I saw that the brand Karity was in CVS. I bought the liquid lipstick in Fade Out and this is probably the best liquid lipstick I ever tried. I'll see how it wears more after a few days.

Update: I've been wearing this lipstick since I bought it. It lasts while eating except for anything super greasy. It is drying but it's not uncomfortable (unlike Colourpop's matte liquid lipsticks), it feels like powder on your lips. I'll end up buying some more from Karity's website (since it's cheaper than CVS, it was $8.99 there vs $6 on the site) when there's a sale. And at some point, I'll try their eyeshadows too.

I want to get microblading done, the place I'm looking at has some really good results before/after photos. I wanted to see how I'd feel with "done" brows and a naked face so I filled them in with no other makeup and it looked weird to me.

Does anybody here have micrbladed brows and if so, was it weird getting used to it?

I dyed my (head) hair dark a few times and it looked great in photos and to other people but every time I saw it in the mirror it bothered me. This feels like the brows would be like that.

I do, but I always did my brow makeup anyway and the microblading was really just to make it easier. So it wasn't a huge change. It was very dark at first so that was a little strange, but it faded quickly.
I would try doing your brow makeup more often if it's not something you do a lot to get more comfortable with the look. And definitely go to the best place you can find, sounds obvious but I went to like the 2nd best place and I wish I had just gone to the best one.

I am convinced that ColourPop has bugged my house, because they're releasing a Sailor Moon collection on Thursday. They just keep wanting my money! I don't plan on getting the entire collection, but I am most definitely getting the blushes, the eyeshadow palette, and one of the lip gloss duos.

I've already seen a lot of people complaining about the "basic bitch" color story and how the packaging needed to be hard plastic transformation brooch compacts and transformation wands like on the show. Firstly, if ColourPop did that fancy packaging, then I guarantee that would jack up the prices (which would lead to those same people bitching about that). Secondly, I love the color story; it looks like ColourPop did their homework and paid proper attention to the Japanese makeup style trends of today. Sure, an eyeshadow palette using the colors of the Sailor Guardians' actual uniforms would have been cool to look at, but I probably wouldn't have used it much. The pastels in this palette scream Sailor Moon to me, and I love the shimmery golds and champagnes I see in this promo picture.

Anyway, I dig it. It's an adorable collection, and I can't resist those adorable Luna blushes. I'm a Sailor Moon fan in my 30s, and I have zero desire to wear makeup that will make me look like I belong on Ru Paul's Drag Race, kthx.

Are colourpop blushes good?

I think their regular blushes are fine. Not "absolutely mindblowing," but they are good standard blushes with a really good price point.

Their supershock blushes are hella pigmented, though. If you want a blush that can compare to something more expensive or high end, then these are what I recommend.

The Sailor Moon x ColourPop collection launched today at 10am PST. All hell broke loose, as most of the collection sold out in about five minutes. I was able to get the eyeshadow palette and some of the lip products. Sadly, I was not able to get the Luna blushes. When I went to checkout, I was put in a queue, and by the time I was able to check out, the blushes were gone.

Okay, I don't feel that sad, but I definitely made a frowny face when I was told they were out of stock, haha. People online are absolutely losing their shit over it, though. At the end of the day, it's just makeup. Makeup that ColourPop has said that they will restock, no less.

The only thing I'm preturbed about is that scalpers definitely played a part in this. I've checked eBay, and I see that the set is being sold at around 4x the amount that ColourPop was selling it. Those assholes. I wish that ColourPop placed a limit on quantities per order. Literally my only gripe.

I'm excited about the eyeshadow palette, though. I've already looked at swatches, and it looks amazing. Never thought I'd get excited over a yellow eyeshadow, but here we are. The yellow in the palette looks gorgeous.

I really think the palette would be better if there were bold colors to represent the Sailor Scouts, but it looks good nonetheless. I am tempted to pick it up but I have been fixated on Juvia's Place for eyeshadows. I do want the Usagi blotted liquid lipstick though.
Colourpop are smart, I bet my makeup drawer they release a palette and mini collection for all the inner senshi at least.

I love Juvia's Place. Dominique Cosmetics has a great formula too. The first Latte palette is a staple of mine.

ColourPop, on the day before the release, was asking fans on Twitter and Facebook about whether they'd be interested in more Sailor Moon collabs that represent some of the other Sailor Guardians.

After the way this collection sold out so quickly today, I guarantee they're going to do another one in the near future.

I really admire ColourPop (/Seed Beauty) as a company. They scour social media to see what products people are talking about and asking for, and they manufacture their products in the US very quickly to meet demand as fast as possible. Since most of the product is sold online, they can do small batches - no need to take the risk of shipping thousands of products to Ulta and Sephora that might not sell and play shelf space games with those retailers. If the product does well, make more next week, and everyone wants it even more, because it already sold out once. They can take more risks on weird products. A lot of the product and packaging is really similar, like just printed cardboard with a picture, so they don't need to come up with new molds and formulas for everything.
Their advertising goes at the speed of social media. No need to plan ahead for print magazine spreads next quarter, just slap up some Facebook and Instagram posts and ship it out to a few influencers who will churn out video ads within a week. Take the comments from social media and go back to the drawing board for next week's product.
It all sounds easy, but it's not that easy. I guess my big question is how they manufacture in the US and still be so cheap, but I suppose makeup is already super high margin, maybe they just have a 40% margin instead of like 80%+

Totally agreed. I find that ColourPop is innovative with a lot of the products they make. The Supershock formulas? The Jelly Much formulas? The Gliterally Obsessed formulas with their kitschy nostaglic appeal? All really great AND fun stuff that I frankly don't see other brands doing.

A lot of beauty "gurus" on YouTube have been poopoo-ing ColourPop's releases lately. It's pretty elitist, to be honest. I think a lot of it has to do with the more affordable and accessible nature of the brand.

I wish the jelly much shadows didn’t dry out so fast! I bought one that I loved and even with keeping the little plastic cover on it, it was unusable in a month. :(

a lot of the colourpop disdain also comes from how it’s recently become very chic to be “eco-conscious“ and to accuse brands and makeup consumers of waste. As virtue signaling trends go, it’s pretty annoying.

And yet these gurus receive PR packages up the wazoo and have literal hoards of makeup while they wag their fingers at everybody else. Man, do I miss the days of simple makeup tutorial videos.

I agree about the Jelly Much eyeshadows. They're really good products and look amazing when you wear them ... But they absolutely do dry out quicker than you have the time to actually use them up. Hopefully one of these days, the formula can improve. ColourPop has updated some of their formulas before.
