Same thing happened to me with ColourPop on Black Friday. I ordered the Tiana Disney Designer set but they sent me the Jasmine one. I told customer service and they replied pretty quickly, telling me that I will get my actual set soon. Never mentioned anything about returning the Jasmine set, not like I am complaining!

Nice! I ordered the Ariel, Belle, and Snow White sets, and I ended up getting a Tiana set, several Tiana lipsticks, Cinderella lipsticks, Jasmine lipsticks, several lipsticks from their regular line, and a handful of different palettes.

One thing I will say about the Tiana set: The "Almost There" Supershock Eyeshadow is GORGEOUS. I can't wait to do metallic/sparkly smoky eyes with it. You're going to love that shade; it's one of the most beautiful brown eyeshadows I've seen in a long time.

I was afraid of the Tiana lipstick at first because it's so dark and my skintone is so fair/pale, but I tried it out and I wasn't mad at how it looked on me. I thought it was going to be a really dark reddish brown, but it's actually more of an oxblood color; much redder than I thought. It's a vampy shade on me, and while that's different from what I typically wear, I actually dig it.

When it comes to lipsticks in general, I gravitate towards traditional reds, corals, and rosy pinks/nudes, so the bubblegum pink of the Cinderella lipstick and the hot pink of the Jasmine lipstick were outside of what I normally wear as well. I tried those on too, and I surprisingly love how they look.

As much as I would love to play with all of the other lipsticks and all of the palettes I got, it's just too much makeup for me to have, lol. I'm giving those away to my friends.

@SAVE TWINKIE! I got the vest, and unfortunately I was disappointed! The fabric is soft, but the material looks like a cheap sweater from forever 21 that you aren't supposed to put in the drier, but someone did anyway.
I'm ok with a distressed look, but it's a bit much. In comparison, I used to have this UNIF sweater which is a similar idea, and the threads were a lot thicker and cleaner looking. So although it's distressed it doesn't have a dumpy look.
It's also a lot bulkier at the top than it appears in the photo, and I should have realized the model is doing things you wouldn't normally be doing while actually wearing it, like holding it out to the side. When its just hanging there it doesn't look that great. Also, the description says it has a hood and it doesn't. So I'm gonna return it.
otoh I like the Current Mood dress a lot, it's very cute.
On the topic of distressed clothing, I think some of this brand looks cool

Oh man, that company's "About us" page reads like a Dr. Bronner's bottle.

I've been pretty iffy about buying stuff from DollsKill. I noticed a couple of their shoes are brandless and you can find them for a fraction of the price elsewhere.
These shoes in particular, are $45 on DollsKill, but $29 on Amazon.

Also, it'd be a good idea to check the actual brand's website because they might have better promos than DollsKill does. I made a good decision to check Rocket Dog's website because they had free shipping for the shoes I wanted off DK, on top of that, a 45% off promo. Saved myself about $15!
It's also the best coconut scented lotion I've ever smelled. It's not sweet coconut, it's creamy coconut scented.
I love creamy coconut scents. I might have to buy myself a bottle. The air has been really dry this year.

I too found a better deal on Amazon for a pair of branded shoes that I saw on Dollskill. I wouldn't buy shoes there.

Also I think you can probably get a lot of those nameless bags they have on DK from ebay or aliexpress or whatever. I haven't checked on that because their bags are too wild for me but they definitely look like generic chinese made stuff.

I worked at a store once that happened to sell a tshirt that was also on Dollskill. Same price, but I remember thinking it was super weird because we were told that we exclusively used in-house graphic designers for most of our tshirts. Other stores sold their "unicorn snot" glitter as well, but my store didn't.
I'm not surprised that you can buy Dollskill items elsewhere for cheaper. The more I read about them or look at their new stuff, the more disappointed I am. I'm pretty disappointed in Pretty Pastel Please on YT too since she whores for Dollskill constantly now, which she acknowledges isn't financially possible for most of her viewers - yet it feels like she has a new Dollskill video every week.

It's my impression that the Pretty Pastel Please channel always featured excessive clothing hauls, ordered with the intention of returning anything that didn't fit or that she didn't like - before she'd established these sponsored relationships, she'd occasionally lose track of return windows and be stuck with a lot of clothes she'd paid for out of pocket.

