The ultimate girly question:

What's the best way to treat period related headaches? Today's day 1 and I already got one. Right now I'm taking Naproxen but are there easier remedies?

Personally, I prefer tylenol/acetaminophen and lots of water to NSAIDs like naproxen or ibuprofen for headaches, especially if it's just a headache without cramps.

Anyone have any recommendations for pink hair dye? I recently dyed my hair pink using Manic Panic's "Hot Hot Pink". I love the color, but I'm not super thrilled with how quickly it seems to be fading already. A friend of mine also suggested Special Effect's "Atomic Pink", and it seems to work super well for her. I'd like to try it, but I'm also open to suggestions of anything that will truly stain not only my hair, but the innermost depths of my soul.
I bought overtone and dry shampoo to try to maintain the brightness in the meantime, but I'd rather not have to worry so much about it fading SO quickly.

The problem with fantasy colors is that it is not actual dye that opens the cuticle of your hair, but it directly deposits the color, so fading it's part of the package. Sulfate free shampoo is recommended, but also check if any salon near you offers the Fabuloso Pro custom colors. Basically, they mix and match a color conditioner that you can use at home for manteinance.

I have a question for anyone who's used castor oil before. I finally got some on sale in order to condition my eyebrows and lashes. (I don't believe they actually help growth but prevent damage after regularly wearing eyebrow products and mascara several days a week, which I do.) My question is dumb but hear me out. What was the texture like? This is like no oil I've ever used. It's almost gel like, and thick. Any face oil I've ever used is very runny.

I'm curious, why isn't it actual dye? I don't know anything about hair dye.

Can you ladies inform me when the drawn on eyebrow trend (thanks Kim) that looks like smeared poop is gonna fade out?
When the insta influencer trend burns out? I'm also ready for the drag makeup without any fun colors trend ending.

Seconding being done with instamakeup. Also related: the constant churn of special/limited editions and collabs. It's impossible to keep up with them, and it seems like product quality has taken a hit as a result.

If you are in Canada, you can but Tylenol 1s over the counter (8mg of codiene). It is my staple. If you aren't in canada, try a cold compress on the back of your neck, and warm on your wrists. If the headache persists try the opposite (warm on neck, cool on wrists)

that's normal, it's very weird dense oil that is almost sticky feeling.

Can someone tell me when Urban Decay started to suck? I've been using them since they were just lipstick and nail polish, and they've been bought & sold several times without sucking. I bought the cherry collection, and I could read through the eye shadow and the blush. Where's the pigment? I haven't tried the lipstick yet because I want to get some coordinating lipliner. But when did UD crap out?

Off topic personal story related to topic:
There's a pretty infuriating forum member of a certain community (not here) who is crazy autistic and has to try and defend her like of OMG GIRLIE THINGS, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING A GIRLIE GIRL  BTW IM A LESBIAN BECAUSE I'M IN LOVE WITH A CARTOON CHARACTER, etc

Craziest shit you'll ever read. I kept wanting to ask "Um... who are you even arguing against? No one has said anything otherwise to which you're so crazy defensive over", but then I remembered :autism: and just blocked her instead.

Needless to say, that alone has left a permanent twinge in my psyche every time I see "girlie stuff" henceforth.

Thanks. I get the most annoying headaches during that time.

@LordofTendons Urban Decay was never super pigmented and they always had more glitter than most adults want in their day to day makeup. Their formulas are meant to be buildable (with the obvious exception of that Electric pressed pigment palette) and they were always kind of a gimmicky brand. It was the Naked palettes that brought them massive 'mainstream' success.

I didn't buy the Cherry or Heat palettes because like most people, I don't look good with pink or orange eyes, trends be damned. If you want pink/purple/berry with lots of pigment try the Venus III from Lime Crime or the Venus XL or even the J* blood sugar. Coloured Raine has at least one berry palette and though I haven't tried it, I have the Queen of Hearts by Coloured Raine and it's extremely pigmented. I don't actually own Venus III but I own the first 2 Venus palettes and really enjoyed them (even Venus I is kind of pink but it's more rusty than berry). I also bought Lorac Pro 4 recently which is a berry-like palette and I'm really enjoying that, but the Lorac formula is a love/hate thing so find a way to try before you buy.

Anyway, I wish that UD had instead revamped Naked 1 instead of discontinuing it. With a few tweaks it could live forever.

UD has always had very nice lipsticks IMO but their Vice redesign (for the lipsticks and especially the gloss) has garbage packaging that triggers me because it's so shit.OH and their new glosses taste like shit. I got a sample card with like 5 shades and every single one has an icky taste. Fuck their gloss, my go-to is Bare Minerals gloss or Buxom gloss (which is owned by Bare Minerals). I also like Stila gloss.

