do not even try to hide their intent to rape kids. I can see how someone might develop sympathy for someone that claims they are against sexual contact with children, even if it's very questionable at best but how you can honestly claim to be pro-contact but anti-sexual abuse is beyond me.

Honestly, the part that sucks is that a good number of people who have sexual interest in minors recognize it's a bad thing, not to be celebrated, that it's an illness and they need treatment for it. They are scared to death about hurting a child, it's a mental illness and there are few ways to get help without being raided by coppers even if you didnt do shit but admit you have a problem and need psychiatric help before they end up harming a kid or more commonly, them selves.
The NOMAP/MAP label was created for these people to band together without the stigma of the word "pedophile" so they could find ways to ask for help, and now that the label has been taken up by these "pro-contact" delusional clowns, the MAP term is falling down the same dysphemism treadmill as pedophile, and the people who actually want help are once again getting marginalized, keeping them from getting help for their urges and perhaps the histories of abuse that preceptiated them.

The only time I've ever heard of them perma banning a pedo is if they either hosted illegal content or doxed an "anti". A lot of them get temporary suspensions, though, mostly if they've been arguing and said or did something that could be considered hate speech. (use of slurs, etc)

As pointed out earlier in the thread, twitters official statement is that it's acceptable to discuss so long as it doesn't violate any other rules, or "encourage child exploitation". That should be fine but they don't seem to have a consistent definition of "encouraging child exploitation".

Convenient, isn't it? So long as you can't pin them down to anything specific, you can't call them out on how far they'll go to shield these types.
If I were making the rules there, my limits would be to bar any speech that sanctions or condones physical or sexual harm to a child for any reason. That would include anyone saying a child needs beaten up for a political stance or MAP garbage about how kids should have "sexual freedom" (which anyone with a brain knows is barely veiled code for letting pedophiles have what they want).
However, the reason they don't impose such limits should tell you something about Twitter and the people who run it, and why such a broad and unambiguous banning of certain types of discussion would not sit right with the crowd they pander to.

It's the former Ars Technica writer Peter Bright who got arrested last year:

His handle was DrPizza long before PizzaGate, but he tweeted about it a few times. He also lusted after jailbait on Twitter and dropped other hints. The Twitter account and the tweets are all intact AFAIK. He has been too busy to deactivate it.

Because in most places, you can admit to the desire to harm children, you only get punished if you actually do it.
It's under this cloak they cower behind, and legally, it would be a bad idea to try taking that away. Where it's legal to say this and not get arrested is where laws that protect all forms of vile and controversial speech is also present, and saying you hate politicians and believe they'd be better off taking shotgun mouthwash and that you hate certain people for the color of their skin is also shielded by the same laws.
You can't really chip away at that legal protection for free speech because it introduces a dangerous precedent that could harm perfectly legal and harmless speech down the line, which is regrettable, but is sadly the case.
However, the places that give these people a platform could do the world a favor and deny it to them. Twitter, if it chose to exercise proper restraint, could and should deny these people a platform. But, even though they would have an arguable case for doing so under any legal jurisdiction I'm aware, they won't, and given there is no benefit to promoting such speech on their platform save one negative outcome, then that just raises the question why Twitter is still allowing this.

People in the thread have suggested that twitter HQ is pedo central but in my opinion it's because nobody has made a big enough fuss for the heads of twitter to notice and none of the lower ranks wants to put in the work required to snuff them out.

I just think they prefer pedos being out in the open rather than forcing them underground. If I owned Twitter I'd probably walk the same line, if people want to paint giant flashing arrows to themselves screaming "PEDO" then it's that much easier for the cops to eventually bust them with 6 encrypted terabyte drives of CP, and hopefully everyone knew to keep their kids away from them in the meantime.
The idea of kids consenting is fucking ridiculous. Kids are fucking stupid, they'll believe in shit like the Tooth Fairy uncritically, so it's not like it would be hard for a pedo to convince them to perform a sexual act, they might even talk the kid into thinking it's their own idea. Their brains are not developed yet so they accept what trusted adults tell them at face value. That is literally the reason why statutory rape exists as a concept. Pedos are either pretending not to understand this or are straight fucking retards.
I do have to admit the one pedo fuck has a point about people declining to go into certain professions because they're afraid of being stereotyped/accused as a pedo (I've heard a lot of men who wanted to go into pediatric nursing or early childhood ed but didn't for this reason). Of course their idea of addressing this problem is to accept pedophilia, because of fucking course it is. Admittedly I don't have any ideas how to address this problem but I know that is the worst possible way to go about it.
