Eh tbh the only time the series perked my interest was when Hitler was hinted at being the titular Man in the High Castle and the true hero of the story. Sadly they didnt have enough balls to go through with it and have a good-guy-hitler plot since even when putting aside "lol hitler did nothing wrong" schtick, it would have been a pretty damn interesting concept going forward

They managed to pad out the original source material competently enough, but they pretty much used it all up by this point. Even the esoteric hippy stuff in the novel where Philip K Dick tangentially muses about Taoist mysticism and the fluid nature of reality got extensive exploration in the TV series adaptation. There's nothing new left in the source material for them to draw from, it's all been extensively mined already.

I've only watched the first 1.5 seasons but from the clips I've seen (esp. the Volkshalle ceremony) this show is better pro-Nazi propaganda than anything the actual Nazis ever put out.

Yes plus there's no reason for them to exist or be communists. They were in the Japanese side, Japanese treated everyone terrible regardless of race, they took the best part of the town and made everyone else love in slums so they won't even be segregated of anything this would unite both races. And they had a very wishful way of ti, they defeat the Japanese and so what? They are outnumbered by whites, whites now that ate getting targed by Reich propaganda because no way in hell they would just let them rule the entire east coast, even if they ignored them they wouldn't be able to maintain power because their movement is segregated they can't recruit whites, they can't make them feels like citizens. Ok even they managed to maintain power and somehow avoided in to turning the regime in to a terror regime they would never be able stand up against the Reich or even have decent infrastructure, they are completed isolated aside from the chinese aid, they didn't seem to had anyone experienced in managing a country, assembling and training a prpper army and so on at the best they would be the yakuza's bitch state where they can operate without the empire interference. Such sham e I really liked the series, I wish that they showed Tokyo and a little bit of the rest of the world.

Wow, fuck this. I have arrived in the Season 4 and had heard rumours it was bad. I didn't know it was that bad - I can't believe I'd rather root for the Irish guy and the Jews instead compared to the BCR. Who the fuck came up with such a retarded group such as the BCR?

Even worse: Communists aren't supposed to segregate based on race, social status, economic status or whatever else. This is a massive plothole that the writers wrote themselves at a corner, where they had to instead resort to a "afrofascism" or "afrotribalism" to oppose "Eurofascism". And yes, no way they would be able to make a Wakanda based on the West Coast. This is extreme wishful thinking.

This show did a terrible thing by not showing the rest of the world with the Axis victory. ESPECIALLY within Europe and Asia.

The BCR were a utter failure story wise because they beat the Japanese purely by plot convenience. They blowup infrastructure up and down the coast and the Japanese just fuck off, totally abandoning the West Coast. They exist as little more than a way to get the series to the end game by getting rid of the Japanese quickly.

Not only that: how the fuck do you have a religion based on Hitler? Even if people say about the National Socialist doctrine of ocultism, there are photos and documents of the National Socialists exalting positive traits of Christianity (https://t.me/NSDAPLovedChrist for more info) - which barely makes an appearance in the series. This is a huge plot contrivance which the American population just "goes along with it" and is just as retarded as the BCR. Don't get me started on that woman who's a lesbian and the propaganda allowing lesbian clubs during Season 3 - what's this, Weimar?

You don't mess around with peoples' faith and they just go along with it, and it makes me think this article I found on a Kinist website to be true (TL;DR: even the more innocuous and innocent population are potential not-sees. Sounds a lot like a passage from the Talmud).

I saw the actors looked considerably older, indeed. That just makes no sense. How will the BCR rule the West Coast now??? How will "Wakanda" be established in a ruined infrastructure, do they even have an answer to that? Not even taking into account the sheer incompetence of the niggers in general, but how will take care of everything.

Presumably to promote trade and commercial investments between the Pacific States and the Nazi occupied states. I think early on they show him at work, talking about automobile manufacturing with his nazi counterparts.

So I just got done watching TMITHC and I want to say, it feels so lopsided to me.

I am interested in the dynamics of the Pacific States and Greater Reich, I like the intrigue going on and the storylines which we get to see, the devious side of the Reich trying to bait the Japanese and the Japanese just trying to keep shit together on a rapidly sinking ship. I was quite into the rebel storyline as well with them trying to destabilise both sides with limited success, I was into the Robert storyline especially with how he always ended up in shit but somehow wiggled his way out and I think it was a good choice not to overly focus on Hitler or Himmler to the degree the show was overshadowed by them.
But, I have so many issues with this show and I imagine they exist in the book, so it's core-premise shit. I'll put in spoilers as to why;

Firstly, it's the introduction and constant reliance on "The Multi-verse", I got so bored with it being brought up as it didn't amount to anything I cared about, the only time I felt remotely like it was interesting was when John got hyper-obsessed to see his son and took the opportunity to do so just to do that, but it really amounts to fucking nothing so it could've been completely dropped without losing anything. I would personally prefer that High Castle was the only person capable of interaction with the other universe, smuggling stuff back and forth and he destroys the only way to do this upon capture by the Nazis, he then gets forced to do his TV show which he does under duress as the Nazis slam down a base over the site High Castle used to smuggle stuff over to stop others doing so.
I also felt the last episode really did a disservice to the entire thing, it all ended fucking flatly after promising and preparing so much groundwork, I was way more interested in how the fuck the new "Black Community Party" were going to survive with the Reich breathing down their necks but it's all just flung out the window with a "Nope everything is cool now". I dunno man, maybe it's satisfying for some but I felt it was fucking weak, we get so many ideas being tossed out for it all to be dropped because we must have "Nazis lose". Also fucking hell apparently untrained rebels in these shows just always kick the piss out of well guarded top secret areas guarded by pretty hardened people which likely have self-detonate switches... But whatever I guess.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but I feel a lot of great story elements and developments are completely cheapened by how things end up playing out.
