Has anyone else ever bought something from Black Phoenix Alchemy? I bought a couple of perfumes from them a few years ago which I liked, although I thought they smelled a little similar to one another. Recently I bought two more perfume oils in different scents (the ones I bought before were discontinued), but when I tried them out I was pretty dissapointed, as they smelled really similar to the other scents that I had previously bought, and were almost indistinguishable from one another. I made sure to get two very different flavours, but they smell almost identical.

Maybe I'm just not good at differentiating smells, but I'm a bit dissapointed that there's not a more noticable difference. I like really heady, exotic scents and prefer oil to standard perfume (my skin eats that shit up, normal perfume doesn't show up on me unless I literally bathe in it) so Black Phoenix seemed ideal, and I'm wondering if it's just bad luck on my part, or if this is a trend for the brand.

Hey cool, something I know about for once.
In my experience you are correct, most of their stuff is pretty similar and it's not just your nose.
That said, there are a few exceptions, but the one I remembered that I was going to recommend appears to have been discontinued. That sucks. It was one of their Lovecraft ones.

Can anyone recommend a good day to day light bb cream/tinted moisturizer? I’m really having trouble finding a good one for a few very annoying reasons, the main one being that my skin is very sensitive and dry. The only two foundations that I can wear without breaking me out or causing some weird reaction are Nars sheer glow and Giorgio Armani luminous silk. I have tried Dr. Jarts BB cream and by the end of the day I am a sad, flakey mess. If anyone has any tips, I would much appreciate it!

I'm not sure if the specific brands are available in the US since I'm a Eurofag, but I've had similar reactions to BB cream (albeit with an acné-prone skin), so I went to the pharmacy for them instead of supermarket / sephora as I did before.

I can recommend the Eucerin CC cream with Hyaluron - it also has a tiny bit of sun protection (SPF 15), which is nice if you're a pale northern fuck like me that burns easily. La Roche Posay also has a good light BB cream that worked perfectly fine for me.

Right now since it's summer, i'm using not using a BB cream per se, but an Isispharma anti-redness gel with SPF50. After that, I plan on finishing my Eucerin one, and maybe trying out an Avene or Vichy BB cream. (I read somewhere ages ago that using the same product all the time isn't necessarily good in the long run, and although I'm not sure whether it's true, I try to vary my skincare routine every once in awhile).

If you have sensitive and dry skin, I would recommend the Eucerin brand in general. It helped me a shit ton when I was following a Curacné (isotretinoin) treatment for 6 months, and my body was drier than the Sahara desert.

I once got a sample of I think their Yorick oil, and it smelled like dirt. Not bad exactly, but like literal wet dirt in a graveyard. It was pretty cool, kinda like that infamous perfume that smells like semen, but I wouldn't wear it.

I was interested in the Zorya perfumes (from American Gods) but since working a desk job I stopped wearing perfume. Good to know that their products might not be great, saves me a little money.

I've had good luck with the Colourpop one. I also use the hydrating primer under it. I have sensitive skin and it hasn't bothered me, My skin isn't super dry though. I do use multiple products with hyaluronic acid in them and also a facial mist to keep things hydrated.

ETA - My local Ulta was out of the UD eye primer, so I ordered it. I'll let everyone know how that works. As far as eyeliner, the Stila Stay All Day eyeliner is the bomb. I've also been trying the Wet 'N Wild Breakup Proof one and it's been good too for far cheaper. Neither makes my eyes itch like some of the others I've tried. I don't like pencils for upper eye. Lower eye, I've had good luck with most waterproof gel liners except for the Tattoo Studio ones from Maybelline, those fuckers go everywhere. I don't have any problem with mascara as long as it's waterproof. My favorites are L'Oreal Lash Paradise and Voluminous X Fiber. I've been trying the Maybelline Sky High and so far it seems pretty good. All of the Lash Princess from Essence are top notch. Even the non-waterproof are good. Yes, I tend to be a basic, pumpkin spice, drugstore bitch...I own it. LOL

I saw a tip on instagram to mix Glow Recipe Dew Drops with foundation to make your own hydrating BB cream. I mixed it with Glossier Skin Tint and it was so great on my dry skin. I was very impressed.

