Making a pretty profile = ) - Tools and advice

I would like to get good at making animated images to use them on my profile on the farms. (gifs or any alternatives) I am finding the file sizes are painfully big with the tools I'm using right now. If you have any experience or software suggestion for this sort of thing it would be great to have you post so we can all learn too. = )

Animated stuff on KF is awful virtually always.

I don't know why, the anime people especially seem to be the worst about it (maybe because of the autism?). If you install krita you can make basic AI generated images with a simple Google search. I think the original torch light is only like a gigabyte and that comes with some of the decent fast image generation tools. if you want to get deeper into it you can download larger repositories, I think I'm up to like 70 gigs now.

https://hailuoai.video/ has a fairly long cue but it's a powerful free website you can make some AI videos with.

screen2gif is a great tool for clipping animation frames and doing Simple animation work.

And finally giftowebm is a command line tool you can download or you can download a executable you can dump your images into for compression and conversion.

95% of the fun is learning how to use these tools but that's what I used to make my profile stuff.

Also if you want to clip stuff from games you can use steams overlay to record short clips and then use screen to give to clip those.

There are all in one solutions for everything I'm describing here but these are the most user friendly tools available. Photoshop's great so if you can scrounge a copy of cs8 go for it.

If the file size is too big just convert the gif to webp, it's will reduce the file size by 50~90% usually.

You could try OpenToonz.

In their website it says that it has been customized by Studio Ghibli, and used for the creation of its works for many years; it can be used free of charge for both commercial and non-commercial projects, and that it's available as an open-source so that anyone can modify its source code freely.

This if for 2D animation, and from what I've seen, the start of it (you getting accustomed to the program) will be a bit more complex because it's a "big" program, i.e: there's a lot of stuff, it's like comparing DaVinci Resolve to Windows Movie Maker.

I think for some things in regards to rendering you may need a plug-in like FFmpeg, so if you're not tech-savvy, watch a tutorial first.

If you just want to do some basic editing of a gif, e.g. remove certain frames, scale it, crop it, optimize it, you can use Ezgif. That's what I always use.
