I started using Opalex on my hair. I got tge 3 oz size opalex #3 from sephora , left about 4 tablespoons worth in my hair all day last Sunday and my hair looked incredible all week.

I then ordered steps 1 and 2 from ebay (in 2 ounce each size because it's like, hundreds of dollars full size) and my hair hasn't looked so good since I was a child with 'virgin' hair.

It's hella expensive but frankly, I don't use much each time and I normally spend 30 bucks a bottle on conditioner that lasts a month or so that I don't need to buy now.

last week it was muggy, rainy and windy here and my hairhair could not have cared less.

@one_time_user I may need to try this stuff! My hair texture is a pain in the ass; it's really hard to give it any style, so I typically just take a straightening iron to it and call it a day (and even then, without fail, it doesn't take much for it to start frizzing). This stuff sounds great though! I've been using Bumble and Bumble stuff for about a year now, and while it works far better than anything else I've used, it still isn't perfect-- especially for its price point.

@Lackadaisy Maybe? They come out with new scents all of the time. Bath & Body Works used to have an aromatherapy scent (for sleep) that was milky and it was amazing ... Buuuutttt of course they discontinued it several years ago, sadly. I still have the pillow mist of it, and I've been savoring it for years and years, haha.

Are there any fragrances with a milky scent? I really like that sort of thing.
I don’t know about fragrances, but lush has a m ilk bath bomb that’s nice. Scent lasts for about a day on my skin, so maybe if you ever get time for a bath it’d be a treat. Demeter might have something for you, they have a large amount of specific and well labeled fragrances.

Somewhat related, but I actually just caved in to the Elvira collection and it’s great. The one called Sexy Witch is my favorite, but I use Black Roses for work. Great replacement for the Kat von D perfumes I used to love, but I think they’re limited edition sadly.

Even later, but thank you @Oscar Wildean for the hair advice! Picked out the rice treatment, things seem to be sorting themselves out :)

@ComputerWife. That's cool, I'm glad to see that something worked. You can always experiment with the Mane shampoo and conditioner later on to see if that helps you. My mom had a thinning brittle hair problem because of her thyroid and she always used that to improve her hair and make it look nicer. It makes hair shiny and nice because it's used on horse hair.

I'm exceptional when it comes it eyeshadow and following tutorials, so I use urban decay eyeliner to do the smoky goth look. I will also dab some eyeshadow over it. ;.;

My hair has been a bit dry ever since I came home from my summer vacation. Does anybody here know of a good moisturizing shampoo or conditioner that can be found in Europe (preferably one that is easy to find in Sweden/Scandinavia) and that works well for naturally brown hair?

Not sure if your country sells this product, but I use this hair mask/conditioner to soften my hair up after I've dyed it. It's worked wonders on my hair.

I know this is mostly a beauty product thread, but I thought I'd say that if you need leggings, Old Navy's are really nice. I just got two pairs and they're really comfortable. My old pair from Forever 21 was either a tall bought on accident or really stretched out because they have about four inches of extra fabric at the bottom, but these show a hint of ankle (they have a 27 inch inseam and I have a 30 inch inseam). And they're only slightly vanity sized.

@one_time_user I use olaplex #3 too, and I think it really makes a difference.

I've been reading this blog: antihaulblog.blogspot.com and I wanted to mention it somewhere. Especially if you read the Kailyn thread, you'll like this because she's like the anti-Kailyn. She actually knows what she's talking about, and I find her writing style addicting.
She points out a lot of the hype around different beauty products (mainly palettes) and how so many are similar to many other palettes or are just cute packaging and not good quality (she complains about this a lot with Too Faced)
I'm a pretty big Too Faced fan, but I've been disappointed in how gimmicky they are lately, which is how I found the blog. She put into words a lot of what I thought about different palettes, but wasn't really sure of because I don't have the experience with eyeshadow that she does. I'd look at a lot of these palettes at Sephora and wonder if there was just something I was missing.
However, she did convince me to buy something in a roundabout way. Her most recent post is about the Huda Beauty Obsessions Precious Stones, and the red palette caught my eye. I've been obsessing over red eyeshadows lately but have mainly seen them in palettes I'm not interested in or as a single shadow for like $20 when I really wanted a couple of different reds. Unlike other posts, she doesn't seem to have an issue with the quality of the collection, and her main point is that the colors in the palette exist in other palettes people may already have. But I don't own any of those other palettes and since I just want a lot of reds, I ordered this one.
On that topic, I tried the Nyx Vivid Brights creme eyeshadow in whatever their red color is. And it sucked. The color is ok, but the application is horrible.
I bought it and didn't wear it for about a month, so maybe it dried out in that time. I don't know, but I don't recommend it. Time after time I feel reaffirmed I shouldn't buy anything I can't try on first.

