@melty I think (someone correct me if I am wrong) ebay doesn't let you list makeup as used (although this may just be an EU thing). Samples ought to be fine. Facebook swap groups for make up etc are usually pretty good. Make Up Alley forums used to let you do it, but I haven't bothered to log in there in like forever so idk if you still can.

I am the manajerk of a bbw and I am so thrilled to hear that you guys like it.

Also- fun fact about bbw : employees get free gifts every month and can earn more gifts for big sales and whatnot. My hoard is unbelievable.

At my previous job I worked with someone who, while not a manajerk of B&BW, did work in the stores for quite some time and fondly remembered her hoard. Not so much the folks who would nearly use up a product and then return it for another but that's retail!

If there's anything I miss in retail it's employee discounts. My god, I gave some amazing fucking Christmas/birthday presents when I worked at Bloomingdale's.

Really would like to get into jfashion like comfy-kei or larme-kei, but I don't have the funds or an appropriate body type. I am kill ;_;

That was already my dream job but now I think I'm going to do everything in my power to try and get hired at my local bbw

If anyone is looking for some really good mascara, try Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara. It's a little expensive at $23USD, but god it's so worth it. I'm a standard drugstore cosmetics user, but this is the only upscale makeup I make an exception for because it works so well. Just one coat makes your lashes look incredibly long and thick, and it isn't even clumpy. Imo, it's the closest you can get to false lashes without actually being false lashes. Only downside I can think of is that it isn't waterproof, but then again there could be a waterproof version I just don't know about. Regardless, if you're looking for good mascara, Too Faced BTS is amazing.
Late but I also like the Better than Sex mascara. Also I wanted to point out this Sephora product for anyone who doesn't know (I didn't)
s1702414-main-hero-300.jpg

It's called Lash Stash and it's a trial box of 5 mini mascaras. The best part is that there's a coupon inside for a free full size mascara of which every one you like the most. It's where I find out about Better Than Sex, I'm probably going to get the full size of that. But the others are also very good, especially for bottom lashes, which they'll last a long time for that purpose. Considering this kit is $25 and Better Than Sex fullsize is $23, I don't think it's a bad deal, you get to try all these mascaras and they're great travel sizes etc.
I think they have these kits for a lot of other products, I'm sure they are very popular and I'm late to the party here but I don't go to Sephora very often bc Ulta is closer. It looks like they sell larger sizes sometimes too, with stuff like eye makeup remover and false lashes. For some reason I can't find this on the website anymore, not sure if it's still in-store but it looks like they come out with one every year.

Double post, but I have also been wondering about this since it is summer in the northern hemisphere...how does one get a close shave on the legs? Despite being half-Asian I still have to shave every other day lest I become too prickly. I use a Venus Spa Breeze razor to shave in the middle of my showers since that is when the hair follicles are dilated and moist from the shower steam. I use some leftover eco-friendly shampoo containing shea butter as a sort of shaving lather. I also shave against the hair grain. Any suggestions?

I think the problem here is that you aren't exfoliating before your shave AND after. A good thing to do is to really rub off that dead skin before you use your razor - don't use anything with mirco beads though. You'll just clog your shower drain with those. A nice exfoliating sponge might do the trick. Or you could make your own srub from the things in your kitchen. Then use a clean, sharp razor. Men's razors are sharper than women's, but they don't have a built in moisturizers like the (wonderful) venus razors. Now exfoliate again and zip off any remaining hair with your razor.

Now, you'll need a lotion or body cream after you exfoliate, so make sure you choose one without any harsh perfumes that might inflame your skin. It will be rather sensitive after such a deep exfoliation, so be careful!

Late B&BW Hoard Update: I got 3 PocketBacs! I've never used them until now but they're amazing. I got Pretty in Pink, Black Cherry Merlot, and Bright Autumn Day and I couldn't be happier with them.

(I also took my boyfriend to B&BW for the first time ever... he actually liked it and even got himself some Pocketbacs too.:heart-full:)

I love those things. I used to buy the plain anti-bacterial gels but would never actually finish them off because they smelled so goddamn clinical. I finally fell prey to the 5/$5 or 5/$6 as it is now and holy shit, found out I actually use them because they smell nice instead of the waiting room at the doctor's office. I keep a couple tethered to my usual bags.

Totally justified by the approaching "birthday month": I just bought two Bloom skirts (one black, one cream) and the Bonheur dress in navy from Shabby Apple. I found out about them a few years ago but apparently really thought hard about what I wanted for some time. The company was started by a Mormon woman who was tired of having to add a shirt under a dress and was generally dismayed at the choices of "modest" clothing. I'm not religious or really modest by any means but I have a big chest/hourglass figure so oftentimes I have to deal with clothes really making my tits front and center. Nothing wrong with that but I don't really want them to be falling out at work.