Personally I think UD blushes have always been good. They last on me.

I’m glad the quality of limited run products are going down so companies work on making better, permanent staple products. Also lmao at the KVD Fetish Palette disaster :story:
The only urban decay product that is any good anymore is the "all nighter" setting spray in my opinion. I never found their stuff very pigmented.
People I know have had good luck with the 24/7 eye pencils, haven’t tried the sample size black one I got myself.

yeah makeup is so oversaturated right now and there's so many useless bad 'makeup artists' on insta
why do people give mannymua the time of day, that's the real question. his facial hair is bad and his makeup is the most boring thing i've ever seen while still being incredibly heavy.

Tbh I think it's really, truly because he's a gay dude

So straight girls who wanna fag hag, and those who wanna preach about "normalize guys wearing makeup UwU" have someone they can stan for (for the record, I think it shouldn't be an issue for dudes to wear makeup, but there's some people who just want to be asspatted about how open-minded they are)

Same with Jeffrey Star, but at least he, for all the train wreck he is, seems to know what he's doing

but Manny's makeup isn't good, that's the thing, it's not like he's the only makeup dude
i don't like jeffree star but i respect him in a way, he does know what he's doing

They all look like hideous drag queen freaks (including many of the females). That said, I haven't seen Manny making jokes to his 12-year-old audience about soaking his face in cum, nor have I seen him threatening to beat up IG girls half his age. So maybe he's more likeable than Jeffree Starr? Then again I don't watch Manny, maybe he does that shit too.

Shove fag worship down the kids throats, don't be surprised when they worship this garbage.

When it comes to Urban Decay, my favorite products by far are the original Naked Palette (they had better re-release it with new, revamped packaging damn it because I still use my Naked Palette like it's nobody's business), the Naked Skin foundation, and the All-Night Setting Spray. I would say that they make some pretty great eyeliners, too-- the best pencil eyeliners on the market, if you ask me. Their lip products don't "wow" me though. They are expensive for what they are, in my opinion.

I hate that this new Cherry Palette is in the Naked line. There is NOTHING "natural" or "nude" about red, purple, and pink eyeshadows. The fuck, Urban Decay? And I thought that the Naked Heat palette looked just ... Ugly. I only own the first two Naked Palettes, and I do want the third one eventually (because champagne-y and rose gold colors look great with my skin tone, hair color, and eye color ... At least I think those colors do).

Speaking of makeup, one of my close friends somehow managed to snag some of ColourPop's Disney Princess Designer collection before all of it sold out, and she GAVE me some of the stuff she got (because she's just that awesome, thoughtful, and wonderful). From this collection, I have the eyeshadow palette, one of the Supershock Eyeshadows, one of the lip glosses, and the Ariel lipstick. This is the first time I've tried ColourPop's products, and HOLY MOSES am I impressed. Affordable makeup that kicks ass? Hell yeah! The first thing I tried was the eyeshadow palette, and I was blown away by the quality of it when it only costs $20. And the lipstick I have is one of the most perfect nude lipsticks I've ever owned and it's great quality for under $10. I will absolutely be buying more ColourPop stuff in the future. Totally lives up to the years worth of hype I had listened to.

I'm also currently addicted to Besame Cosmetics. I finally purchased their Agent Carter powder, and then I purchased the pearl shell powder from their Mermaid Lagoon collection. I already own their Rose and Violet loose powders, too. Besame's powders are, hands down, my FAVORITE finishing powders on the market. I find that they do not cake up at all when I lightly set my foundation (or if I just want to take some shine off my face). I had been using drugstore finishing powders since forever, but after using these, I don't think I'll ever go back to drugstore powders. Haha.

Can you ladies inform me when the drawn on eyebrow trend (thanks Kim) that looks like smeared poop is gonna fade out?
THANK YOU. This eyebrow trend is an epidemic. All I have ever done with my eyebrows is pluck them every once in a while (when I think they look a little too bushy), and then fill them in lightly with a very natural looking brow pencil. My eyebrows are very light in color in some angles, and they tend to disappear sometimes with flash photography. So, I fill in my eyebrows just a little bit if I know pictures are going to be taken. People's eyebrows should be very low maintenance.

For the past 5 years or so, the makeup trend has been this ungodly mix of Kardashian and drag queen. People need to put own the goddamn eyebrow pencils and contouring products.

I'm prone to migraines, sadly. Excedrin has been my lifesaver for that and for when I get severe cramps. The downside to Excedrin is that it can royally eff up your stomach if you don't eat something to go along with the pill. So I only take it when it is absolutely an emergency and it feels like someone is taking a hammer to my head. Excedrin takes no longer than 15 minutes to feel almost 100% better.

For minor cramps or headaches, I either go with Tylenol or Midol. Midol has been great for my periods throughout the years, really.