I’ll have to try this! I’ve heard mixing foundation and moisturizer/other products can help make a lighter base for everyday, but I’ve been totally lost on how exactly to do so. Thank you for the tip! And thanks to everyone else that helped as well!:semperfidelis:

I wish Demobaza’s clothing wasn’t so expensive so I could buy it all and dress like an extra from a Mad Max movie 24/7

Why do we wear the titty binders, again? Is it for our health, or some shit? I get why some more busty women may want support, but, no offense, those "heavy support bras" look painful and constraining. Is this whole bra idea simply to keep men from leering? Or keep them leering? I'm so confused.
Reasons I've received for "Why we wear bras"
  • Modesty (Hides the nips, limits boob movement, can make them appear smaller)
  • "Better shape" (Fashion, standardized boob shape
  • Prevents sagging (Not actually true)
  • Prevents pain when doing physical activity (Fair)
  • Offers support (Debatable)
Despite the memes and the pop culture "love" of large breasts, they're often treated as a negative. Smaller breasts are seen as more elegant and refined, while women with large breasts are stereotyped as being less intelligent and of lower class. It's been this way for a while, too.

Some women can pull it off, but even then it limits what you can wear.
Sure this looks great now,

but if she were wearing something that hung lose it would look like a weird abaya.

I'm bringing all this up because I've noticed a disturbing trend among younger women where larger-breasted ones are treated almost as if they're choosing to deal with all the shit that comes with having big boobs. Previously you'd see this with people who got breast implants ("Don't complain, you chose to make them that big.") but now I'm seeing it directed at women with natural breasts wherein more people seem to assume big boobs are fake than in the past and there's also this weird breast reduction fad going on where it's depicted as something that's the key to happiness. It makes you look thinner, prettier, clothes look better!

To say nothing of the prominence of elective mastectomies among "trans men" and "enbies".

Not wearing a bra during WFH/quarantine has also led to a bunch of articles like this in the last year:

Honestly if I don't wear a bra with a properly-fitting top it chafes the fuck out of me. It would either have to be a super loose top or something extremely soft (which usually also means thin).

And I'm not exactly comfortable with the stares I'd get due to mammary jiggleosity. I'm not going for "modesty" because I think that women who go braless are whores or something, I just don't want the entire fucking male population to suddenly feel like it's appropriate to gape at my chest because an unfettered boob is like some kind of mythical beast.

A lot of current fashions for 20somethings are leaning more and more towards the itty bitty titty girls. Just the other day I tried on a dress at Free People which was gorgeous and super comfortable, but entirely open-backed, meaning I'd have to go braless. The part of the dress that would go over my boobs would have left pretty much nothing to the imagination.

I have a naturally larger chest and I can tell you that going braless is actually uncomfortable for me. I am very picky about the bras I wear. The supportive ones without wires are a godsend and I love them. I think one of the reason a lot of women find them uncomfortable is they are wearing the wrong size. It can feel a little awkward to be fitted, but it can do wonders to actually wear the correct sized bra. I have never considered surgery to reduce the size, but I can understand why women do. I have had to actually double bra to use an elliptical because the "bouncing" is THAT uncomfortable.

I won't PL too much, but I will say that proper bras can help, and also there can be a benefit to going braless for prolonged periods of time. I will also say that bralettes kick ass and that I've found myself wanting one of those front-lacing corset things that German women used to wear a lot. I'd love it if I could do it and not look like a cosplayer.

Personally I'm not even that big and still have to wear bras when going outside, for one, even if mine are fairly small, they still move, enough for me to notice, and it is really uncomfortable. Also I still like to wear some good lingerie from time to time, there's something about it that automatically boosts your confidence, even if no one will see it, the mere fact that you know you have it on it enough on it's on.

Still I tend to not wear bras at home just for comfort sake, I usually free the titty or just wear a simple sports bra (I also do daily workout routines so it is a win-win scenario).

Clenditioner

Okay if anyone here dyes their hair, even if its a normal shade and not something danger hairy this is a really great product. Basically it combines shampoo/condition, and then also deposits color. Comes in way too many colors, and also they make one you can find on I think Amazon with no color in it if you have really easily damaged hair and are looking for a very non-harsh shampoo/conditioner.

applying it with my fingertip seems unhygienic and sloppy.
Don’t you wash your hands? Makeup blends in more naturally with the warmth of the fingertips. Brushes are more for touch-ups afterward.
prefer oil to standard perfume (my skin eats that shit up, normal perfume doesn't show up on me unless I literally bathe in it)
After moisturising too? I ask because oils are more moisturising and fragrances are more powerful then.
it also has a tiny bit of sun protection (SPF 15), which is nice if you're a pale northern fuck like me that burns easily.
Not enough SPF, you need a sunscreen blob the size of 1/2 teaspoon. That would look horrid with a foundation.

Even then, although moisturising does help a bit. I get quite oily skin so I don't like to moisturise too much except in very hot or cold weather.