I'm also really interested in the Norvina palette. I'm hoping antihaulblog reviews it. But unless there's something wrong with it, I probably will get it.
I might wait to see if it trickles down to Marshalls. The one near me has a crap ton of ABH and Too Faced makeup.. like enough to consider opening a side business flipping makeup. Just recently, I got the TF cocoa powder foundation (which I would rate only ok) and TF peach lipstick (which I love). They've had sweethearts blush, cocoa contour, some eye palettes, lip injection, melted latex lipstick, and many other things I didn't buy.

I know you said you didn’t want single eyeshadows- but Sugarpill does make an amazing red single, Love+. Very pigmented, but not stiff and unblendable. They did have a red themed palette called Feline Fancy, I got mine through a reseller on ebay so maybe you could find one floating around? Nyx cream shadows aren’t my thing either, but the Ultimate Brights palette has a nice red. While Lime Crime has a history of being the rainbow village idiot of indie makeup, now that they’re under new management, I would also recommend the Venus I or Venus XL for a large red selection. BH Cosmetics’s Take Me to Brazil also has a red row.

You know, I think I was going to buy that Sugarpill red awhile ago, but it was sold out at the time.
I also didn't know lime crime had new management, I remember them from livejournal days drama and just made a note to never ever buy from them lol.
That feline fancy palette is cute. I've honestly never bought from Sugarpill, but I know they're supposed to be good.

Since we're on the subject of eyeshadows, I want to splurge on Aromaleigh's makeup products someday. I'm interested in her work that's based off the wives of Henry the 8th.
I'll use Anne Boleyn as an example.

I'm really interested in this site because she makes all sorts of makeup selections based on fine art, nature, history, science and mythology. It seems very unique.

I started taking biotin for my lupus ravaged hair last year around September. I didn't think it would do much good. But it actually worked and my hair isn't as thin or fragile anymore. I also started washing my hair by pouring containers of warm water over it to wet it and rinse out the shampoo and conditioner. It stays cleaner longer, doesn't get super oily at the roots and frazzly and dry at the bottom anymore.

My hair actually grew back somewhat over the spot I thought would be a red patch forever. It will never be 100% normal. But you can barely tell there's a scar now unless you part the hair over too much.

I just need to get a few inches trimmed now because I'm getting crazy hippie hair and it's getting in the way too much.

For awhile I had some hair in the back that was literally crunchy. I had to clip off a lock because it had turned spiraled and kinky. Like my hair texture had changed there. On a whim I bit into a hair and it went crunch. It wasn't super dry. It was kind of like biting corn silk. But with a crunch.

This problem seems to be gone. I started using vitamin D and folic acid because of my D deficiency (D-ficiency as I call it) and anemia. I don't know if that also helped my hair though. But I guess it helps other things.

I need to figure out what to do with my bangs. I don't want real short terf looking bangs but it's getting long and keeps curling up which is annoying as fuck.

Somewhat unrelated, but I’d like to ramble about the Tarte Creasless concealer for a post. I have very, very pale skin (still haven’t found a match, athough I’d describe my tone a ghosty white with a slight warm cast) and the shade 8S almost matches my skin, and doesn’t settle or collect hideously. I still have to lighten it with some leftover KVD white out concealer, but rarely do I find a formula and shade that works. I liked the shape tape’s formula but I could contour with the palest shade because it oxidized so badly. If anyone knows of another ultra pale concealer, I’d love to hear.

Are you thinking of a different cut or finding a way to style them differently?

I was fortunate enough to nab the ABH Aurora Glow Kit from my local TK Maxx. Untouched, sealed, and half price at £20. However.. it has no mirror and the same basic cardboard packaging as my BH Cosmetics palette, albeit with a more tasteful design. That BH palette actually came with a mirror though. I couldn't imagine paying £40+ for something that can't even come with a mirror. Unsurprisingly, the shades I've used so far are amazing so I can't be that mad about the packaging. Other than their brow products, I could never bring myself to pay for anything else. I'm beginning to wonder what I have been missing out on for so long.

It's kind of hard to stylize wavy bangs. I want them to be short but enough to still brush around since I have shorter hair.

I was also looking for a palette with a bunch of reds and decided on the Jeffree Star Blood Sugar palette. It has a variety of reddish pigments that make it very versatile.

I don’t know how large/small your head is, but as long as you cut them so they’re at least halfway down the forehead, you won’t have “terf” bangs. If you’d like them to be less wavy, a smoothing cream could help. If you just want them more manageable, argan oil serums are also helpful.

I'd really like to go back to having these bangs again because it was easier to keep them out of my eyes.

I may use the argan oil for now. My bangs are still kind of at an awkward length.