I'm overtly hostile to cheaply made fast fashion, but if this is what someone is shopping for, I can understand why youtube haul channels would feature much more clothing than any normal person would need or want. So much of this stuff seems to fall short on either quality of materials or quality of construction, run weirdly large or small, have too much stretch or not at all, or be cut in some strange way that is obscured by the site model's fashun pose but looks really odd on a normal human body. This is the kind of thing it's nice to know before spending money on clothes sight unseen.

But with these limited edition collabs and special collections from Dollskill et al., much of the stuff seems to sell out before the videos are even uploaded. I imagine it must be difficult to balance transparency - "I got this stuff for free because I've established a working relationship with this brand" - with seeming like you're bragging - "I'm a big-time influencer with lots of sponsors and heaps of free stuff- what is this 'retail price?'" And by and large, positive reviews perform better with viewers. Pretty Pastel Please has started forgetting what items cost - after all, she's not paying for them anymore - and she's concomitantly far less critical of cute clothing that is of poor quality at its price point.

This isn't helpful information for shoppers, but just reinforce a scarcity mentality encouraging viewers to rush out and buy the next collection straightaway for fear of missing out again. It is disappointing.

What I liked about her was that she tried websites that offered "fast fashion" but had slightly dubious reputations, tried a variety of different kinds of clothes, and took suggestions from watchers for her "YWIBI" videos. Plenty of people are interested in sites like Fashion Nova, Honeybum, Pretty Little Thing, Yesstyle, Wish, etc. because they want to be on trend but don't want to shell out tons of money. I actually started buying makeup and skincare from Yesstyle after her reviews of their products - wouldn't buy clothes from them though.

But Dollskill is pretty much the complete opposite of what she used to do. I don't think the clothes are any better made than Fashion Nova's, but the price tags are huge. A lot of it is extremely skimpy or **aesthetic** yet impractical, so I don't think it's a brand that her original audience would actually be shopping for. Even when I was making a decent amount of money, I didn't think to drop $80 on rhinestone and beaded velvet flare pants. And she's getting the new collection stuff, so like you said, she is only mentioning price as an afterthought.

It seems like her hauls have gone from "I tried buying from this website to see if the clothes/products are any good and to take the risk myself so you don't have to," to "omg watch me try on all these super pretty clothes, this is so nice, so well made, I look amazing, teeheehee".

I respect her for being so transparent about what she gets for free or how she is sponsored. But if her channel had started out with her trying on loads of expensive clothes while wearing a face full of Jeffree Star and talking about how much she loves Shane Dawson, I wouldn't have subscribed.

also her live-in ex boyfriend is a massive cuck and I am 90% sure she cheated on him with her fat slob of a fiance.

One of my little cousins is always ordering shit from Wish and Yesstyle, because she's a literal child playing dress-up on youtube. If you pay attention to reviews that note fabric quality, you can often find clothes on Yesstyle for cheaper than the cost of buying materials at retail price. All you have to do is replace the fasteners with better fasteners, and finish by hand, and you have a garment that looks much more expensive than what you paid for it.

At the moment, there seem to be a lot of try-on channels uploading these clusters of Dollskill hauls, with disclaimers about how it isn't their usual style and how it took them forever to actually get their hands on the clothes. I suspect this is a Dollskill campaign where the scheduling went pear-shaped, leaving creators scrambling to meet their obligations by a deadline rather than spacing out these hauls amongst other content.

On Instagram, Pretty Pastel Please seems aware that her channel has been heavy on the wardrobe hauls, thanks her viewers for sticking with her regardless, and looks forward to uploading other kinds of videos. But much of her viewership is quite young, and might not be following her on every platform. I still feel like she dropped the ball here.

If I had to guess, I'd say "poly household, where the fellas are 'really good friends' in the manner of Frog and Toad."

I liked her haul videos when it was from a cheap website. Even if it was an amount of money I wouldn't spend on the website, like $500 or whatever, I did realize that she was likely going to return a lot of it or use it as gifts if it was from a non-return-friendly site like Wish.

But she's not returning jack shit from Dollskill because she's getting it for free.

she actually did an "explanation" video and basically she was dating the cuck for a while, then they went on a ski trip holiday with friends and she met the fat slob, shortly afterward she and cuck "decided they would be better off as friends" (mhmm sure) and cuck actually went and told fat slob that he should ask her out because she liked him.

