So I used that LA PURE winged eyeliner stamping set ... Here are my initial impressions:

It absolutely helped me achieve evenly applied cat eyes in a ridiculously short amount of time! When I ordered the liner, I noticed that it came in two tubes, which turned out being necessary for one application, as one pen is for the left eye, and the other pen is for the right. That might be a turnoff for some (because if you lose one pen, you're screwed, lol).

In terms of it lasting a long time, I found it to be efficient. It's more of a "marker"-like consistency, so it stays dry. However, it's not fully waterproof. Granted, it smudged a little bit on me after several hours of wear only when I got into a hot tub, but I also think it would smudge if you wiped it too much.

I have slightly hooded eyes, so winged eyeliner has always been tricky for me. I have always been of the mentality that if you have VERY hooded eyes, then cat eyes simply aren't for you (unless you completely overdraw them-- otherwise hooded eyes tend to look droopy with winged eyeliner, IMO). I don't think that this winged eye stamp will solve that, personally. The eyeliner stamp didn't look quite as flawless with my eye shape as it would for someone who doesn't have hooded eyes, but I thought it definitely looked put together enough for me to go out in public wearing it while not feeling self-conscious (which is a big deal for me).

Overall, I really liked this eyeliner! I'm glad I tried it, and while it's not my favorite eyeliner, I can see myself buying it again. It's not very expensive at all, so I'd say it's definitely worth trying.
 
I’ve had good experiences every time I’ve worn the Physician’s Formula Eye booster liquid liner. It’s exactly like the Kat von D liner, but a touch tougher since it won’t crumble when it gets wet. A lot cheaper, too.
 
@StarkRavingMad just curious, do you tightline? And what do you do for your waterline and lower lash line?
I'm curious, because I have hooded eyes too. The struggle ;n;
i'm also very pale and have freckles, but I have dark hair

I don't tightline. Partly because I think tightlining "closes" my eyes, partly because it doesn't feel good when I do it, and partly because I'm too lazy to take that extra step, haha. Personally, I prefer my eyes to look big and open, so I typically use eyeliner to make my lashline look thicker rather than to change my eye shape.

For my lower lashline, I lightly smudge/blend eyeshadow. Sometimes I use eyeshadow that matches my eyeliner, and sometimes I apply a subtle pop of color. For me, if I used eyeliner for my lower lashline, I think it would look too harsh. Nothing against sharp, sultry, or bold eye looks (because I think that they look awesome on other people) ... But I think I personally look better wearing softer looks. I don't think I have a face that can "pull off" just any kind of makeup look.

On a regular basis, I think the craziest thing I do with my eye makeup is that I do enjoy wearing false eyelashes (but I only do that, like, once a year on average, and I tend to go for lashes that are labeled as "natural" haha). I guess I like my makeup to look super feminine and girly instead of bold, sexy, and edgy.
 
Does anyone else like cat eye eyeglasses? I got kind of teased for wanting them because they're Tumblresque but they look cute. I don't want to wear boring eyeglasses.
 
I agree, the cat eye is not a very forgiving shape. If you can pull it off, that's great but most people can't.

I think they look goofy and in many cases, aging.
 
That's why they've never bugged me. I don't mind glasses that make you look old. I had grandma glasses at one point for a while until they broke. I can't stand small frames. Considering that I want heart shaped ones next, I guess goofy doesn't bug me either.
 
^Agreed, lol. In my opinion, very few women who do it can "pull it off." A lot of pseudo intellectual fat guys wear fedoras ... And a lot of pseudo intellectual fat women wear corsets.

On another note @Oscar Wildean, I finally made time to stop by Bath & Body Works. You're right: The Pumpkin Picking scent is awesome. It's a more mature version of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, I think. Luckily all of their Fall scents were 50% off, so I totally stocked up on it, haha.

Also, B&BW had some cute-ass candles! They had some adorable ceramic pumpkin candle holders in many different colors. I wanted several jars of the orange and white pumpkins ... But I held back. I know I'm going to regret not getting them.

I completely second this. I absolutely loath the feeling of most sunscreens, and I've been on a years-long quest to find ones that don't massively trigger my :autism:. Watery essence is the closest I've come to my mythical perfect sunscreen. I do find it a little expensive for a small tube size, so I mostly save it for the weekend or after work, though I really wish I could use it 24/7 since I get a lot of sun exposure.

Neutrogena recently came out with what I guess is their answer to Biore in their hydro boost water gel lotion. It's definitely inferior to watery essence, but if you hate traditional susncreens, or are looking for something a little cheaper and that's available at Walmart, it might be worth a try. It and Hawaiian Tropics Antioxidant+ are my go-to for when I'm not wearing watery essence.
 
I do like corsets though. They're so fancy.
@StarkRavingMad In my opinion Pumpkin Picking is a way better scent than Sweet Cinnamon. For me it's because it doesn't have the overwhelming pumpkin smell and it smells like pumpkin pie.

I feel like it depends on the outfit, if it goes with their outfit (like a renaissance type), then I think that's cool. But I find it weird that they would wear one over their normie clothes.

Agree. Corsets seem pretty fancy to me. I like corsets with Gothic fashion, but a lot of people wear them with random stuff it seems. So it's actually a good comparison. Fedoras are fine when they go with the outfit. A Zelda t-shirt and cargo shorts isn't that outfit.
 
It's Sephora 20% off time for Rouge and Beauty Insider (next week I think). Anybody getting anything?

I need to pick up some more foundation, and it's Armani Luminous Silk, so I always wait for these 20% off days. Otherwise, maybe a new bottle of MoroccanOil.

A cool-toned deep neutral liquid lip for work is on the list too but I haven't had much luck finding one. Any suggestions?
 
I might get some Kiehl's night cream with that Sephora sale. After my recent shopping spree, I definitely don't need any new makeup for a while.

I've been loving their skin care for the past few months. I never had ANY skin issues until I hit age 30, haha. Once I turned 30, I feel like my skin staged a mutiny on me. I break out more easily, my skin is much dryer than it used to be, etc. I've also been diagnosed with eczema over the past year (which is triggered by some foods-- fun!). It's been an annoying experience trying to find new skincare things that work for me.

The Kiehl's stuff has overall been very nice to my skin. The Midnight Recovery Serum is now a MUST for me, and their Avocado eye cream is incredible (I haven't had puffy eyes or dark circles in months). I've been using their day cream as well, and I've liked it quite a lot. It's not the cheapest skin care, that's for sure ... But I find that it they last a really long time because a little bit of product goes a long way.

And speaking of skincare, I've been on the hunt for a new foundation for a while. For 10 years, Revlon ColorStay has been pretty much the only foundation I used. It was amazing. Then, my skin changed and now it doesn't work for me anymore. I've been using the Urban Decay Naked Foundation and have been REALLY loving it lately. It feels super light on my face while it gives me the coverage I need.
 
Seconding Kiehl's, I got their moisturizer in a sample from Sephora the other day and absolutely loved it. My face actually felt hydrated and nice for once (I have combo skin, oily T-zone and dry cheeks)
 
Do any of you use BB cream and concealer, like at the same time? If so, which order do you apply it in lol.
