I recently discovered how beautifully navy blue eye shadow sets off dark eyes and brightens eye whites, so I want to pick up Sydney Grace's Indiana Love and possibly the complementary shimmer Deep Water soon. It'll be my first SG shadow - usually stick with Urban Decay singles. Anyone know how it compares to #itsaboy? It's another dark blue matte and looks identical in some swatches.
(Temptalia swatches - pretty)
Also, any recommendations for a Sydney Grace purple or green? Since I'm already ordering something, it's a chance to try a new color. SG has overwhelmingly many well-reviewed choices, though.
Does anyone watch the YTer Abby Williamson and what do you think of her? I think she's pretty SJW but I still watch her videos for some reason. I kind of like that she criticizes consumerism but she clearly is one herself. Also, I posted about this in the skincare thread but did anyone see Deceim virtue signaling about being anti-Black Friday and anti-consumerism? I enjoyed their sale this month don't get me wrong but it just seemed fake when a skincare company who packages stuff in non biodegradable plastic tubes is lecturing like this.
I watch Abby sometimes and her social justice can be grating, especially the Biden stuff around election time. It's easy to overlook since she seems like a well-intentioned SJW trying to vote with her wallet, as opposed to the sort of SJW-masquerading grifters and degenerates who get threads here. Just, as with many SJWs, her priorities are lopsided - boycotting ColourPop's Sandstone release for cultural appropriation (after being educated, since she didn't even know the motifs came from indigenous peoples in the first place)...while regularly recommending Chinese-made makeup, despite their poor reputation with labor protection. (To be fair, though, despite their low prices, I have no idea how Midas and Juvia's Place treat their employees.) Even so, her anti-hauls are comfy.
Honestly, I just love watching anyone with fun, colorful makeup. Elle S is another youtuber who wears inspiringly colorful makeup, but hers leans more editorial. Maybe you would like her videos, too, if you don't already watch her, Daughter. She's thoughtfully anti-consumer, too, even though she clearly has tons of makeup.
