Any special recommendations?? I checked the site and as much as I like the colors of Smoke Sessions, the weed theme is a little off-putting and I’ve seen mixed reviews for the eyeshadows.

Also if anyone cares, the Scott Barnes sale is still ongoing and the Snatural palette that I bought is incredible. If anyone’s looking for a workhorse warm-leaning neutral palette, it rocks! I’ve used it almost every day since I got it.

Edit: anyone interested in Wayne Goss cosmetics? I never bought his brushes because I’m not that gal, but the new lip collection is beautiful if very basic.
I really like Wayne Goss. I like his brushes and his products, they're not super flashy but they've got great utility and they're always lovely.

He's also one of the few YT beauty gurus that I find helpful as opposed to just showing what they can do to their own face.

John MacLean would probably make a killing if he launched a collection.

I ordered these platforms, and I am scared and excited at the same time to get them. This will be my first "pretty high" platform shoes I'll own aaaaaa

anyone have any detangling tips for curly/wavy hair? brushing it just makes it look bad
detangle in the shower while your hair is loaded with conditioner. Use a wide tooth comb like the Goodie shower comb. Edit: also comb the ends first and work your way to the roots slowly in short strokes.

Funny/sad story to share.

Wanted to dye my hair because I was getting some crack ho roots, ordered dye a month ago on Amazon. Order got delayed cause the shipping facility had a huge Corona breakout. Package got transferred to another facility. I got an email today saying it's also gotten a coronavirus breakout and they don't know when they can deliver.

I'll probably get it for Christmas now. Lol (:_(
i don't know if you live in the US, but I recommend eSalon. Your first order will be half price (like ten bucks). They have maintained excellent service throughout the pandemic.a

I have ringlets and use a detangling brush (wet brushes are like $10 and work well) and wide tooth comb. I usually like to brush right after a shower then squish my hair into a towel to make the curls pop more. Another pro tip is using shea moisture curl smoothie while wet too.

all the tips the others have given + adding some sort of hair oil. I use rose hip oil along with a ton of leave in conditioner & it helps prevent tangling and keeps it soft.
I also switched from like a cotton scrunchie to a satin scrunchie and my hair no longer gets super tangled in it so satin/silk hair ties or scarves are good for sleeping

Anyone here ever buy from rainbow shops? Seems to be like ross with an even slimmer amount of items.
I have a bunch of aunt given gift cards but none of the items appeals to me.
Remember when "Shit X people say" was a bit of a trend on YouTube? Shit white girls say, shit black girls say, shit white guys say to Asian girls, et cetera? A "Shit Latina girls say" video I watched had a bit about how semi-trashy Latinas love Rainbow.
I've only ever seen them in areas bordering on ghetto, so solely based on that I wouldn't expect anything great. I already favor TJ Maxx over Ross, since every time I go to Ross the clothes seem super cheap and ugly.

Oh I love this thread! I kind of feel uncomfortable when I'm too girly, so I go for "I'm a delinquent and wear lipstick just because the catholic school my mom put me into won't let"

My absolute favorite pair of shoes was some black leather boots like the ones they wear in the army, only a bit softer on the edges because having big german feet was always ugly to me so softer shapes kinda hide that.
My first one I bought when I was 15 and it lasted 5 years until it got holes on the sides somehow from so much wearing it. Saddest departure, because as a kid with big feet (it had just stopped growing) who walks a lot to school it was also one of my first shoes to actually last.
I bought a similar one but the soles were stiff as fuck so from so much flexing while walking they broke in half in just 5 months.
My favorite color is red, and doc martens are really expensive around here, so when my mom traveled overseas she bought me some red martens rip-off (out of good intentions, she didn't even know what doc martens were) and I'm okay with a rip, but I couldn't even wear them because size conversion got it to the smaller size and I actually (warning:disgusting) lost my big toe nail insisting on wearing something that won't serve me.
I've heard docs aren't even that good, let alone a ripoff, but couldn't even handle getting them through the months of tests :(

TL;DR: I'm really sentimental about my manly girly boots.

Random question but does anyone have any good tips on cutting straight bangs. I usually got the bob with bangs gping but because of quarantine it's grown to much and looks awful getting put to the side. I just don't want the to look insanely crooked because I know they won't be perfect straight across anyway since I'm doing it. Anyone else been struggling cutting their own hair In this mess lmao?
I know I'm late, but I think I can help. So, what I usually do is I line them up straight/vertically after I shower. When they dry they'll be a little straighter. After they dry, if they need to be cut, I'll split it into three sections and try and cut each evenly. Even with all that, I also usually have to take an iron to straighten them.

Tbh the clothes on the website are so basic and cheap looking that they also sell school uniforms.
Not to knock on Uniform sellers, but in my experience a shop that sells basic uniforms is usually selling cheap, mass produced goods from china at a mockup. I really only wear loose, decently made clothes that can survive farm work and muck from my meat job. Even if i do dress up im not wearing something that may fall apart after a wash.
Id probably buy $75 worth of their sketchbooks but not for $7. Might just get some uniforms or stockings for my family, ugh

Thanks

I can relate
I wore a size 10 new balance shoe since high school. Also have a low arch and wide feet so i couldn't wear the cool bright toms, vans ect like everyone else. Just these big clunky sneakers because i have duck feet

I used to shop there when I was broke. It's real ghetto. If you have gift cards burning a hole in your pocket, they are good for stocking up on basic tees and tanks. They will only last 1-2 seasons but they always have tons of colors to choose from. You might find a cute dress. It's like Burlington but only the no name brands with no brand names mixed in.

I like their eyeliner pencils and gel eyeliner formula, if you're into that (they call it gel but it's more like a cream imo)
Did you try this one (the shades called Ok Boomer)? It's been in my basket for a while now

Also has anyone ever bought clothes from Zaful or Shein?? Some of their stuff is actually cute but buying clothes from China is always a risk

I've heard it's very hit or miss. It's also not the friendliest if you have big boobs or hips.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from yesstyle. I've liked a lot of the clothes there for awhile, but never actually ordered anything. Most of the things I bought had positive reviews, so I'm optimistic?

I also picked up some pleated schoolgirl style skirts in various colors. I really like crop tops and high waisted skirts lately, I just hope I actually get to go outside and wear these things this summer.

I haven’t tried the liner but Temptalia gave it a good review here. Her reviews are usually trustworthy and she’s very thorough in what she tests. It does look pretty!

Where do y’all buy your swimsuits? I’m on the prowl for a new one even though I probably won’t use it this summer. I’m at the point in my life where revealing is not cute but I’m not about to cough up $100 for a swimsuit. Any suggestions?

That's so damn cute. Can I get a link for that first set and the last cropped top? Can't find them myself on YS.

I've bought a lot of stuff on YS over the years, but never clothes. I haven't had a bad experience yet. They have always shipped fast and everything was packaged well, and the reviews appear truthful. Hopefully the same can be said with their clothes.

Yes!

That's good to know. I've been aware of them for a long time and never heard anything really bad. Unfortunately the set didn't have reviews, but I think at least one item will probably work out.

Edit, fixed link