I also have long legs so sometimes skirts are still way aggravatingly short on me. Maybe not visually but I hate having to think "is my ass out? How about now?"
For me, there's always been a time and place and comfort level for me to show some skin.

And holy fucking shit how could you not be a fairy princess in this skirt?! Words really can't describe how excited I am to get these skirts. All of Shabby Apple's photography is styled so beautifully. When my package gets here I'll be sure to report on how everything is.

Última edición:
UPDATE: I'm really satisfied with the fit of Shabby Apple. Their sizing chart is really accurate and the Bloom skirts are unfortunately getting retired. I ordered those in a 14/16 and will take in the waist. They're so pretty. Like most tulle items they need some airing out and fluffing up to get the right look and they were wear-worthy pretty quickly. The waistband also has a little spandex in it (cotton blend) so it has a little give which was a nice surprise. Dress is a 95% cotton 5% spandex blend so it retains its shape but is also forgiving if you need to move. The fabric is a little on the thinner side but I really don't mind. The cut is so flattering and the attached belt doesn't feel like an afterthought. There's actual belt loops, not garbage thread strings.

I spent my last Bath and Body Works coupons today and got:
  • A Thousand Wishes Diamond Shimmer mist
  • A Thousand Wishes shower gel
  • Sensual Amber lotion
  • A Thousand Wishes lotion (travel size)
  • Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion (travel size, for my mom)
  • Love and Sunshine lotion (travel size)
  • Pure Paradise pocketbac (2x)
  • Paradise Found pocketbac (2x)
  • Vampire Blood pocketbac
  • Fresh Linen and Sea Salt wallflower (2x)
  • Beautiful Day wallflower (2x)
  • Endless Weekend wallflower
  • Rainforest Gardenia wallflower

My daughter painted my toenails for me because being a good daddy means tolerating shit like that. Thing is I don't think shimmer pink is really me. I'm more a blue, I need my colours done.

What boxes do you subscribe to? I've been getting Ipsy and Glossybox for about a year now and am happy with both, but I was thinking about switching it up. I prefer makeup, nail, and hair stuff to skin products for the most part, my skin care routine is pretty solid and introducing anything new generally causes a freakout. I heard Sephora is going to do a box service soon? I'll be all over that.

@needlebear I really like Birchbox, I did Ipsy for awhile but I felt it had lower quality products and a lot less stuff I wanted. However, I do get a lot of skin stuff, I don't know if that's just my preferences when I signed up or what.

I currently do Popsugar Must Have and Petit Vour. I also used to do Goodebox and Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, but they weren't as good as a deal as Petit Vour when it comes to vegan beauty products for the value. My Subscription Addiction is a great source about subscription boxes - apparently there are a bajillion potential boxes to subscribe to out there. There is also a swapping feature on this website, so you can swap away items you don't want for items you do want with other users.

Aerie makes fantastic 32DDD/F bras. As much as I love my Chantelle bras (loaded up on them before I left one of my retail jobs) at 70 bucks a pop they don't run cheap. I'm so wary of online-only sizes and don't like shopping online too much because I want my shit NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW.
I pretty much only buy if there's free shipping/free returns/free exchanges and bras were pretty much a no-go because there's so many nuances to fit.

The size isn't available in every fit but the ones I got (variations of the Brooke pushup) were fantastic. The pushup is also not too extreme and I love that the styles have different thicknesses in band. One of my pet peeves is trying on bras that have fucking dental floss straps for the f-cups but advertise them as t-shirt bras.

I can fit myself well and this was a pleasant surprise, particularly because they're all $20 or somesuch now. I bought my first non-nude/non-black bra in almost 10 years in my last order and that made me STUPID happy. Also getting 3 bras for $60 too.

I painted my fingernails yesterday. Because I like the semiprecious gemstone lapis lazuli so much, I decided to make my fingernails look like them. I used ultramarine blue nailpolish from Julep Maven (color "Sophia") and clear topcoat containing gold glitter from Wet N Wild Fergie (color "Glamorous") on top.

Those look really good, Mourning Dove. :>

I paid £28 for a Lancome foundation that's not as good as my fuckin £11 Revlon Colourstay (for Normal/Dry Skin) and the attendant at the desk matched me incorrectly too. I feel like an asshole for just buying it at the time. I can't even give it to anyone I know because most of my fam and work colleagues aren't into makeup.

I'm also kinda bricking it because I have to do my own makeup at my sister's wedding and I have no idea how to make my makeup look good under flash photography even after googling tips and shit.

Sorry for ranting, I just wanted all that out of my system. :(
