my fav palette that I own is this one. Mac mellow moderns. I bought it on clearance for 14 bucks some time ago,
love the dusty colours, really good on very pale cool olive skin

Man, those are pretty.

Not a criticism but a personal failing: I can't handle a palette with more than maybe four colors. So many decisions!

I understand that feeling so much OMG!

aside from the product formula, I think a big factor behind what makes a palette good is how cohesive is its color story. a good palette, even if its larger, will offer many many color combinations that look nice. Doesn't mean the colors have to be samey or anything, it can still be varied.

I can't bring myself to buy a palette if I know I will not use all the colours. I only own two, so there's not so many choices.
This is the other palette I own (Its NYX "Denim Baby", I think ive mentioned it in this thread ages ago in fact) and I love how cohesive it is!!! In a single makeup look you'd probably use 1-4 shades at most, and even though the colours are divided by quads literally every combination would likely look pleasing.

Okay so the other day I found this really cute dress at the thrift store and it didn't have a tag on it, so I was hoping you guys could help me pin it down. It's white with black polka dots and red rose pattern print with a black waistband(?) It's SUPER cute and I wanna know what brand made it.

It’ll be near impossible to identify without seeing it.

This is the closest I can get without taking an actual picture, but it had slightly longer sleeves and had a metal tag on the side that said "deploise tes ailes"

Thanks to EmoMom I could pin it down a lot!

Only listing I could find so far, it's an XL and it seems this pattern production may have stopped as far back as 2016, according to their website history and logo use from internetarchive wayback machine.

This style of pattern was also heavily popularized in early 2010s by Katy Perry or Gwen Stefani so I have a lot of reason to believe you won't find it in normal stores

"KSL Mini Dress Fit-Flared V-Neck Short Sleeve Jersey Pullover" from kslsport. You'll have more luck looking on french thrift websites. I looked, and couldn't find more for the one above, so here's some dupes you may like:

Vintage Retro Look Dress Womans M Swing Black Polka Dot 50's Bbonlinedress, Vintagevogue Collete floral swing dress, GRACE KARIN Sleeveless Vintage Floral Tea Dress with Belt, H&R London Floral Colette Swing Dress (White)

I still recommend the aforementioned brands if you like that type of clothing 🙏

Have any other lady Kiwis given up on pants?

I wore skirts and shorts in my teenage years but now that I'm an adult I'm putting a lot of effort into cultivating my wardrobe, and I've decided to wear dresses full time. I don't know why women stopped wearing them, they're so comfy (especially when menstrual), look great and are more flattering to a woman's figure. I'm Kibbe Romantic (for those of you familiar with that system) and pants, no matter how well fitted or tailored, make me feel boxy as fuck. Anyone else on the "pants are a psyop" train or is it just me?
