I didn't even know this thread was a thing :p

Anyways, I'm really conflicted lately about whether to dye my hair. My boyfriend says it's fine, but it's really kind of dull to me and I wonder if I can get away with colouring it while keeping a modest look. Maybe highlights?

I'm hoping to get these one day.

Double post, but I have also been wondering about this since it is summer in the northern hemisphere...how does one get a close shave on the legs? Despite being half-Asian I still have to shave every other day lest I become too prickly. I use a Venus Spa Breeze razor to shave in the middle of my showers since that is when the hair follicles are dilated and moist from the shower steam. I use some leftover eco-friendly shampoo containing shea butter as a sort of shaving lather. I also shave against the hair grain. Any suggestions?

I'm a fellow hapa but I'm usually good for four days legwise. I also shave against the grain but I try to exfoliate beforehand. I always seem to miss a strip of hair anyway but I think exfoliating also helps out. Maybe a salt scrub? They're easy to make but also pretty inexpensive.

@Epione I've had highlights for a very long time and done a few all-over dyes. As much as I love the look of all-over color (we're talking neon pink and Sonic blue here) it needed so much more work to maintain. Highlights are a good compromise (especially if you're apprehensive) if you want to try color.

A few months back I bleached my bangs and a chunky streak on each side of my face which was my sort of compromise between a full head of color and just highlights. That way it looked less obvious when roots started to show and I could pull off a more "yeah, I made them that way" look.

Is this your first time dyeing your hair? If so, would you be seeing a pro? I have dark hair so I saw a pro for a few years and then did my own bleach from then on. There's a whole can of worms for people with dark hair and bleach to deal with.

Use a men's razor. They're meant for the face so you'll usually get a closer shave :3

Yes, I've never done this before so I'd definitely get it professionally done. My hair is like medium-dark brown so I'd have to bleach it, but I'd be too afraid of fucking up to try it myself.

If anyone is looking for some really good mascara, try Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara. It's a little expensive at $23USD, but god it's so worth it. I'm a standard drugstore cosmetics user, but this is the only upscale makeup I make an exception for because it works so well. Just one coat makes your lashes look incredibly long and thick, and it isn't even clumpy. Imo, it's the closest you can get to false lashes without actually being false lashes. Only downside I can think of is that it isn't waterproof, but then again there could be a waterproof version I just don't know about. Regardless, if you're looking for good mascara, Too Faced BTS is amazing.

Wow, that stuff looks ridiculous. I swore off expensive mascara because I use so much.

I've been using Nyx's Pin-Up Tease which is something like $10 and it makes my lashes very long. The formula is a little wet but once it dries it does not budge. It's the kind of mascara that you'll need remover + oil to get it all. It's not even marketed as waterproof but it's lasted me some really epic cries. It would be a cheap try if you're curious.

Another vote for Better Than Sex. Also love the Urban Decay Perversion mascara with the Subversion primer - lashes for days, seriously. My lashes are pretty long, I just like them fuller. I can't wear falsies to save my life, I look ridiculous. I think I'm doing it wrong. I have the right glue, decent lashes, watched like 15 different application technique videos, I just feel like a fluttery eyelash monster with them on. But I really like the idea of wearing them, help?

I love Diorshow and CG Lash Blast (the orange one).
Best lashes ever was when I used Latisse and 1000 Hour last tint.

Have you tried using different kinds of lashes? I've done the little individual (think bunch of threes) kind that take a while to put on but don't look so much like our friend Patrick Star here.

I never got over the fluttery eyelash monster feeling. I also have long lashes so I like a mascara that fills everything out a little more. Last time I wore falsies was for my 21st birthday. I refuse to wear contacts because I have always found them incredibly uncomfortable (even when I wore them on a more consistent basis) and my falsies kept bumping my glasses. I ended up wearing them a little lower but it bugged me :(

Anyone else here obsessed with Bath and Body Works? I've gotten to the point where I'm basically hoarding everything I can get there so without further ado...

(I also have a candle and a tiny room spray somewhere)

My favorites right now are Sweet Magnolia & Clementine and Country Chic... I'm so bummed out that neither of them are in stores anymore *sigh*

@A Skeleton I just got newly obsessed with it. One of my best friends, throughout our middle school years, would always make us goodie bags with the little antibac sprays, mini fragrance mists, shower gels, and tea candles. I was a fucking MONSTER for plumeria and I STILL am. I bought just the shea cream and the shower gel during the throwback sale because I would never forgive myself if I fell into dousing my body and hair with the plumeria fragrance mist the way I did when I was 12.

That said, I fucking love B&BW. I used my $10 off coupon and got some pump soaps. My grandpa gave us an enormous jug of that really nasty dial soap (the sorta pearlescent one) and the smell is so off-putting to me and thankfully it's nearly gone. My mom and I just got some wallflowers too. The fresh water and sea salt one smells just like the ocean parts of Soarin' Over California.

I have a few shower gels that I rotate around now. I was also really happy to see Sensual Amber back in my local store.

(ignore the filter plz. That one took me a sec.)

I love that dark blue sandalwood shower gel. It smells so clean.

I am very picky at B&BW. Most of it smells like sugary bullshit. But I do love when they have clean, watery/floral scents.

My absolute favorite B&BW was the original Wild Poppy, I think from the mid 90s. It smelled like spring and earth and growing things. I never go there anymore because they discontinued all of my favorites, also it gives my husbro headaches. Now I go for dark, strong scents. My #1 right now is Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, it's for men but it is the sexiest thing ever. Also Donna Karan Black Cashmere, Nest Midnight Fleur, Thierry Mugler Alien, and Dior Hypnotic Poison.

Cucumber Melon was my favorite when I was 12... I'm never going to forgive myself for not buying it during the throwback sale ugh ugh ugh

The sandalwood shower gel is amazing!! I hate the sugary scents, they all smell the same to me so I mostly just stick to florals and what I already know and like.

I was really into BBW in my early 20s. Japanese Cherry Blossom was my favorite lotion, and it reminds me of trekking to my university anthropology classes mid-winter.

I used to love Japanese Cherry Blossom until I used it too much. Then I got tired of it... it also reminds me too much of my sister, it's one of her favorites.

Spicebomb is amazing! I had a teeny tiny sample bottle of Alien that I could only wear a couple of times but it's definitely one of my all time favorites (including all my B&BW stuff). If only I wasn't too broke to buy a real bottle...

What is a good place to sell used makeup, or makeup samples? I have a lot of barely used makeup and Ipsy samples and shit like that. Mostly, what I see are "swap" groups but I don't know if I'm really interested in swapping, I kind of just want the stuff gone.
Edit: donating is fine too, it just seems like most places only want brand new stuff.