Back on topic - I'm likely to get some Ulta dosh for Christmas and I need foundation. My skin is as bad as Kailyn Wilcher and nothing I've tried works - organic products, expensive products, multi-product routines - for more than maybe a couple of months. I can't do Accutane just yet but that's my eventual goal - in the meantime what are good extreme coverage foundations that won't break my bank?

Like I mentioned in the Kai thread I like the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation in combination with the shape tape concealer. The only problem is that I like a matte finish since my skin is super oily, and that foundation is very thick and hard to keep matte and not grossly moist on my skin.

I use Japonesque foundation on days where I just need to even out my skin tone and look less scary, but it doesn't give as much coverage. I use the Amazonian Clay foundation for things like job interviews, family visits, anywhere where there might be photos taken, et cetera.

My faves for full-coverage are Estee Lauder Double Wear (though it doesn't have the greatest range of colors) and Lock-It by KVD.

Depending on how much coverage you need, CoverFX or Dermablend might be options too.

If the only problem you have with the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation is that it isn't matte, dust a setting powder on top of it; not only will it prevent the foundation from looking greasy, but it should also prevent it from moving around on your skin. Make sure to pick a powder without titanium dioxide, as it causes flashback. (If I could make a cheap recommendation: RCMA No Color powder. My photo gets taken a lot and I have never had problems with flashback.)

If you're set on using a new foundation, however: extreme coverage ones are all pretty greasy. I agree with the above posters in their recommendations; those foundations will cover up acne, but they are uncomfortably heavy in my experience. I would recommend Wet N Wild's Photo Focus foundation for a product that is not only cheap, but effective and less greasy. Apply and blend with a beauty blender-- NOT a brush-- for the best coverage. I definitely recommend setting it with a powder, as I do with almost every foundation. If your acne is severe, two layers should do the trick.

I've been using a oil control powder I got from Yesstyle to set (I think it's innisfree, I had two of them but used one up), it usually works pretty well!

I'll look into the RCMA No Color powder and the Photo Focus foundation for daily wear, Wet N Wild has always been within my budget but their products seem to be seriously hit or miss. I always apply with a beauty blender, as my acne makes me OCD about brush bacteria and I could never wash out a foundation brush to my liking.

Not exactly a specific recommendation, but it’s usually a more effective strategy to invest more into heavy skincare than heavy coverage makeup. If you can pinpoint your specific concerns, you can get to a point where you could be comfortable wearing spf and moisturizer. Acne dots (no specific brand, just look for “hydrocolloid”) have really cleared my adult acne to the point where foundation feels unnecessary. I only wear eye and lip makeup now, and my favorite everyday things are loreal lash paradise mascara, rimmel scandaleyes kohl liner, physicians formula eye booster liner, and too faced’s chocolate bon bon palette. As for lipsticks, I do love the loreal les chocolates whole line, the scent eerily mirrors brownie batter. The colors are pretty much everything proof, so much so that they’re a pain to remove, sadly. I recently found a KvD Shade+Light palette at TJ Maxx, and I think it’s nice enough too.

Sorry for the delayed response. I always forget to log back in.

The main complaints about the Photo Focus are that it settles into fine lines without a setting powder-- however, I have yet to find a foundation that doesn't do that-- and it smells like paint (it does, but you get used to it, and the smell doesn't linger once it dries). After spending hundreds of dollars and going through dozens of samples of foundation, the Photo Focus was my saving grace: it is the perfect consistency, coverage, and price. I really think you'll like it. I can't imagine two coats wouldn't cover your acne.

If you don't mind, will you update us here? I love a good foundation success story.

Polexiadamus was wrong and I got no dosh at all for Christmas. However I'm going to need to get more foundation soon anyway, so I'll update as soon as I get some!

I picked up some Vicco turmeric facewash and face cream from the international grocery near my parents' house, so hopefully some of my acne will go away, at least for a week or so before my skin gets used to it again...still need coverage for scars and redness though!

Honestly, an oil free face scrub and a layer of CeraVe overnight to moisturize is so cheap and so helpful for keeping skin healthy. At least I’ve found success with it.

Also, witch hazel is a gentle astringent that closes your pores, which in turn keeps bacteria from growing and causing acne. Just put a layer on before applying any lotion or foundation.
